Great video, thanks. I have a Nimbus 35DC with twin installed AD41's, and like others have said, this is by far the best video covering the winterisation framework. One thing that may help you out, re oil filter change - if, once you have cracked the seal on the old filter, you put a plastic bag over it , you can twist the filter into the bag which keeps the majority of oil from coming out, and keeps it contained in the plastic bag. Then its just drips from the housing to deal with. Sven Bjelland has some brilliant videos on his channel, dealing with some overhaul items, intercooler, heat exchanger, water pump etc, if you fancy checking it out on YT. Thanks again, great video. Have you any info on that customised oil extraction tube? Was that an engine out, sump off modification? I'd love to have that fitted to mine. 👍👍
That's a terrific suggestion regarding the plastic bag around the filter once it's been cracked loose. I'm always nervous about spilling oil and fumbling the filter. It'll be part of my routine from now on.
Hello from Florida Ben! We bought a Cape Dory 28 cruiser last month that has that series Volvo but in a standard transmission and prop shaft. The previous owners lost the manual so your video was very helpful in getting familiar with the engine. Excellent points on tightening the oil filter. May you have a great crab season this year!
This boat/motor draws raw water through the outdrive, so flushing the system with glycol would involve filling a tub big enough to fit the outdrive in with antifreeze and running the motor. The raw water is returned via the outdrive and shield, which splutters all over the place. Antifreeze is toxic and attracts animals, which you may end up poisoning. Draining the raw water system after thoroughly flushing with fresh water is the least expensive and simplest way to winterize this type of I/O motor/outdrive. It is also the most environmentally friendly and legal.
Super vidéo, merci. J'espère qu'une autre vidéo expliquera le cycle de réfrigération pour les débutants
Thank you very much! This is hands-down one of the best and most informative videos I have seen from this motor that I also recently got! Good work.👍
Very good video. I’m new to ocean boats so this was excellent. Thanks

Que número lleva la laina de la válvula y escape y admisión cual es el orden de encendido
Why do you empty all seawater? Easier flushing the system with glycol?

Wintering can be way easier, just run a couple gallons of RV antifreeze through the raw water system. Much faster
