We have a homestead/farm channel, and we base our videos off of the projects or chores we have scheduled to do for that particular day or week. We've experimented with long and short videos and haven't noticed a difference on our channel in terms of growth by doing one or the other. We are now looking to experiment and put out more content several times a week with a specific agenda in mind - perhaps with some videos 1 1/2 to 3 minutes long to see if that changes anything. Trial and Error right? From our channel to yours, we wish you all the best!

I’ve known for a long time that although vlogging is fun and what I love to do the most, it’s not the best way to grow and I need to make content where I’m giving people more value first and foremost. But then I always think ‘I can’t think of any valuable content,’. Like ‘how to’ videos or ‘top tips for...’. Hmmmm I’m going to have a think. Maybe I can still make vlog style videos but with a topic that’s informative and helpful at the same time so it’s more structured and searchable on UA-cam. Thank you for the tips Sean! • @First1000Hours
      @First1000Hours 4 роки тому

I'm sure the travel channels have had a rougher time. I think also, travel channels can even focus on sharing content about local places or not to distant places by them, which might seem not so exciting, but for those who haven't been to them, they still can be very interesting.
I remember watching a bilingual UA-camr give a tour of her public school in Spanish around 2ish years ago. To the average American, it might have been mundane, but if your audience is mainly outside of the US, it probably was very interesting. If I remember correctly, that video had over 100,000 views.

I'm just starting now so these tips are super valuable, thank you!! By the way, I left a video request a few days ago on another post. I'll list it here as well - I just posted my FIRST video on Sunday! I couldn’t have done it without your amazing tips and guidance. I still did a million things wrong, of course, but I got it out there! The next one will be better. You know what I would love to see, a “UA-cam Video Checklist” video where you list off the tasks that need to be completed (in order) and you can link to related videos. Example: 1. Research idea, 2. Write script, 3. Research title, thumbnail title, and tags, 4. Take Thumbnail picture, 5. Record video, etc. Also, when you have bullet point script ideas, how do you read them while you’re recording? I never see you checking notes!

The smaller your audience following, the more searchable and helpful content you need to be putting out there. Not that I’m an expert or anything (very small channel right now), but people can’t search for you and your channel if they don’t know it exists. But they’ll look for videos you’ve made that answer a question they have that they search for. And if nothing else, it always feels super good to help people :)

And now I have just applied for monetization and my channel is under review. But my audience keep on commenting to upload the remaining part of that big video of mine. And it's gonna get so many views I know.
So now I'm wondering if I should upload that video or wait for the review to be approved in order to get big money.

I check out “special” days for each month and then check google trends. I also make sure to look at special events that always occur (holidays, tournaments, etc.). Then I figure out how I can incorporate that into what I do - taste tests, games, conversations, interviews.

There are several things I like about this video - but let me point out my favourite (if I may :)
You spoke with a small channel. Not a mega channel that is telling you the "secrets", but a small channel that is trying to actually grow. This was very insightful because it is really relatable to my own situation (I'm at 324 subs and approaching 70,000 views)

Yeah now try and get a board game channel to get these kinds of views without diverting away from the subject matter.
Vlogging is relatively easy to get tones of views for.

I’m super excited to be learning from TM’s videos! I just posted my 3rd video and within the last 3 hours I have gained 3 subscribers! The best part is: I feel like I haven’t even scratched the surface with my content ideas! Right now, I’m just putting out basic content to help the “beginners” of my niche (fibre arts)! Thank you so much for all of your valuable content! I get more motivated each time I watch one of your videos, them posting my own videos and (slowly but surely) seeing that people are getting value; it’s completely rewarding! I’m just getting started and I’m completely motivated to do more!!! ;) Thanks Seam and the TM team!!! xo

Ok...so I don't know what's going on...I've clicked on a few videos from your channel (more recent ones) such as this, looking for specific information and instead find myself "walking in to" what appears to be a private conversation. No intro, no explanation, just jumps right into the conversation...At least this is the feeling I am experiencing. I am unclear as to the reasoning behind this...but it has left me feeling weird and awkward like I am not party to an inside joke....eeeeek will have to find a different video. Thanks anyway.

Great tips Sean @Think Media I'm always looking to do things better. This should help, thanks! I am trying to grow my subscribers and develop great content, does anyone have any suggestion as to what I should add? We are all about Girl Power and encourage girls to be smart, strong and confident. I would like the channel to reflect that. Currently working on new content..

I'm going through a serious grind right now, I'm putting out TWO VIDEOS A DAY! It always amazes me when I look at these people that put out three videos over a three week period, in that same amount of time I'm putting out 42 videos! I hardly even look back to see if a few flop, there are always quite a few that do really well. I was doing one video a day for two years, then I uped my game and started doing two a day. It's pretty much all I do full time around the clock but I'll go FURTHER FASTER!! 👍😎👌 Once I'm a big UA-camr I may cut back to once a week - from the deck of my yacht!

This totally make sense. Unless you're casey neistat who has a really fun personality and do crazy things even with just vlogging. Mr. Beast however discovered the algorithm and formula on UA-cam. I watch think media for tutorials and guides, casey for some vlogging tips by just watching him plus he's so fun to watch, and Mr. Beast always doing the impossible that makes sense why people always watch him.

The # of subscribers in UA-cam is not the ultimate goal but happiness we have while we are pursuing what we love in life.
Monetization will not make us happy but enjoying the process will.
Not all UA-camr who have millions of subscribers are happy .
I love what a wiseman said before " Gary Vee "
Lets not put money or expensive material things on pedestal because
    Kindess and happiness is our
    Super Power

Audience reaction can be so hard to predict. At least half of my current top ten performing videos were duds for the first few months. Just goes to show that if you're having fun, you owe it to yourself to keep going regardless of the view count (for a while at least).

more great information. I have a travel show as well and been struggling for a while to get subscribers. I also moved to Vegas a few months ago and working on Vegas segments into my general Travel show. Many of the videos have done ok so far. Working on redesigning my home studio for more videos from there as getting out isn't happening much yet. I don't see a link to her channel?
