i got this video in my recommended and i gotta say that i loved the video (and also your voice). I've had similar issues before I started streaming, thinking that my voice is not good enough or if I'm not gonna be entertaining, and I kept feeling that way even after starting to stream. Eventually I got used to it, but there are times when I just can't stand it because I find it so annoying, so I guess I'm not past it quite yet, but I'm getting there. Not giving up helped me gather a small community than genuinely enjoy what i do, and that helped boost my confidence a lot. I'm glad someone else had similar experiences to me
Necroposting a lot, but I got it suggested and never watched it before so... here's my two cents. Very heartwarming, inspiring video and a great listen overall. Thanks for sharing your personal history, allowing the audience to take it in and make their life better (and accept themselves). I always hated the "true" sound of my voice (which is natural, it's the same as not liking having your photos taken - our brains are used to see our own image mirrored because, well, most of the time we just see our reflections) to the point that I lashed out on people using speaker during calls as I could hear myself. So recording myself speaking and then listening to it and fixing it was a true torture and I wanted to die... until it wasn't. At some point... I just stopped caring about it and accepted myself. The same could be said about having aversion to own image. Very often there's that little voice inside our heads that tells us that we're just "not good enough", when in fact people really doesn't care (most of the time). Most of the time we are our own worst enemies, huh? Perhaps that's just And hey, I think your voice is really cool, same with accent, tone and tempo. It makes it quite pleasing to listen to, ...and yeah, I realized you were German after like 5-10 seconds of listening to you. It isn't a bad thing, it just... something that is and makes your content bit different than most, haha! It is funny though how Europeans can pinpoint the accent of others with nearly 100% precision! Thanks for not giving up! Most of people sadly do.
Yeah, it's not something you can really change so why care about it? Just have to get that kind of realization and then you're good to go, just like with many things in life! There's little things you can change like the tempo you talk in, etc. but for something like making videos there's no "true" way to do it. Gotta do it the way that's the most comfortable for you! Something that also helped was mostly just getting comments about my accent but not my actual voice, or people just saying I talk too fast which is something I can change but I never had someone actually saying my voice just straight-up sucks. And at this point if someone did say that then I would probably just ignore it.
wise words, can't blame you for struggling with those german words either, i'd be impressed by anyone who can get them right most of the time, i dont speak german but those sound like some tongue twister words ^^'
