I have my G4 connected, but the software is not recognizing the device. I get a message saying NO DEVICE CONNECTED. The G4 is charging, and I have programmed in the past. I am wondering if it is a Com port issue? My USB ports are on Com5 and I am not sure if the PPS software is looking for another Com port.
@@RadioGeek I’m using a cable purchased from the same dealer i purchased the G4 from and it also won’t show on the connected devices although my computer shows it’s connected. Any ideas?
All you need to do is email, p25firmware@unication.com You will then receive a email with the software. You have to program the frequencies via the software, you can put scan list on a selection or just one channel depending on how you want it to work. You will want to think of the 8 selections as functions rather then channels because they tell the pager what to do not so much individual channels.
@@RadioGeek I see that you have a few Wisconsin profiles for the G4 do you mind sending me your email if you don't mind because I'm going to be ordering a g for shortly because Milwaukee Waukesha counties have gone to a 800 p25 digital trunked system and I would like to get some pointers and how to separate the two sites and program what I want in there so when I travel County to County I can easily flip a zone or two and be done without extensive programming or would you mind creating a profile code plug with Milwaukee / Waukesha systems in it I have the software I just was wondering if you could email me Accord plug already with that stuff in it so all I would have to do upon receiving my new G4 in the mail I could just pop it into the computer and upload it directly to the pager and be done with it that way I can start enjoying listening again kind of like Plug and Play set it and forget it thing
This video does not address programming from scratch whatsoever
This is only introduction to the software. Programming the pager will depend on ones needs as this pager can be used for a wide variety of purposes.

Go to the unication website and download the driver.
Some USB ccables will only charge the pager and not program it, make sure you are using the original USB cable or a decent aftermarket one.

How do you get the software? Can you just put in the pager and change the frequencies on each of the 8 channels?

is this a police scanner?
Not by design, this is meant for public safety personnel to use for
alerting. However many are using it as a scanner on P25 Trunking
systems.
Radio Geek ok thank you
