So appreciated to catch a glimpse of this relatively overlooked film by Duras, adapted from her own story for children. The shot of Ernesto in quiet contemplation in the brush is worthy of Jean-Marie Straub and Danièle Huillet, who had earlier in 1982 made their own film interpretation of the same book, the delightful and beguiling short 'En rachâchant'.
