I got a 124 a few years ago and... sadly it's just been sitting in a drawer most of the time. Oh, I LOVE the way it looks, just haven't been able to find an application for it that justifies lugging its weight around, or putting up with the ergonomic challenges it's got.
A great visual is to lay a Buck 119 (everyone in the world knows what this knife looks like, probably 10,000 videos online about the 119) and a Buck 124 side by side and then top down view to show the massive hand guard and heavy duty extra thick blade on the 124. It's too bad Buck has always been so off and on with the production of the 124. If you see one available, you better buy it on the spot. The amount of 124's for sale has always been limited, or not even available. If you have a 110 folding along with a 119 and 124 fixed, you are set for life and will never need anything else.
@@TheMartialist Received it today. I give it a 10/10! Beautiful knife and came razor sharp. Really a superb knife! Buck has really quick shipping than I’m used to.
They’re starting to! I can’t wait for this piece in Magnacut, even if it costs an arm and a leg. Also, the steel they use is tough but easy to sharpen. That’s really, really hard to achieve. But, I am with you in thinking that Buck needs to step into the future. They’re getting there! I think in the next five years many of their offerings will be in Magnacut.
The 124 is my all time favourite . Would be on my belt on a dinosaur hunt or eotwawki .
Lot of meat on a dinosaur
I just ordered mine today. They had been out of stock for a few weeks. Now and thankfully its back in stock now.
It’s a great knife!!
Gene Moe killed a Kodiak Bear with a Buck 110 back in 1999. I bet he would have rather had a 124 Frontiersman.
I can't imagine having to fight off a bear with a 110. That's crazy!

The problem with small swords is they’re giant knives

Thanks for the great comment, and for watching
I like it, just ordered mine few days ago. Shipment on the way!
Let me know what you think when you get it in hand!

@michaelhodges8312 I just ordered mine today. Thankfully it's on it's way now.
I love it so.
It's one of my cooler pieces, and super solid!
Buck 119 all the way baby! Unless I’m never going to use a knife to fight. Then this works.
The Buck 119 is a classic!
I would use this knife in a fight and win
it is functionally and structurally similar to the British Army survival knife
I'll check it out!
The MOD 4?
Awesome!
It's a badass blade, but I heard it can be tricky to track down because Buck keeps discontinuing it.
@@TheMartialist no doubt.
I got mine the other day. Its almost too beautiful and expensive to use 😆
It's a piece that is hard to match, that's for sure. I'm going to use mine, though. It's too badass not to!
Well, 420HC is a pretty low carbon steel.
It’s got a 6 inch cutting edge, not 7.
Most dudes own one and don't even use it. Mine stays in my gun safe. I use cheaper Bowie's for chopping and such.
I didn’t know this when I filmed the video, but it started out life as a dive knife. I don’t carry mine hardly ever-only on special occasions.
You would think for $200 they would use better steel. Not 440.

Watch the Joe X videos of the buck in 420 HC vs super steel. The 420hc were insane. Lasted wayyyy longer than super steels.
Look like that was 10 in to me
Maybe
