So many advertisements we're more engaging than current days. Due to the notes and natural individual scent we all have individually is one of the most important which perfumes suits you best. I love Romance.
@@nancymarkiewick3557 I've always liked it myself. I got a lot of compliments on it. The Elizabeth Taylor one is too strong though. I think it depends on the perfumer.
All my mom wears is Wind Song!!! It smells beautiful!!! Very difficult to find the powder and lotion, but this past year, I found it and got it for her for Christmas!!
Another beautiful vintage scent is Acqua di Parma which was worn by Cary Grant and Ava Gardner. I've been wearing it for years. Its fresh clean and sophisticated.
Oh Laura your perfume collection is goals worthy! I really need to work on building my collection. An Evening in Paris is my favorite. I wear it for special occasions. I really want to get a bottle of Shalimar. That's next on my list.
I love Exclamation ‼️. It was released in the late 1980's, and it's so nice and light. It was so different than the heavy perfumes that dominated the 1980's and much of the 1990's. CKOne was a fragrance that defined the 1990's. It was so different than his his other fragrances. It's light, citrusey, and both genders can wear it.
I believe St. Augustine is the oldest city in the US... it was the first city established... Yes. I was correct. Fountain of youth?!? I hope they keep it clean...
My mom always wears Shalimar. I love Chanel #5, but haven't had any in a while. I'm going to buy myself some for my birthday!!! Love from Bobcaygeon, Ontario, Canada!!💖✌
4711 is my hubby’s everyday cologne. We have both been wearing it for about 45 years. Fun bit of trivia is that 4711 was Napolean’s signature scent. I love Florida Water myself but haven’t had any in years. Always have Chanel #5 in my collection. So enjoyed this video and want to check out some of the other ones you talked about😊
Champs-Elysées by Guerlain is very nice. I'm surprised you didn't mention that. I'm surprised you didn't get over 1k thumbs up with the amount of views. This is a good video especially compared to the other videos I watched today.
I love Giorgio , I wore it in 1980s and still wear it. It’s scent is unique a little sweet , it reminds me of the 80s. I’m so happy to see this video, love the history and recognizing perfumes worn in the past by family , friends and myself.
Hi Laura I’m a Hollywood Historian and also a Hairdresser/Makeup Artist I love old Hollywood especially I’ve never seen you cover the fragrance Marem. It was made for Alla Nazimova in 1914. It’s still made today by Caswell-Massey. Also I love Tabu wanted to share that Ava Gardner wore it when she was married to Sinatra she would wear it when she was in the mood 😂
I love Shalimar and Quelques Fleurs! Joy is very nice too. Bal a Versailles is a very interesting fragrance that totally changes with everyone's chemical makeup. It never seems to smell the same on people. Quite unique.
When I was 16 in 1996 my favorite perfume was tommy girl. I also wore tabu, exclamation, sunflower, sand & sable and white diamonds, another very popular perfume was Ciara( you may know someone named after that one)
My grandma wore Tabu. They had a candle and a red lipstick as well as lotion and body powder. I have always worn it as my signiture fragrance. I get complimented all the time. Loved this video.
I adore Shalimar. It is my signature scent. My sister gifted a small bottle of the perfume to me in the 60s (it was her favorite). I feel as though she is still close to me when I wear it. She was classy and gorgeous. I love your content. Thank you!
My grandmother wore Candide by Avon and my great aunt always gave me a bottle of Evening in Paris for Christmas; my mom wore something with a Freesia floral scent and I like Youth Dew, Chanel #5, anything with Patchouli in it
I never liked Youth Dew too many old ladies wore it , so I in my twenties couldn't stand the headiness of it. But I do like bal a Versailles. An old good friend wore it all the time.
I love Tabac Blond by Caron. It was created in 1919. It has become increasingly difficult to find and very expensive unfortunately. I stupidly put my last bottle in direct sunlight and it made it smell vinegary. 🙈
Evening in Paris is what my Great Grandmother used to wear in the 50s & 60s. My Mother has always talked about her Grandmother wear it and the impression that it left upon her as a kid.
My Granmother Monie" wore Tabu" ..my otber PRECIOUS Granmom wore Lu Air du Temps " Nina Ricci..both still made...both ..bring them back to me when i smell them......two totally diff scents....🌹🌹
you motivated me to buy the 4711 deodorant spray awhile back! and I love it!!! it’s so fantastic to spray on at night after my shower routine. and then a spritz in the morning before I use a natural deodorant stick. 💛
You missed one perfume that was very popular in the fifties and before I think ..My grandmothers generation , and mine... It was called "Phul Nana" and you could actually buy it at Woolworths...! It has been released once more , and is available now..Very expensive..I forget the name of the company who has the patent on this glorious perfume..
I love perfume, but all the old perfumes that you have mentioned --the updated versions do not smell like the old versions because of the civet, which isn't used in perfumes anymore. In addition, lots of perfumes smell inexpensive as a lot of perfume companies do not use high quality ingredients.
I have a perfume collection including Chanel, Shalimar, Youth Dew and many others. My favorite is Diorissimo which is hard to find. I have found antique perfume bottles in second hand shops as well. Anything with bergamot and ylang ylang is my favorite.
I love Eau de Cologne or "Kölnisch Wasser" as we say in Germany. I actually think tourist do mostly buy it, I personally never smelled it on anybody. But I love that very special scent. They just launched a new version which is my new signature perfume now. Thank you for your video Laura :)
I love vintage perfumes, bottles etc. Have sampled many of the ones you mentioned rather than bought full bottles. I still love Shalimar in it's different forms and Apres L' Ondee is such a unique one too.
I am so happy I found a UA-cam channel that I can watch daily with someone that loves and values retro make up and perfumes Laura. I cannot find very much information but I would so love it if you would consider finding out and researching Charles of the rates I graduated in 1985 and it was one of the hardest perfumes. They even had a make up line, I wish there was somewhere we could even buy the fragrance just a thought
My mom wore Charles of the Ritz in the 70s, also some of the skin care line. I remember some kind of under eye emollient that always seemed mysterious to me like, how could this minuscule drop do anything?! lol
I have a large collection of vintage evening in Paris , I have the talcs as well as the perfumes , and a lovely body powder with puff it still smells lovely . X
Heavy? Blue Grass??!...Tabu is heavy.....lol..but i personally love both...memories ...of special ladies in my life...im sure other ladies out there can relate
My favorite is Lutece, which can be hard to find today. The packaging is gold and deep blue, and if I remember right, the ad was 'golden days and sapphire nights'... Definitely one that translates well to any time of day. BTW, I found that Tabu (I got the violin shaped bottle) is kind of heavy and old-fashioned at first, but quickly settles to a lovely rich scent. I also love Elizabeth Arden's Red Door- dated a man for awhile who was absolutely mad for it when I wore it. I still wear it when I want to be extra alluring. 🙂
Try the Youth Dew Cream. The Perfume is too much but my mom used the dusting powder and the cream and it was much better. It's a bit muted and you can control how much you wear. I put it on my wrists, behind my ears, and a little on my chest. My husband loves it better than the spray. He says my pillows and pajamas smell like the cream and it's not strong.

Ugh. If only this video had scratch n sniff lol
No-one here in love with Chanel No. 19? My all-time favourite.
The bottle of Blue Waltz looks like a heart. I see why teens in the 1950's gravitated towards that.
My mom used to wear Tabu so that's nostalgic for me. Used to wear Jungle Gardenia and honestly I still like them both👍
Jungle gardenia is one of the worse, it stinks. People would make fun of it
@@nancymarkiewick3557 I've always liked it myself. I got a lot of compliments on it. The Elizabeth Taylor one is too strong though. I think it depends on the perfumer.
My mom wore Tabu as well ❤️
I like both of them. The Elizabeth Taylor one doesn’t last long it’s only strong at first
@@Laurajaneatelier I tried it several years ago and it seemed really strong to me. I do like White Diamonds though👍😁
Samsara is a beautiful scent

@Theda Bara what great ideas...thank you!

See Beauty Boutique Wind Song.
I used to wear that all of the time!

Thanks for the suggestion!
I still love Tabu and Channel. They remind me of my mother, and aunties. The advertisements and packaging looked so romantic ,and glamorous.

Me too!
My mum wore 4711 all the time!! It’s such a lovely summery perfume. It really cools you down, just smelling it makes it you feel cooler on a hot day ❤️
Quelques Fleurs is what Princess Diana wore on her wedding day.
This channel is literally so calming 💆🏼♀️
Does anyone remember Tinker bell perfumes in the 70's, I loved them. My favorite scent was orange blossom.
Awesome. I googled the ingredient Civet. Big mistake. :)
At least it's synthetic now 😂

Yes, I liked the Exclamation commercials , they where fun.
Wow. I wore both Exclamation & ck one. As well as Electric Youth & Sung by Alfred Sung.

Christian Dior Diorissimo one of my favorites lot of compliments from men and women on this.
