On transfers, I know you’ll hate to hear it but I don’t think you NEED a striker as much as you need other positions. In an ideal world yes absolutely you need a striker, left sided attacker and a midfielder. 100%. But the one that (in my opinion) upgrades your side the most would be a left sided attacker. Havertz and Jesus are not proper strikers but I do think you’d get a LOT more out of them if you had 2 goal scoring wingers, kind of like what we did with Bobby alongside Mo and Mane.
Maybe that’s less viable with Saka out long term though.
But as someone that’s seen both our clubs refuse to put their hands in their pockets during January a hell of a lot more times than not I wouldn’t be holding my breath on anything being done.

More often than not, Arsenal are reactive rather than proactive in the market. Players like Isak, Bruno G, and Kudus were all easily obtainable a few seasons ago. However, as usual, we're too slow, and despite the necessity, we're not spending any significant amount of money in January. This should have been addressed in the summer, and we were let down yet again.
The funds wasted on Pepe, Veira and Sambi Lonkonga would have easily gotten these players.😮

LW is the biggest problem, especially with Saka out. Kai has been clutch and will continue to be, Trossard is not clutch anymore, Martinelli had one good season and Jesus only shows up for Christmas. Kai is our strongest attacker right now, that is the problem.

As for me, I’d love Osimhen. Not saying he’s the reincarnation of R9, but he’s a massive upgrade on what we have and he’s available right now for a reasonable price. He’s the type of striker that would absolutely feast on all the crosses we put into the box. As for the winger, it’s all about Kvara or Rodrygo in the summer for me. Let’s reunite Kvara with Osimhen, people! You know our fan base love a rescue story 😂

LW - Proper winger to start, use Trossard as impact player off the bench and sell Martinelli (or loan if no good offers come incase he comes good again)
ST - Proper striker that is clinical and Havertz can be back up (not ideal due to his wages but whatever) and sell Jesus
RW - Proper back up to Saka, not a panic buy/loan like Sterling to shut up the fans
AM - Odegaard is an 8 not a 10. Shift him to 8 with Merino/Zinchenko as his back up (never play Zinchenko in defence ever again) and have Nwaneri as the back up to the proper 10.
DM - Partey and Jorginho contracts up in summer, bring in a proper player to challenge Rice and it gives us the versatility to push Rice to an 8 at times if we need to if we have injuries.
LB - Tierney is leaving, Zinchenko is shit at defending, Calafiori is injury prone, Tomiyasu is always injured and needs to be sold, Timber is better off the right.
RCB - Bring in proper back up to Gabriel, White is better as RB either to start or back up to Timber and Tomiyasu is always injured.
GK - Back up to Raya or just put faith in Hein if he is ready.
I count 8 players needed and all barring GK are a must so 7 needed best case scenario. This squad after 5 years still needs 8 players to sort the squad out which is a damning indictment to the job Arteta/Edu have done. It wasn't too long ago they were saying Arteta/Edu rarely missed with transfers but now it seems as if 75% of their transfers have been misses

Gyokeres - said he won’t leave in January
Osimhen - I like but thinking we will be able to get him in Jan and Isak in summer, and get a winger is just FIFA career mode talk
Lookman - in a title race, won’t leave in Jan
Williams - absolutely loves the club, whether we break the release clause or not, he won’t leave mid season.
Guler - has played in all of Madrids last 10 games. He is getting minutes. Dont think a loan is impossible but also not sure if we need a midfielder who can play wing on loan rather than buying a winger
There are wingers available in January (RE Semenyo), but basically all of these aren’t realistic in jan

You can blame the Kroenke's for the Wenger years but how can we blame them when we have spent the third highest amount in the last 5-6 years (£800+ Million) Under Mikel Arteta. They have finally splashed the cash on Arsenal but Arteta and Edu have wasted a lot of it. Our main issues are squad depth, lack of midfield / attacking signings, not having a proper striker for years now, relying on the same players who were not good enough for years like Nketiah, Jesus, Zinchenko, Sterling and now a flop Chelsea midfielder (Havertz) playing up top for £60 Million. All of these issues are down to the manager not the owners, Arteta has done many good things but he needs to correct these mistakes or his time will soon be up.

I genuinely don’t know why our fan base are so desperate to let the Kroenke’s off the hook. They hired inexperienced people and let them waste hundreds of millions of pounds. Is Mikel partly to blame, of course. But it all comes back to the owners and the decision they make.

All these players you mentioned will not be released by their clubs even if you raise the bar high...We have the whole summer to do the needful.

Yes I was calling for striker Gyokeres in the summer, but something that Arsenal will more likely do, cheaper/not in the best form (I think Jordan/someone brought up the point Arsenal almost never get players who are on fire, they look to 'invest'), is look at Kolo Muani.
For attacker/winger Kudus, Mbeumo, Madueke would set us up nicely, but club will look at Anthony or Rashford and think they've done the club a favour. Prove me wrong Arsenal.

The only guy on AFTV I find myself agreeing with 100% of the time. The only guy that makes sense. A realist, not a pessimist. I was absolutely incensed with the last minute signing of Stirling when we had the whole summer to address the forward line. We got a LB we didnt really need (and has been making mistakes), a MF who doesnt seem technically great.... I agree with the 6 signings mentioned here. On top of that we need 2 long term replacements for Partey and Jorginho and a permanent 2nd choice GK. Thats 9/10 signings this squad needs but aint gonna happen sadly.
