Apparently, this kind of genre perfectly fits for Jason’s voice, he actually showcased the complexity of runs and riffs plus the amazing falsettos that he has in this battle, superb performance it was.
On the other hand, Daniel’s voice is more soulful, full of emotions.
Mgist JM True. When Daniel knew that Jason will sing with him in the battle round, he was scared for a second. The fact that you fear your enemy will have a great impact with your performance. That’s why he forgot his lyrics and sings Jason’s line and other wrong lyrics he had.
This is a competition. When one will make a mistake the other one will win. Even if the former has that soulful voice, he should still prepare himself well especially he's into The Voice. That was a SMART choice by the coach.
I would agree with you that Daniel's ali'l mistake matters that night if somebody from the coaches pointed it out. But nobody was. Reviewing what the four coaches said during the start of the battle, nobody said that the MASTERY OF THE LYRICS is one of the criteria. I guess there is OTHER BIG REASON why they didn't pick Daniel that night. Anyways, the result is being respected by us.

Myra Ombao Well, that came from my own point of view or opinion not from the coaches nor anyone else. Though I must say that Daniel's voice is really good and unique. There's a lot of room for improvement.

I love Daniel. I like his rawness; his voice gives me shivers. He is very good looking and definitely has a distinctive tone to his voice. He is the kind of singer that will surely sell albums. Jayson, on the other hand, is like a singer whom the Philippines would send to an international singing contest and win gold medals. I thought they were looking for the voice - the recording voice. That's probably why the previous winner has not recorded an album yet. Oh well…..

The difference between a talent for singing and a heart in singing. Daniel touches hearts when he sings while Jason is a just pure good singing voice.
You'll never get tired listening to Daniel's voice.
This song definitely fits Daniel's voice, husky and soulful.He lost to Jason mainly because of that little mistake & we all know that in this part of the competition, mistake is unbearable.Daniel seems to struggle with high notes while Jason uses his strength in falsetto to shine in this performance.
I beg to disagree. He's not struggling during the part of high notes rather he's just afraid coz he's lacking of confidence that time and that battle he didn't expect na c jason agad-agad makakaharap nya.
But the way he sang that song was really superb for me coz after the high notes as far as i see he's happily he got hit that and unfortunately he was overwhelmed maybe bcoz he didn't expect it that's y he got confused and forgot the lyrics of his part..
Maybe it's TVP not really meant yet for him rather hopefully this time with Idol of the Philippines.
In my honest opinion kabado na siya sa simula palang dahil he knows Jason Dy sangs perfectly when it comes sa runs pero kita naman lumaban siya at very soulful pa. He is not meant sa the Voice but on Idol Philippines :)
He lost to Jason not cause of lyrics but to voice overall. Dan struggled all through out and doesnt seem to know where to put his runs. Jason just devoured him alive
@@Natomac well it's ur opinion. He didn't struggle 1st of all coz that's the uniqueness of his voice. His tone was really ruspy from the beginning that's y marami ang nakaappreciate skanya. Kung power ng voice lang nman ang paguusapan obviously dan is much more power over jason. Besides, battle rounds yan 1 lang mananalo and unfortunately Dan didn't make it coz ayun nga na distract na sya and nagpahalata na nagkamali sya kaya malaking factor un ng pagkatalo nya.
Given that he was able to sing all the lyrics, Jason will still win. No question. Vocals, runs, riffs, falsetto, clarity name it Jason owned it.

It's so obvious that the song gives more advantage to Jason's voice than Daniel's. Coach Sarah should have chosen a song that would really challenge the two and not make it easy for Jason. But like what Coach Sarah said, Jason did a smart singing. He used his strength para ma pursue niya yung song. At first palang talaga sinabi ni Daniel na nahirapan siya sa kanta kasi sobrang taas kaya siguro kinakabahan siya at nakalimutan yung lyrics. But he fought till the end. Anyway, he's just 17. He has a lot of chances pa. I'm sure sasali yan ulit and by that time, professional na siya like Jason! Yung voice kasi ni Daniel, yung boses na hindi nakakasawang pakinggan kahit magkamali pa. :)

Really looking forward to daniels performances...kaya lng hay ang aga nya natanggal...techniques can be learned but the quality of daniels voice is very rare. .whats the point of hitting all the notes when you couldnt get into the heart of your listeners...I quote"sing with your mouth and we will listen with our ears, sing from your heart and we will listen with our heart"...I just hope daniels can make it into music industry eventhough he didnt make it here..

Daniel Ombao has the voice that you want to repeatedly listen to, one that would sell records. that's called x factor and a real male voice, ...on the other hand Jason Dy is a good singer but there's nothing in the voice just plain singing, too bad Daniel did not make it to the voting round where the people watching will decide.
