This tin was obviously someone's well used and beloved friend. It's lovely to see it fixed up and made useful again. If the box could thank you, I bet it would. :-)
I love this so much!! My grandma taught me to fix things up whenever you can. I love a good restoration project. I love the lumps and bumps. They are a great reminder of the way it used to be and how beautiful it became. Very nice job!
Thank you! I always feel sad when I see old items that are all beaten up and neglected. They can't always be redeemed, but it is surprising how many things will come back to life with a little restoration. I'm not exactly an expert but I think it's so much fun to see how much I can bring something back, or repurpose it into something else that's useful. 😁
Becky, I forgot to say, that it is so wonderful to see something in such poor condition - having a complete transformation! 👏👏👏👏 I think a video like this one inspires others to stop thinking like we normally would, and just throw it out! We do live in a throwaway society, and this can't possibly good for our planet.. it's the only planet we've got! So to see something like this is JUST MAGIC! Thank-you!
Hi Becky, what a fabulous idea, I never thought you could restore something so rusted and old, but it came up a treat, and the galaxy scene looks great, so shiny and glossy, and it would be nice and light to pack into your luggage when going away, hope you have a lovely weekend, thanks for another interesting and enjoyable video, hugs Sarah, 💕💕🥰🥀🥀
Thank you, it was a fun project, especially as I had no idea if it would be successful, haha! It is now in my art bag for going out and maybe even travelling. Ah travel, I remember that! 😂
I enjoy your channel. This was fun to watch. I like the way you give things a go and that you leave the mishaps in. It's so real and relatable. Thanks Becky.
Oh, wow, this turned out so lovely! When you first showed it, I was afraid that you had maybe wasted your few dollars, but you made it look so beautiful in the end. Well-done!
Great job , we really do like a lot of the. Same stuff I love vintage well any palettes I can uocucle , any vintage art supplies and again upxyxlw into something I can reuse, successful job dahlin
I would definitly call this one a success! What fun! I have an old W&N Whisky paintbox whose enamel has come off the top--now I know what to get to fix it. I'll let you know how mine looks when it's finished. Thanks!
I really enjoyed this fixer upper, you did a fantastic job! I kind of wish you had left some of the white on the outer lids. The colors reminded me of flowers.
I'm surprised you didn't test for lead. Here in the States, I test everything that could be before 1970s just to be safe. It was so prevalent in so many things prior to that. Great restore!
great video Becky, I wanted to spray my plastic palette, not sure that would work but great to see you can use epoxy enamel. I would not have known what to use. Thanks
That went really well, actually! I couldn’t believe that it would be able to be restored based on how it looked in the beginning, but you proved me wrong! The inks look really pretty! Ah trust me I wouldn’t know how to use any of those tools!😂
I was surprised with how well it turned out too. It's hard to know when something is in such terrible condition if it will come back to life. When in doubt, hit it with a hammer! 🤣
I love to bring back sad old bits of junk and give them a new lease on life as useful objects. The satisfaction is worth more than money, if that makes sense! 😊
@@BeckyTregear It does make sense. I have an old 1952 Astor Radio my uncle used in his SP betting shop restored, so I get it. I was being a bit cheeky. Thanks for your response, Becky.

I like to think that it is happy to be restored and have a new purpose in life once again. 😁
You just inspired me to restore a vintage tin I bought a while ago but didn't know how to fix it up. Thank you.
I'm glad to be of help; I hope you have fun restoring your tin! 😆

I've never seen anything like this before. A fascinating process from start to finish. YOU. ARE. BRILLIANT.
Thank you! "Restoring" things is a little side hobby but I hope to include more videos like this because it is so much fun!
Not sure how I missed this six months ago! I have a weakness for old watercolour palettes, this video has shown me where to next with them. Thank you!
Finally! A youtuber promoting safety! 😁
It's so important, and I wouldn't want someone to hurt themselves after watching one of my videos! 😵
Yes! Becky, I was so glad to see that you were protecting yourself! I think it turned out beautifully!! Job well done! 👏👏👏❤️❤️
the galaxy design was such a cool idea im in love with that amazing thing 😮
It looks amazing. I like when things get cycled up. Love it as well.
How fun! I've been doing this for about 4 months, it makes me happy! Fun to see someone else enjoys this, too!
It's so satisfying bringing things back to life! ❤️💜

It looked much loved and used. 😍

It is so much fun rescuing old junk and turning back into something useful. ☺️
Loved this. I’ve been doing acrylic pours over my watercolor tins but didn’t think to do alcohol ink over enamel spray paint. Thanks for the tip! 💜
I love it! I hope I come across a similar palette design someday, I love how flat it is. Your end result is quite lovely, too!
Thank you! It can be quite difficult to find vintage palettes that aren't completely bent and misshapen, at least in my experience. 😭
Beautiful
What a brilliant job. Wonderful!
This looks absolutely amazing!! I love these unique projects

Wow, this is fantastic! 😍 Great job.

I got carried away with the inks and that is how the whole thing got covered, haha! 😁
Yay for restoring oldie goodies! :)
Loved the palette Becky, love these makeovers please do more lol
I am on the lookout for new things to fix now! 😂
@@BeckyTregear don't know if you have wd40 in Australia but if you do it gets rust off and stops it coming back as well as cleaning metal
@@sueallen952 I didn't think of that, lol.

Didn't even occur to me! 🫣
This tin is so nice! I want one too 😭 I'll have to figure out how to make one since it's so perfect for extra space!
I love this! Well done
I bet the pallet was happy to look pretty and useful again. Great recycling things. Nice to show people it can be done. 😊
Thank you! 💜
Wow! You did an amazing job 👏🏼it looks AMAZINGGG
Thank you so much! 💜
You have restored it. Great job👍
Thank you! I am going to check out your channel for more ideas as I am a total novice at restoration, lol.
@@BeckyTregear I also started doing restoration not so long ago :)
Wow its beautiful and such a great idea to reuse it as a mixing palette 🎨 😍
Thank you! I figured squeeze paint in such shallow wells would be a bad idea, haha!
great video Becky, I wanted to spray my plastic palette, not sure that would work but great to see you can use epoxy enamel. I would not have known what to use. Thanks
The enamel is working well! Sometimes it can chip off but so far I haven't had any issues. 🙂
You did an awesome job, the galaxy outside is lovely~~
Thank you 😊
interesting process, great job!
wow, you really went to town on this, great job
Thank you - the restoration isn't exactly as perfect as I would have liked, but now it has....character! 😂
Very nice!
just loved watching this video.
Thank you, I'm glad you enjoyed it. 😊
This was really cool to watch, it turned out amazing :)
Thank you! ❤
Looks like brand new!
It scrubbed it pretty well, aside from a few remaining dents. Those are "personality", lol!

Ok I love this! I’m gonna have to find me an antique palette similar to this :-)
I hope you find one! 😊
This is awesome!! Love it! Also I like your music choice♥️
Thank you! Inspired by restoration shows on TV that tend to have rock music, lol.
Amazing job👌
Thanks 😁
Well done!
Thank you! ☺
I quite like that copper pot hammered look. it was a great job you did on it.
Ooh that's what I am calling that look now, haha! Thank you. 🙂
Nice job !
Thank you 😊
that's beautifulll! :D i'm really into galaxy right now haha~

If you ever work on anything rusty again, soak it in vinegar over night! I do that with my cast irons, and the rust comes riiight off
Thanks for the tip! 😊
Becky, dear, why go to the trouble. New one's are as cheap as chips - or is it cheps? (Bit of Kiwi there?). LOL.

@@svendbosanvovski4241 Haha I completely missed that! 😂
Actually I thought it looked cool the way it was. I would have framed it….dirt and all.
I actually found a second one! Just as battered and currently in its original condition.
