Will UK face future right-wing rebellion if Labour win election?

- If the polls are to be believed, Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour could be set to beat Rishi Sunak’s Conservative’s and gain a record majority in Parliament, but perhaps with one of its lowest shares of the vote.
[Subscribe: bit.ly/C4_News_Subscribe]
Despite promises on tax, voters believe they will pay more, and are sceptical about things getting better. Turnout is expected to be historically low.
The Lib Dems are heading for a lower share of the vote than Reform but could get twenty times as many seats or more. Are these just the realities of our system or the warning lights on the dashboard for a democracy heading down the wrong road?
Look across the water to France and beyond - are we potentially storing up even more discontent and anger from people who might turn right next time?
In this episode of The Political Fourcast, Krishnan Guru-Murthy is joined by Labour’s Bell Ribeiro-Addy, former Levelling Up Minister Dehenna Davison and the SNP’s Mhairi Black to discuss all this and more.
Produced by Shaheen Sattar, Silvia Maresca, Calum Fraser, Rob Thomson, Nick Jackson.

REFORM........WIN 👍🇬🇧🏴🏴🏴 👏👏👏👏👏👏
People have voted with their feet... MSM are becoming irrelevant (C4 gets fewer viewers than UA-camrs doing the same job) and MPs are being booed...
Representation ONLY works when their values and needs are being considered...
Also consider that 20% of votes cast are postal and they are the easiest to manipulate...and WHY are some people being deprived of their postal vote..?
I agree, some people shouldn't be deprived of their postal vote; all people should be deprived of their postal vote.
I love Channel 4. Some of its movies are sensational.
The majority will have their say🇬🇧🇬🇧
Vote Reform 👍🇬🇧
What you did to reform is a disgrace. You should be shut down and apologise. I’ll never trust this channel again. What a pathetic attempt to smear them that was. Utterly pathetic
You’re right no one needs to smear them, they smear themselves.
I pray Nigel Farage and George Galloway, between them split the votes of both Labour and Tory party.
They were actually united against the corrupt EU and George Galloway had Nigel Farage on his podcast 8 years ago.
Galloway lost his seat and his pants, too
Crazy world we are living in, if i wanted to go for a job that asked me to do unsociable hours, i wouldn't apply for it in the first place! No UK PM has ever asked of something like this. Next, he'll be wanting to work from his kitchen watching tv!
what is wrong with politics the people can only vote for two parties who are far-left that is the problem vote reform
If you think the conservatives are "far left" you have no idea what the phrase even means
Are these actors too? 😂
Yes 😊
Might as well be because I dont believe any of it.
Or are they truly this thick and ignorant of what people want? Hard to tell.
Channel Four and the BBC are quaking in their boots. Farage wants to scap the licence fee. 😂
Licence for C4? Nice try Sergei 😂
Well, we know someone who gets their world view shaped by Nadine Dorries!
Someone never going to get power can make all kinds of promises..
Führage..
Wrong again Moscow
Far right people are patriotic people that love their country
And hate everyone else.
Hitler said the same about his voters..
If that's the case why do they always just sell off everything that used to be owned by the British people to foreign billionares? The steel industry, the gas, the railways etc.
Maybe the far right are patriots for someone's country but it isn't ours.
@@johnrussell3961 *ZIA YUSUF is the darling of Reform UK and thousands of Reform UK supporters loved listening to him in Birmingham*
I always enjoy reminding people like yourself of this because it shatters the Racist propaganda Tripe that the Gullible like yourself have swallowed hook line and sinker.
@@johnrussell3961What are you saying? If Reform got in there'd be mass murder and we'd invade Poland? Come on..
We are going to vote reform party with Nigel Farage leading the way.😅conservatives have no chance .
I think Labour will get 43%of the vote .
Conservatives get 18%
Reform party 39%
Giving a split vote between Labour and reform to make a new government.
With bets on this will happen price of this bet was at the start 20 to 1 now 2.1 on split government between Labour and reform party .
?!?!?! Reform has only polled above 20% (21%) one time in a single poll in it's history.
Reform is currently polling at around 12-16% and seems to be decreasing after the recent racist skeletons falling out the closet.
I do think Reform will get a sizeable amount of votes, but only a small handful (maybe 1-5 seats).
Did you know that votes don't translate to seats? One prediction I've seen is that Labour will get a majority of seats with about 40% of the vote, and that the Lib Dems will get slightly more seats than the Tories and Reform combined with fewer votes than either of them because of tactical voting and the spoiler effect.
You are giving zero for the Greens, the Lib Dems, the SNP and Plaid Cymru, I would be surprised if those parties combined get fewer votes than Reform. Reform looks likely to come third in votes, a bit ahead of the Lib Dems, but its unlikely to get as many votes as Lib Dems and Greens combined. You've also got the Tories and Reform on a combined 57%, that's unrealistic, how the rightwing vote splits between Reform and Tory is hard to predict, but in combination they won't get 40%. The amusing thing is that Labour could wind up getting a majority of seats with a smaller share of the vote than they got under Corbyn in 2017. As for seats, Reform would do very well if it replaces the DUP as the 5th largest Party in the House of Commons.
Reform was on about 4% in Scotland and that was before the recent ra# ist stuff came out.
@@washboo would this be the racist skeletons that we all now know were offered and given incentives?
I wouldn trust anyone on this panel to run a tap never mind a country vote reform.
No woman should vote labour when they cannot even define what a woman is. And any man who cares about their loved ones rights to privacy and safety in women only spaces should not vote labour either. Protect women. Protect children. Vote reform
They can. But choose to lie in public in order to appease a radical minority. It is cowardly behaviour. More MPs need to have a backbone and actually say what they believe. Sadly there are too many career politicians who have zero principles, and care only about getting up the political ladder as high as they can regardless.
Proving identity IS central to democracy.
There will be MASS VOTER REMORSE if Labour get in never mind mass illegal immigration.
If you don't receive your postal vote in time then DEMAND your right to vote at polling stations.
VOTE REFORM FOR A SOUND CONTRACT WITH THE PEOPLE THAT WILL BE CARRIED THROUGH.
Poppycock.
If labour gets in the UK is finished and he will make this country 10 times worse than it is now so body vote reform UK 🇬🇧
Unrealistic to think that Labour won't win. The best we can hope for is that Labour only win with a plurality.
Reform are extremists so NO
The only expectations kier has exceeded is his ruthless factionalism. He talks left but acts right. He’s farages best asset!
More interested in fighting the left than the right, because he's more Tory than Labour.
Keir Starmer has no political views. He will say whatever he thinks will get him into power.
Keir has never once filled me with any confidence that he is remotely competent. He will do and say whatever is required to stay in power, not what is perhaps actually needed. He is a coward of a man.
Farage is advocating for taxes to disappear for the low paid with no tax paid until people earn £20,000. Starmer isn't.
@@gpw203 ahahahah. No it doesn’t ya silly billly.
It will. Most certainly. A lot of people are going to quickly find out they have a severe case of voters remorse after this GE
Not so sure anyone's expectations are so great tbh.
No promises of instant results from Labour, as far as I can see. Just "Change".
It's hardly revolutionary and I doubt there will be anything to cause remorse.
Frustration and disappointment, maybe, but we will see an improvement in the delivery of NHS services well within the first year. I also expect mental health services will improve along with provision of dentistry in the first 12 months.
I don't think anyone is expecting an overnight transformation, just a steady recovery.
Yep. Another 5 years of Tory will sort this mess out of course. Christ
@@BHJBHJ424 that’s basically what you’re getting with labour another conservative government but worse
@BHJBHJ424 reform is an option ya know not talking about them doesn't make them go away 😂
I think that was the years following Brexit when people realised they'd been lied too. No, lets give Labour a chance. I trust them way more than the Tories.
Channel 4 the neo Marxists safe haven, what a choice of panel 😂😂😂
No, just right wing. There's no need to jump to extreme, sensationalist ideas.
Maybe you lot should take a moment to question how you see your fellow countrymen.
Edit - The original title of this video used the term 'far right', they have since changed this to 'right wing'.
What do you mean? (genuine question).
The original title of the video used the term far right, not right wing. They've changed it since posting the video.
Labour voter know kier starmer and labour policies will make their lives worse but they are so angry at the tories they dont care . Weve had decades of the same policies from both sides people are angry our lives are far worse off and look set to get far worse under starmer
VOTE REFORM
Yeswe will move to the right , peop,e have hasd enough. Nothing wrong with bei g on the right by the way ,been on the left for how long and ilook at the state of the country
Anything "not left" is far right, right? If so, lets hope.
Anything to the left of the far right are communists. Two can play that game.
Che Guevara wasn't very nice to the gays
Has Channel 4 not been closed down yet because of the Andrew Parker scam?
REFOOOOOOOOOooooRMMM!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lets hope the rightwing take over!
Let's make sure they don't.
why do lefties get away with their biases?
Because they have been allowed to for too long. they ar smug and comfortable in their views and positions. .... lets hope that is about to change.
@@TPCDAZ So what you are saying is that they are not morally superior but just have a very high opinion of themselves?
@@mehcol Correct. We all know the left have no morals. If they did we wouldn't be seeing all the abuse of power we've had for so long. When you feel as though you are untouchable you say and do anything you want. The left have always thought like that.
Just stop the boats and reduce immigration or tell us the reasons why we're not doing so. That's all Labour/Tory need to do to keep everyone happy, instead, they've turned it into a left vs. right issue which has forced people to adopt the right-wing - because if "right-wing" means common-sense, who wouldn't?
Common sense would be addressing the massive wealth inequality that's occured due to neoliberal policies pursued relentless since Thatcher.
The people turning to the right is a sign that left wing policies have gone too far left and folks don't want it, so naturally turn away. This is perfectly normal, it's called democracy. You don't have to understand the people's wishes, but you must respect them.
So no guest from Reform on your programme. What a surprise. You are all petrified of Reform. Vote Reform.
I’m surprised turnout might be low bc I was of the belief that people were desperate for an election.
I think we heard similar claims for the Brexit vote and they were nonsense likely designed to demoralise the Brexit voters so they wouldn't bother voting. I keep seeing comments from people who say they don't vote normally but will vote Reform. The Brexit vote saw loads of people like that turn out. We will see a huge drop in Tory or nothing voters maybe and I don't know anyone enthusiastic about Labour but Reform voters seem fired up.
No Reform voice here? Not surprised
It would be brilliant if all brexit voters voted for reform.
That would surprise them!!!
Don't be put off
I voted for reform last week with my postal vote.
I live in an area where reform may be second or they may even win
Vote reform
This is a pretty crazy hot take. Sounds like the mum laying the groundwork for overt suppression of freedom of speech and association.
We can only live in hope that the right triumphs even in UK 🙏
