- My rocket actually got off the ground this time thank goodness! Loved making this video, it was a lot of fun.
Very excited for the fresh start as we move onwards from the result of the last launch. Keen to share all the fundamentals of rocketry.
First, thank you so much to this video's sponsor Fratelli Engineering. Without their help, this rocket would have not left the ground. If you are in need of anything related to steel, check out their site:

Also, a huge thanks goes out to Neel from Melb ARES and Duc-Tri from Monash HPR for taking some stunning shots of 'To Thirio's final flight!
A special shoutout is in order for the VRA president Isaac for always volunteering to be LCO for my hybrid launches :)
the missle knows where it is, because it knows where it isn't.
hahaha, we will come to guidance very soon my friend
This is like Explosions & Fire meets BPS Space. Subscibed.
Rockets, beard, great rock and roll ready hair, good jokes = perfect channel!
All the best things in life
Classified kitchen 😂
Some legend came up with that name
That rocket achieved its dream of being a cruise missile.
It's final wish before it went into permanent retirement
Το Θηρίο - Love it.
Σ´αγαπώ φίλε
awesome project - happy to tag along for the ride :D
can totally see myself forgetting that ice haha
Goddamn im sooo in. Keep it up
Ok I'm in .

That was your "Wright Brothers" moment: "It flew for 12 seconds!!!" Keep up the work, you have earned a subscriber. 🙂
My "YT Wright Brothers" moment for sure. Here's a little secret, I flew this rocket / motor last year :)

Good luck with future launches! Very entertaining, keep up the great work! Excited to see the next vid, cheers
Now that I'm here, you don't have to worry about classified kitchen.
We're all on a watchlist now.
They are always watching
The spray is the way! Congrats!
New favourite rocket Channel, please please please….. never stop swearing
They breed us a bit differently over this side of the globe
Awesome! I’ll be following your journey : )
My new favorite channel, super chill, super science!
I see The Algorithm knows that I built Estes rockets as a teen. First time seeing your efforts. I regret that I have but one Like to give...
Your like is most welcome here my friend, thank you for enjoying!
Each video gets better! Bravo Leon keep up the good work 💪
Love that you love the videos man!
here before this guy blows up
Let’s make it happen 😊
also! you were in my recommended!
Something that works for lighting the hybrids Ive been building is a chunk of a c6 motor electrical taped to the fuel line. It has a short but non-explosive burn profile which goes straight through the fuel line and has been reliably lighting our motors (granted they're running a HTPB based fuel grain so results may vary).
I will keep this in mind, thank you my friend!
amazing!
nice
super
love it
Excellent work..... you made a missile.... rockets are old :D
I'm subscribing... !
Supercool!
I thought it was a little underpowered as you explained later. Can't the motors be ground tested to the desired thrust before firing it off in an actual rocket?
It for sure can, and we will do so in an upcoming video my friend
Loving the channel mate, keep it up! 🚀
I love that you love it ☺
That low TWR is why i am subscribing! Great video bro.
Low TWR means less drag -> higher performance. I swear...
@@RocketsInTheBackyard True only for expendable rockets but you are right....
Should have way more subs for the quality of content. In part two you should install a warhead.
Share this video to your friends and we can get there! We will for sure get some payloads in there one day...
Why so few folowers your kontent is amazing
Cross-threading is just free Loctite.
that's given me a new outlook on engineering 😂
xD Thank you!! Subbed only to see more missiles.
I hope I can provide :)
Is it not worth trying to static fire the motor? Would be cheaper than wrecking an entire rocket each time.
Not as much fun though ahahaha:

🙃 just make a missle now lol
5:09 kinda look like a missile launch
a touch unstable, could it be the mass distribution? time to work to motorizing your fins next? or a gimble system for the fins? good job you got it to fly. lesgo
Tbh, the whole design of this rocket was a mess (was initially made for 1kN motors and above, not 300 N hahaha). Next one is going to be properly done my friend!
@@RocketsInTheBackyard mate there you go. Gimbal system for the fins will do just fine

i've been smashing the gym
Are those Greeks ? Are you from Greece ?
'straya, greek background ;)
@@RocketsInTheBackyard What do you mean by that.
Australian, with Greek background my friend
Just stopping by to say I was here before he launched a missile at the White House 😊
I think it didnt work because you need a hair cut and some flip flops :)
They call them thongs. I don’t know why either, but then again they’re Aussies.

Hey rocket man, this is from PCBWay. Currently, we'd interested in doing something fun with and see if our custom service can better contribute your work. Any chance we can talk a bit?
