I've played the remaster of this game, it liked it it looks really good and stuff but there is just something special about the PS2 version, it's aesthetic, it's irreplaceable.

its great. the low resolution is just right... games like this when they are too HD it just breaks the whole visuals... its not meant to be seen that high res, all the imperfetions and awkward stuff is too obvious. the low resolution helps leave some things to imagination and hides some of the badness
I like how the game slowly reveals its self to you. The orange sky adds that 90s feeling. Like your on heavy drugs. Vice city & does this also. Its soo limited to what can be rendered on the screen in SAN lol

That somebody put every inch of passion into Back then Rockstar was still trying to prove themselves. Now...they run a multi billion dollar company and only cares about the money side of things. Ironically, the very first release for the PS2 had the best graphics. The orange lighting gave the world some decent 90s vibe. Like, it's incredibly ironic that for GTA, every next update is usually a major downgrade, with worse graphics, removed songs and such stuff. The original PC one is still decent, but the visuals look kinda too sterile, in the uncanny way.
I've played GTA SA on the pc my whole life. A couple years ago I got the mobile version. A couple days ago I finally got it for the Ps2 and I have to admit there is something just special about the Ps2 version despite the low draw distance or the crappy frame rate or the low resolution. The Ps2 version feels like tje best version to me. I actually feel like Im playing a video game the way it was ment to be.

Its because its the original version, how rockstar intended it to Look like, it was designed for ps2, all other versions came after ps2, thats Why they dont have the Same feel

What a weird opinion. On pc you can mod it to look almost exactly like the ps2 version and on a high resolution it looks amazing. I really think some people have nostalgia issues.

Yes, some scenes the characters are more dark/cartoonish but this upgrade to Unreal Engine with its more realistically advanced shadowing and lighting systems for the world has caused this problem as the game was originally developed in RenderWare Engine for the PS2, which had more flat surfaces/basic lighting. Point is RenderWare was designed to work with GTA 3, VC and SA on PS2 so the games were based around that but having a game basically redone to match the PS2 for nostalgia in a much improved game engine from that era is illogical to think every aspect from the old PS2 engine games will translate perfectly Same thing happened to Spongebob: Battle For Bikini Bottom Rehydrated vs old one on PS2 with the exact same engines for both as with GTA SA vs DE and I played BFBB Ps2 game religiously as a kid so just be happy with what you got… The PS2 version was also way more dark and blurry as the video by BLG looks like so DE is miles better even for darker characters…

Looks beautiful and realistic in ps2. It’s meant to be in ps2 and those old tv screens.
Its a miracle a game as big as san andreas is playable on ps2. You can tell the hardware is being pushed to the limit.
Cost is framerate and big pop up/rendering close... but so fookin impressive for that console😊
