Mayor Omar is a good man. Wasn’t no potholes in the hub like it is now when he was mayor.
When FG talked about how Mayor Bradley seemed so much older at 27, that let's you know how he was carrying himself which is likely what led to him being mayor. And I like how he talked about FG being very smart growing up. Understanding the streets and applying intelligence with it that makes you a force.
I started substitute teaching in March but schools out now but I love it it's good giving back to the young people and a lot don't have father figures at home and it shows because they're always in awe when they see a black dude teacher
I sparked up just in time to hear that “stay tuned for part two”

Omar reminds me of Mr Butler from Menace ll Society. Trying to keep everybody on the right path and see a better way of life but it proves to be difficult living in the CPT
People respect him like the people in DC respect they mayor. Take away the part the mayor in DC got caught smoking crack but right now in 2022 if you ask the people of DC who was the best mayor marionberry is still loved by the people in DC so much respect to this mayor of compton

🛸🦍🕳️
good interview....but facts not right on the demographics. he was born in 1958. in early 60s compton was still 60% white. White flight didnt really kick in until after the watts riots in 65 when he was 7. Even in 1970 when he was 12...it was still over 1/3 white. 65% black. It peaked at about 80% in the late 70s...and by 1980 was down to 73%. IJS
I lived on Atlantic and Rosecrans in 1976 and had so much fun.
