If all the micro transactions are kept to just cosmetics or optional add one that don't effect gameplay I could care less as EA is not the developer just the publisher. The most power they have is controlling publicity and how micro transactions are to be implemented to generate money not where they go.

I believe that this is the custom games mode, pretty much every Battlefield mashed into one custom games, thus why it shows knives vs Defibs. The rest of the game is a complete reboot of the franchise from what I've heard, but not too sure.

@EE at 0:24, one of the soldiers had a ww1 British uniform. At 0:51 the map is a battlefield 1" in name of the tsar" DLC map. Again 1:52 ww1 British uniform. At 0:14 a weapon is from battlefield 1. 0:43 2 maps are from battlefield 1
I recommended years ago that they come out with a game called Battlefields and it's every war thrown into one game, like DLC but its a different conflict; Vietnam era/Modern/Future

There are gonna be things the devs could never have anticipated purely bc of the sheer number of players hopping on. As long as it isn't full on broken and they clear up launch issues relatively fast it's a successful launch imo. Perhaps this is naive of me but I'm shocked modern games on this level are even possible. This is BF, not some derpy 2d game. Not many franchises operate on this scale and utilize this level of tech. Portal mode was saved by the highlights that occasionally appear, like the Air & Land Superiority highlight, the Gun Master highlight, Deja Vu where you can have BC2 classes struggle against each other in horrid maps, et cetera. In other words, the developers had to make Portal stand out. Not the community. Maybe the players weren’t given nearly enough tools, maps, and eras for custom games, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that the browser is full of XP farm servers and that the only remotely unique thing sitting at the top of the browser is Afghanistan War Sim, which stops itself from being good so easily because El Alamein is a God awful map. People are out here saying this mode was falsely advertised are only partially right. We never got to see 2042 soldiers running around with garands especially. But who made the server browser full of XP farms and AI infested hell holes with one bootleg Squad server? You. We shouldn’t have had to rely on the highlights that the developers added in. I’m still thankful I did, but please don’t sit there and go “God Portal was a let down.” The community had the tools bro. You let yourselves down.
I feel like the community could have made a lot of awesome experiences if they were given a much more simpler way to modify game rules and if the community was more invested into it. A lot of portal requires you to understand basic chunk coding and without said experiences most of the servers were pretty generic. I learned how to code weapons and class restrictions in portal for the Bad Company guys to use modern BF3 weapons, only to lose interest because such game mode like this would probably not gain much traction and be overshadowed by XP maps and Milsim Maps. As much as I would blame the community for portal being a let down I feel like dice could have went for a far cry 5 arcade map creator type engine instead. Make it simple to make a Map and such or to make a specific objective/game mode without code learning.
After they did what they want with bf5 and said "accept it or don't buy it" only to face a colossal failure they learned their lesson and did what players want

It's also possible that they'll include BF Vietnam. But if they don't, then that could could be a hint of it being their next Battlefield game after 2042 [because seriously, what could they do next].

This trailer didn't just surpass our expectations, it took our expectations on a fancy dinner date and then proceeded to f**k our expectations' brains out.

Tbh what made "Only in Battlefield moments" real "Only in Battlefield moments", was the randomness. With these trailers I feel like they arent really only in battlefield moments but more planned out mechanics. Shooting a bike with C4 in the air while playing BF3 CTF was hillarious and funny because it wasnt how you were supposed to play the game. With the new BF trailers I feel like they want to makes this part of the game which I think isnt a good idea and takes the whole point. Rendezooking, ramming a Little Bird with an vehicle, shooting a buggy in the air to hit aircrafts...it's just something I dont want to have in a Battlefield trailer.

In other words, the developers had to make Portal stand out. Not the community. Maybe the players weren’t given nearly enough tools, maps, and eras for custom games, but that doesn’t excuse the fact that the browser is full of XP farm servers and that the only remotely unique thing sitting at the top of the browser is Afghanistan War Sim, which stops itself from being good so easily because El Alamein is a God awful map.
People are out here saying this mode was falsely advertised are only partially right. We never got to see 2042 soldiers running around with garands especially. But who made the server browser full of XP farms and AI infested hell holes with one bootleg Squad server?

We shouldn’t have had to rely on the highlights that the developers added in. I’m still thankful I did, but please don’t sit there and go “God Portal was a let down.” The community had the tools bro. You let yourselves down.
I feel like the community could have made a lot of awesome experiences if they were given a much more simpler way to modify game rules and if the community was more invested into it.
A lot of portal requires you to understand basic chunk coding and without said experiences most of the servers were pretty generic.
I learned how to code weapons and class restrictions in portal for the Bad Company guys to use modern BF3 weapons, only to lose interest because such game mode like this would probably not gain much traction and be overshadowed by XP maps and Milsim Maps.
As much as I would blame the community for portal being a let down I feel like dice could have went for a far cry 5 arcade map creator type engine instead.
Make it simple to make a Map and such or to make a specific objective/game mode without code learning.
They really just took the “Only In Battlefield” tagline and turned it into it’s own standalone experience, this is gonna be insane.

It's also possible that they'll include BF Vietnam. But if they don't, then that could could be a hint of it being their next Battlefield game after 2042 [because seriously, what could they do next].

Tbh what made "Only in Battlefield moments" real "Only in Battlefield moments", was the randomness. With these trailers I feel like they arent really only in battlefield moments but more planned out mechanics. Shooting a bike with C4 in the air while playing BF3 CTF was hillarious and funny because it wasnt how you were supposed to play the game. With the new BF trailers I feel like they want to makes this part of the game which I think isnt a good idea and takes the whole point. Rendezooking, ramming a Little Bird with an vehicle, shooting a buggy in the air to hit aircrafts...it's just something I dont want to have in a Battlefield trailer.
