The reason Lecrae is so respected is because he's a Christian man who has a message, but he doesn't push Christianity on anyone. He spreads his beliefs through his actions and his songs, and doesn't judge people for what they believe. I feel like if more Christians were tolerant and humble like him, they wouldn't get such a bad reputation.
What would you say about John the baptists message then? Jesus called him the greatest prophet born of a woman, Yet the man called people "snakes." The world is shaping Christianity instead of Christianity shaping the world.. Our message has gotten soft.. So now the world is taking over! And the church is acting just like them! I never said it's not important to say the truth or spread the gospel, but Christ didn't come to the world to condemn it, he came to love and save it. There's a way to tell people of their sin and show them love without condemning them, and condemnation is not the most important job of christianity.

for the record, when asked about drinking.. Lecrae said it's okay to "kick ONE back" he never said it's ok to be drunk.. which in the bible says is clearly not ok. Lecrae is a highly intelligent man and artist, I pray God continues to use him in great ways.

Lecrae gets too much flack for what he has to say. He's point on about everything he's saying. The drinking, the clothing, all that. Doesn't matter. He wants you to come as you are to his music and hear the Message. He's not focused on changing hearts by changing actions, like most Christians are... He's focused on changing hearts, and allowing that to change their actions.
My pops is a pastor and he doesn't get a dime from the church. everything that comes in from the offering goes straight back into the church wether it's for rent or things for the Sunday school or instruments. we even help out people in the community. you're in that position to share Gods word and to help take care of the people. church isn't about money but so many people have lost sight of that.

I liked his answer about being committed to his wife and marriage (12:19) . Once a person understands that marriage is a temporal institution that reflects the eternal relationship between Christ and his people, commitment to one's spouse takes on a whole new meaning and value. There is no way you can say Lecrae is or isnt a man of God unless you know him. The Bible says you can tell if a person is a Christian by what fruit they produce, and I am pretty sure he's reaching more people for Christ through his music than anyone of us will in our whole lives. I am not saying he is perfect, dont get me wrong, but you cannot just say hes not a man of God because hes a rapper and rappers have the reputation of being non Christians.

Is it a good witness to be holding a beer and preaching to abstain from all appearance of evil like it says in 1 Thessalonians 5:22? No I don't think so. Is it wise to remain drinking when you have a past of drunken parties or even some moments of drunkenness? No. The bible says to flee from temptation. It may not be a sin to get into a situation that can temp you but it's not wise, it's foolish because anyone can fall into any deadly sins. 1 Corinthians 10:23 "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." The bible also says 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." So you have to ask the question "What is my purpose in drinking alcohol? Is it to glorify God or is it just a selfish desire?" If it is a selfish desire than it would be wise to cast it away.

This dude & his manager came to the Motown Museum in Detroit and were straight HOLLYWOOD! His manager asking "Can we get this started? My artist is getting bombarded!" I swear it was maybe ten Clark Atlanta students who came for a tour and wanted his autograph. Big deal! The tour is full of interaction which Lecrae did nothing. It was almost 35 of us altogether. Teenage years are so hard. friends pressure to act “grown-up” and go to those parties where kids are drinking, or to see how fun you are “wasted!” hear well Lecrae thinks its ok to have some!, how does that influence them? Influence is the most precious asset any Christian has to “let their light shine” to others. It can so easily be compromised. Christians should abstain from alcohol because of the tremendous risk it poses to our influence with others. With so many other reasons. All so there are so many who are in bondage to alcohol.
The separation of "Christian rappers" (Lecrae, NF, Andy Mineo) and rappers that are Christians (Kendrick Lamar, Logic, Tupac) is mainly whether or not they cuss. The fear of profanity in the Christian community is a big problem for leading young people from God, in my opinion.
But the things they talk about are so different. Christian rappers are here to uplift people and show the word of God. Regular rappers talk about money, women, and pleasures.

Tupac believed in a God but he said before hes not a Christian. And I struggle with cursing. I know Jesus said not to be hateful and speak evil things but i feel like that means not to cuss at people or scheme up some evil stuff but others say he meant cussing too.
A women's or man's naked body (porn in your context) is sacred. It was intended to be beautiful and in the context of marriage (in the context God intended) it's not evil. But when you take those images and put them in the context outside of marriage that's when they become evil.

Authentic1109 You're reading those scriptures out of context. It is talking about drinking in excess to the point of intoxication. Also in the torah/the first five books there is not a law that condemns drinking. According to your doctrine Jesus would be considered a sinner because he drinks, which contradicts the scriptures because he was the word/law manifested in the flesh.

The reason Lecrae is so respected is because he's a Christian man who has a message, but he doesn't push Christianity on anyone. He spreads his beliefs through his actions and his songs, and doesn't judge people for what they believe. I feel like if more Christians were tolerant and humble like him, they wouldn't get such a bad reputation.

I never said it's not important to say the truth or spread the gospel, but Christ didn't come to the world to condemn it, he came to love and save it. There's a way to tell people of their sin and show them love without condemning them, and condemnation is not the most important job of christianity.

I'd also like to clarify that Jesus drank wine because back then it was very hard to come by clean drinkable water, so everybody drank wine with their food as it was clean and drinkable.

I do not listen to a lot of rap music so I haven't heard much of "Lecrae The Rapper" but I find his preaching very inspirational.Keep up the good work Lecrae for you are definitely changing lives, mine included.
I don't understand how people could be overly critical of Lecrae when they're not doing half of the things that he's doin. The Bible says you can tell if a person is a Christian by what fruit they produce, and I am pretty sure he's reaching more people for Christ through his music than anyone of us will in our whole lives. I am not saying he is perfect, dont get me wrong, but you cannot just say hes not a man of God because hes a rapper and rappers have the reputation of being non Christians.

Is it wise to remain drinking when you have a past of drunken parties or even some moments of drunkenness? No. The bible says to flee from temptation. It may not be a sin to get into a situation that can temp you but it's not wise, it's foolish because anyone can fall into any deadly sins. 1 Corinthians 10:23 "All things are lawful for me, but all things are not expedient: all things are lawful for me, but all things edify not." The bible also says 1 Corinthians 10:31 "Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God." So you have to ask the question "What is my purpose in drinking alcohol? Is it to glorify God or is it just a selfish desire?" If it is a selfish desire than it would be wise to cast it away.

This dude & his manager came to the Motown Museum in Detroit and were straight HOLLYWOOD! His manager asking "Can we get this started? My artist is getting bombarded!" I swear it was maybe ten Clark Atlanta students who came for a tour and wanted his autograph. Big deal! The tour is full of interaction which Lecrae did nothing. It was almost 35 of us altogether. I was the only one in my group who recognized him and I was disappointed!
I like Lecrae but as a young boy following Christ it makes me sad that he would in this interview condone skulls and throwing back one. it seems the words he rap are powerful words of God, but seems in some things he says, he is justifying the word for them. The problem we have with what Lecrae is saying is, He said to the unsaved man he could kick one back, if he wants and then the man said oh I will! But do you drink? and he said he don’t because of being healthy and that he don’t go to strip clubs because he’s married . Not because he is born again not he’s out with the old man in with the new man in Christ Jesus!! He could of said what you do is between you and God but I don’t do those things because I am new in Christ and I live what I rap. Once I was blind but now I see! once I was lost now I’m found! Alcohol is not like it was in bible day. Even the smallest can cloud your vision and we are to be called to be sober minded. There is so much more on this. (good info I got says) Even One Drink Impairs Judgment We all have heard stories about pilots, bus drivers, train engineers, air traffic controllers, or others having serious lapses in judgment because of being impaired by even a small amount of alcohol. I see as Christians who want to drink take this to justified what they want to do.

The separation of "Christian rappers" (Lecrae, NF, Andy Mineo) and rappers that are Christians (Kendrick Lamar, Logic, Tupac) is mainly whether or not they cuss. The fear of profanity in the Christian community is a big problem for leading young people from God, in my opinion.
But the things they talk about are so different. Christian rappers are here to uplift people and show the word of God. Regular rappers talk about money, women, and pleasures.
camNfamILY That's simply not true. There are many examples of "secular" rappers that have a very uplifting message, even a Christian one. Examples: Kendrick Lamar and Logic are both secular artists that give uplifting Christian messages.

Tupac believed in a God but he said before hes not a Christian. And I struggle with cursing. I know Jesus said not to be hateful and speak evil things but i feel like that means not to cuss at people or scheme up some evil stuff but others say he meant cussing too.

A women's or man's naked body (porn in your context) is sacred. It was intended to be beautiful and in the context of marriage (in the context God intended) it's not evil. But when you take those images and put them in the context outside of marriage that's when they become evil.

Authentic1109 You're reading those scriptures out of context. It is talking about drinking in excess to the point of intoxication. Also in the torah/the first five books there is not a law that condemns drinking. According to your doctrine Jesus would be considered a sinner because he drinks, which contradicts the scriptures because he was the word/law manifested in the flesh.
