This is a really great mix of mainly early Chicago house and a bit of Detroit techno. You may get a few (Brits) saying how great they felt hearing this stuff while they took drugs in clubs. They could have taken drugs and enjoyed classical or country and western music. But believe me this early Chicago house and Detroit techno music was sooo exciting, revolutionary and groundbreaking off drugs. A simply amazing time to experience this new music from the mid 1980s. I feel blessed to have experienced it. This Chicago House and Detroit Techno simultaneously spawned all (non rap/hip hop) EDM music you hear today (eg trance, drum n bass etc). But present day EDM is not as pure as house and techno. It forgets its roots intentionally somehow.
I'll be 50 next year, and still haven't got bored on the mental tune between 88 & 92,mental memories of totally nutty illegal raves helped by our good friends Billy, mandy and in the earlier days acid.

Quality mix mate - you proper hold it down, and some of the tunes you chose are not the nicest to mix... Respect! So much better than most mixes uploaded from that era and a great choice of tunes compared to the usual music from 88-89 which normally get posted 😀😎✌

ONE track I've been searching for for YEARS is at 25 minutes in. repeating base line. but my version had sad chords (soft pad strings which I can hear creep in at the end when it mixes not the next song...) in a tender haunting refrain, so beautiful juxtaposed against the acid chirps and that cowbell & compressed snare skips. do you know the name of the record? I'd LOVE to find it one day!
If wasn't for those dedicated and took risks, possible time in prison lost all there vinyl, DJ equipment in the late 80s early 90s with the illegal rave scene . Sadly the true fans Djs stayed true to the real fans, the rest got commercial a bit like Disco the DJs became Superstars from the 90s until the 2000s In the modern era times have changed for the better
