I didn't know that different pads were made for different speeds. Great information. I took over my dad's cleaning business after his stroke. We did a few strip and wax jobs before that, but now I only do it for one of my janitorial contracts. I use the buffer. Great video.
Thank you. Just got one of these at my workplace and have never used one. I will definitely heed the warning of too much pressure. You may have just saved me a hole in the wall or worse.
Thank you, I'm trying something different this time at work instead of scrubbing/waxing. The burnisher we have is an Advance but not high speed, getting good results with the pink pad but not so much with the white.Good to know that I had a great floor care teacher many, many moons ago. Very good tutorial!
Awesome to hear Karen - that is exactly why we put these videos out, because it certainly is difficult to learn these movements. Best of luck moving forward, we are glad to have helped!
Up early.. O423.. Learning how to use both.. I was nervous but after this GREAT DEMONSTRATION I'M CONFIDENT THAT I WILL SUCCEED IN MY NEW BUSINESS!!! THANK YOU GREATLY!!
Wow very helpful and technical advice I’m going to be starting a new job and I’m going to get training in this very specific field I have a background in welding and metal fabrication just wanted to do something different and I have respect for your skills and techniques sir thank you

Im curious if you tried it yet. My thoughts are "it depends on what kind of epoxy and if there is a clear coat" It should buff some scratches out and smooth it, but the epoxy might be too hard and it may do nothing. As long as you don't use a too abrasive pad the worst thing that can happen is you just clean it a little by dry/wet sanding.
Hello! Thanks for watching. Great Question! Without seeing a picture of the floor, the general rule with epoxy floors is that a red pad should clean it well with the correct chemical. A blue pad may work but could scratch the epoxy. If you decide to try to the blue pad, make sure to test it it in a small, inconspicuous area first. Epoxy-finished floors are fairly soft, so you must be cautious of the pads used. That said, the floor cleaner is also a factor. Never use a heavy-duty degreaser as this could also damage the floor. It can be tough to remove black marks, but with an all-purpose cleaner and a red pad, you should get a decent result. I have a 175 from powrflite, it goes to the left side only I can't make it go back to the right, what should be the problem? I have use it only once no experience with it.
There are different burnishers, what rpm is yours on ? The thing is the lighter pads are weaker and softer, and can literally start burning from the friction.
Hi there! Thanks for watching. Unfortunately, an automatic floor scrubber is not the best machine to remove wax from your floor. The machine does not have enough pressure to adequately remove finish. We recommend a swing machine for floor stripping. Aside from reduced pressure, using an automatic floor scrubber to strip wax from the floor can result in machine damage because there is now way to properly clean she stripper and wax residue from the bottom of the machine leading to mechanical failure.

Hi! Thanks for watching our videos. We do not recommend using a mop and bucket to perform floor cleaning procedures. This method is outdated, time consuming and inefficient. To add, a mop and bucket can actually spread more germs and contaminants than clean. To learn more about the differences between a mop and bucket and an autoscrubber, check out this article: www.imperialdade.com/blog/auto-scrubber-vs-mop-and-bucket
Thank you for the tip, noted - we were concentrating more on the operation of the unit than the mechanics of the pad driver application. Had this been a real job, we would certainly recommend taking extra care for the floor at all times. We appreciate your feedback.
Thank you for your tip. Its definitely good practice to load the pad without the machine plugged in usually. This machine does have a safety that needs to be depressed at the same time the triggers are pulled - so there was not a chance of it starting on accident. On machines with no safety, absolutely do not plug in the machine before putting the pad on.
Hello! Thanks for watching our video! Floor burnishers, while similar in appearance to floor burnshers, serve a different purpose. Buffers and burnishers perform different tasks, and it is important to use the proper machine for the right job. Using the wrong machine to perform a selected cleaning procedure can cause damage to your floor and equipment. Floor buffers are low-speed, operate in a side-to-side motion, and can be used for various applications, including cleaning, stripping, scrubbing, or buffing. Floor buffers, on the other hand, are high-speed machines that drive straight and are only used for floor polishing. For more information on the differences between the two machines, check out our article and video: www.imperialdade.com/blog/differences-between-floor-buffers-and-burnishers
@-Bryan- the wax gets burned if I leave it in the same area too long, the motor does fine as long as I keep the fight pressure against the pad. The red pad would get me the best finished product but the floors I was burnishing had about 10 layers of wax on them
Hello! Thanks for watching! You are correct. Both floor buffers and floor burnishers appear to look the same, and many confuse the two machines. However, they are two totally different machines used for unique cleaning procedures. A floor buffer is primarily used to strip or remove wax from the floor. Depending on the floor pad, it can also be used to buff, clean, or scrub dirt and scuff marks away. Floor burnishers are only used to polish floors to achieve a high gloss shine. If I spray buff with a swingarm and white pads should I do 175 rpms or go with the higher setting on the swingarm?
Good video, not a clue about this now I do
At work we have grey epoxy floors. Once I have the floors clean is it okay to use a burnishing pad to help give the floors some gloss?
Im curious if you tried it yet. thanks! which one would be safe and provide great results for cleaning/buffering an epoxy covered floor? There are many black marks on the floor

I white pad with my burnisher(dont have buffer) and it does pretty well.
There are different burnishers, what rpm is yours on ? The thing is the lighter pads are weaker and softer, and can literally start burning from the friction.
We have a walk behind T300 autoscrubber , can that do a quality job stripping vct tile compared to Swing arm machine?

Hi, Do you have an outlet Company here in Australia specifically in Queensland? Thank you
Thank you for watching our video ALL THE WAY in Australia! That's awesome! Unfortunately, we do not have any connections outside of the United States.
Can I use a mop as well

This is better than my jobs training they called the burnished a buffef
Put a little rubber bumper on the rear of that handle. You bumped the floor twice when loading the buffer.
Thank you for the tip, noted - we were concentrating more on the operation of the unit than the mechanics of the pad driver application. Had this been a real job, we would certainly recommend taking extra care for the floor at all times. We appreciate your feedback.
LOL. Ok, but I was more concerned about the handle getting damaged.
Great video but we never suggest allowing the handles to slam to the floor like that just a suggestion.
Can you use a Burnisher in the same manner as a Buffer?
Nice videos a question do you think viper buffer 20"its a good brand and works good?
Hi Alexander - YES, Viper is an outstanding machine. We did an overview of the machine, check it out here: ua-cam.com/video/06XGq80Cml0/v-deo.html
Hey great video ! Just a pro tip - never have the machine plugged in while placing your pads !
Thank you for your tip. Its definitely good practice to load the pad without the machine plugged in usually. What about a red pad? I use a red pad with the 2000 rpm machine
You don't burn the wax? Red pad is more abrasive more friction, one of our custodians burned a burnisher motor up with it.
@-Bryan- the wax gets burned if I leave it in the same area too long, the motor does fine as long as I keep the fight pressure against the pad. The red pad would get me the best finished product but the floors I was burnishing had about 10 layers of wax on them
