705 scanning? Watch this video first - then the manual will make so much more sense! Really well done and lots of info given in a really easy to digest presentation. Thanks!
Excellent tutorial video!! It's really disappointing that ICOM did not make this radio act more like a typical mobile radio as far as memory scanning goes. I know it is an all mode/all band radio but I think many would like to be able to use the radio as a standard Vhf/Uhf radio at times and not be faced with all these gyrations and work arounds to just get it to scan their local repeaters when they are not using it as an HF radio.
Too bad they did not put an "invert" on the (*1) SELECT groups, then you could "skip" the (*1) groups inside your memory group scan, perform a NOT scan... Thanks, I followed along with my radio, and have learned quite a bit about the radio. I've owned it now about 2 years and have only "picked" here and there in the book... Great videos, especially the D-STAR black magic..
Hello and thanks for this video ! I'm trying to follow along but when I get to 3:45, my "Quick Menu" doesn't have "Temporary Skip Set". It's got "Weather Ch" under "GPS Position" and I can't find it anywhere else either. What could I be doing wrong ? Thanks.. I'm on f/w 1.32 (weirdly, I DO have the "Temporary Skip Timer" ??)
Thank you for taking the time to make these videos. They are very helpful.

Thank you for the kind words!
Thank you for this intuitive video, I’ve been eyeballing the 705 for some time now.

Glad they’re helpful. Yes, I agree it would be nice if there was some easy way to skip just a few channels.

Are you on a memory channel that you want to skip when you go into the Quick menu?
@@HamRadioA2Z Sure, I’m on a memory channel I could want to skip. The menu item just isn’t there.
