  • There are two essential lines of development in the quest for enlightenment -- the shift of self-identity followed by the dissolution of identity altogether. In this compelling talk, Adyashanti focuses on the deeper aspects of his teaching as he explores the subtlety of the dissolution of self and the quiet, complete surrender through which all identity falls away.

Yes, there is a fear. Almost like flying without a safety net. And if you fall into the abyss, you could become lost forever. At least, this is how I feel.

Letting go of self is scary shit. The chance comes to me once in a while, but every time i fight it. It feels like death and it´s terrifying.

@ps3t Have you ever seen the end of Matrix Revolutions? This is the whole idea. Neo has been fighting himself all along. And through the fighting, he realizes that it is only creating more problems(Smiths). So he lets Smith take him, and Neo finally beats him. The point is to love thy enemy, thy neighbor, as thy self. If you have the opportunity welcome the death. Invite it for dinner : ) Love it. For fear only gives it more power over the human animal body. May peace be upon you *bows*

I think I know what he is talking about and it is the very "not knowing how to do it"
    that invisibly leads the way.

I wonder if Giorgio has ever had a conversation with John. I would love to hear that convo. (Perhaps Adya and Mooji just cheers themself, would laugh and hug, cannot be a "conversation", just a good "talking about nothing, like me and you...)

@justthink I'm much at the same point. I really don't know what to do in this world. When I don't know what to do I just become still and allow myself not to know. It's a bit scary point in my life.

Sort of a relief in a way, knowing you can't do it, that you just have to surrender

i let go of self and found when i first did let the image of myself go that my consciousness first led me into a great insanity and unknmowingness but then i gained the greatest insights of the higher planes and god consciousness cause i had no choice but accept that all beings in my sight make up my mind the subconscious part of my awareness that includes me being you i even regressed in some meditations all the way back to the first being who descended into death drifting further into now
