It took me 3 years to get a new wheelchair while the one i had was falling apart. Getting a new wheelchair for someone with a disability is a very big moment. It’s great that they let you test one aswell.
Spiritual Superheroes Coaching that’s why I’d love to know where she gets them from! Would love a better option then having there be something terribly wrong with mine and something happen to me before they let me get a new one!
How are you liking the new one? Any videos or reviews on it? Be careful, I have seen posts where the Carbon Fiber ones break on the frame. Since the Rogue doesn't come in Carbon Fibre, but Aluminum 700, I guess you don't need to worry about that too much. But I have seen where the cross bars (if a folding chair) broke.
the thicker wheels are considered mag style , there needs to be more videos like this because its a need to know thing when you don't know what the options are
Danielle, I noticed you are showing the Rogue wheelchair. The seating is made of polyethylene terephthalate (PET) material, which does cause health issues...such as nausea and such. www.ecowatch.com/7-types-of-plastic-wreaking-havoc-on-our-health-1882198584.html I just can't imagine why they don' have a tapered foot rest. That would be a deal breaker for me. The chair is also made of a high grade aluminum...not carbon fibre. A carbon fibre wheelchair goes for like $7,000.00...surely one insurance will not pay for. I can't tell, do you have a toe guard on the chair you are sitting in? Where did you find that? If you ever do not have a sling for your car keys...I have found a caribiner hooked on to your pants belt is a good key holder.
So buses and trains tie you down? Here in UK we just put our chair backs against the panel of the vehicle! Only time we tied down is on coaches and in cars x
In the US it depends on the bus or train company, some have tie down systems and some don't. So it's always best to do some research about the transportation you take before you order your chair here.
Where do u get your chairs from? Where I get mine from makes it really difficult for me to get a new one, took 15yrs for me to get a new one the first time, and it took for that one to break in half underneath, luckily I was at home when it happened, and I do not want it to happen again, they say I need a doctor’s prescription to get a new one and even then there has to be something drastically wrong to it to get a new one I guess, just seems wrong all together

It can definitely be a long process!
Great point, thank you for doing this. I do want to hear if the carbon chair is lighter.

Awesome info. What is the model of your new chair?
Thanks! It’s a Rogue made by Ki Mobility

@@taylorkh818 wonder why some use tie downs and some don't you'd think if it was a safety thing they'd all do it!
Interesting!
Very true!
I’m researching wheelchairs for a family member. Their current wheelchair isn’t outside/side walk friendly. Do you have any recommendations?
A year late but you may consider an attachment called a freewheel, helps lift the casters so you can go over uneven ground easier
