Blended with this chorally-strong backing section which feels inspired by both your local Christmas carolling choir and city pop, STARLIGHT has the potential to become the favourite of otaku more broadly because of how familiar it is, a warm hug next to the fireplace of the past (kind of similar to Snow Halation). Run-chan has leveled up once again, now incorporating woodblock to fit in with the vibe that they're going for, fitting in with that ballad pop vibe that so many artists I grew up with are known for (Backstreet Boys, Celine Dion, etc). Mirai-chan's lead vocal feels... so much more comfortable. Compare the almost nervousness of Garnet to this and it's night and day, I feel like she's gotten comfortable in her skin as a vocalist now. Once again, Matsuoka-san, Noko-chan, and Natsuyoshi-sama form the soul of this song, really giving us the thickness of the chords, but they're so important here to give this song that feeling. It's not just instrumentation, this is the most choir-y song they've done, and it falls apart without being in complete sync and lock-step. Notes out of place, held too long, kill a song like this. Powered by, of course, Haruka-chan's bass, which is harder now that she has to sustain these low notes for more than a quarter note while also going back to the more instrumental, rhythmic bass that we know as MilleFam. She really has become a weapon of A Cappella.
Starlight良いなぁ。
ベース、ボイパのリズム隊2人が最高過ぎる。
浄化される……コーラスが美しすぎる……
No Lead Vocal ver.でじっくり聴くのも楽しみです
