Arrival and Ceremonial Welcome at the Government House 02/29/2024

President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr. is accorded with a ceremonial welcome as he arrives at the Government House in Canberra, Australia on February 29, 2024.
The President is undertaking a Guest of Government visit to Australia upon the invitation of Governor-General David Hurley. The visit is envisioned to further strengthen the existing bonds of cooperation between the two countries and enable discussions for new areas of cooperation, as both the Philippines and Australia look forward to celebrating 78 years of diplomatic relations later this year.
To recall, Governor-General Hurley represented Australia during the Chief Executive’s inaugural ceremony in 2022. As he is set to meet the Governor-General once again, President Marcos Jr. expresses his hopes for this visit to convey not only the camaraderie, but the goodwill of the entire Filipino nation.
