I don't think I've ever made something as strange as this; it's a music video-ish AMV with a Japanese song (strangely enough, the first I've ever used) mixing live action clips and anime, and then I even added the English lyrics - it's like the platypus of AMV-making xD
This video is quite SebastianxCiel shippy - for obvious reasons ^^ When I watched that scene in the musical, I myself was pretty surprised at this, uhm, "outburst" (for lack of a better word xD ) of Sebastian's because at first I thought it was simply the obligatory RABU-song that doesn't actually mean anything - like an ending theme -, but the way he sang it to/about Ciel was rather blunt ^^
I hope I captured that "music video" style alright (^-^)
(Of course, it would be a dream come true if someone actually mistook this for being real, but I guess that won't happen.... feel free to indulge me though XD )

Yuya Matsushita is simply one hell of a singer. He is the only Sebastian for me ❤️❤️
This is a love song and I am so down for that!
I really like this video! I do feel that Sebastian grew closer to Ciel than he ever meant to. The time they spent together climbing out of despair (loneliness and hunger) to being in a position of power (pride in watching his masterpiece grow) would have been very intense and enticing. I felt that yes, the mask was there in the beginning and towards the end Sebastian grew a little more grounded or human...as Ciel grew jaded and darker. I don't believe that Sebastian truly loved Ciel, but I do believe that he came as close as he could to it (him being what he is)and that he cared for and was very much bound (quite happily so) to his Master. He had a lust for his meal and enjoyed the torment of not knowing exactly when he'd finally get to eat; as the first taste would have been better than anything else on that plain of existence(and more). I think Ciel actually made Sebastian's life more interesting and exciting, even and especially when Ciel made demands of him. Sebastian seemed to love making others squirm as he toyed with them, except I truly don't think he ever truly understood why the maid was so clumsy around him (perhaps it was because he understood lust and the basics of love, but not an innocent crush.) I think he actually enjoyed the servants(even though he complained about them like they were little kids) as he always had something to do and even learn (which was probably pretty rare considering how old he was) like the spice mixing for the curry or fixing their destruction. His being a butler and the contract he had with Ciel, truly allowed him to live and for that I believe he went above the demands placed on him as a way of saying thank you for relieving me of my boredom (and the future meal hehehe!) My favorite things about Sebastian are his confident way in speaking and body language. He knows what he can and can't do, he takes pride in himself and abilities and he has the voice and eyes of a predator. I totally understand Grell, Sebastian is one hot, devil of a butler!

Some are like they like in a platonic manner and once he is an adult become romantic. A lot of the fics are soulmate concepts, like seb finds out ciel is his mate but waits till he is an adult.

@@strebbie8023 This manga is not for "normal" perspective. Also Ciel was engaged to be married to Elizabeth or did u forget that? Also Sebastian is immortal. Doesn't count. Many ship "Adult Ciel" which is fine. We have tons of manga like Isekai ones out there with 16yr old/18yr old+10k year old king etc. Age gaps are fine as long as it doesn't show the actual age cause magic. In Japan u can marry at age 16. Age of consent is diff in every country.

This was great for me, right up until the end. Sebastian and Ciel are not romantically linked. Yes, Sebastian has a new understanding of humanity due to this contract, but he doesn't LOVE Ciel. Not like that. He may be fond of him...like a son, or a hint of paternal caring, but just a hint. He is, after all, a demon. He has a job to do, and a reward to collect once finished.
I'm not sure what it is about the end of the video that strikes you as more romantic than the rest of it, but I'll take it ^^
As for the other things you say, you don't sound particularly interested in hearing anyone else's opinion, but since you left this on my video I feel inclined to respond anyway.
As I see it, contrasting Sebastian's personal "feelings" for Ciel against his desire to eat his soul is a bit of a false dichotomy. True - Sebastian is in it for the soul, but that is because to him, it is the *perfect* soul. It is implied at several points that Sebastian thinks Ciel's soul to be superior to any other (and perhaps even expects it to be the last one he consumes).
However, the thing that makes Sebastian's contract with Ciel so fundamentally different to any other he's had is that this time, Sebastian *understands* that what gives a soul flavour in the first place is the person it belongs to. Soul and core are the same thing - after all, within the show itself, heart and soul are so closely connected that the heart stops beating without a soul, and the soul can hold no memories without a heart. Therefore, when - for what it's worth - Sebastian "loves" Ciel's soul, his desire is inextricably linked to Ciel the person too.
Which is why Sebastian works so hard to not merely fulfill his duty (most obvious when he seriously jeopardises their contract toward the end of season 1 by taking unauthorised leave, not knowing if Ciel will call him back to his side in time), but primarily to help Ciel become the person he was meant to be. In fact, there are many things that Sebastian does that are either unnecessary or directly work against simply "collecting a reward".
Eyes on the prize, sure - but with Ciel, the prize was never as uncomplicated as mere nourishment.
"you don't sound particularly interested in hearing other people's opinions..." that's a powerful way to start a counterpoint, bravo. I wasn't particularly nasty with my original comment. As it were, I'm fully aware of a LARGE number of fans who are very much supportive of this pairing. I simply don't happen to be; besides ignoring basic human emotion and relationship archetypes that allow for intimacy unlinked to either romance OR sexuality. If it winds up being that Ciel hits the magic number for sexual consent and something jumps off, I will accept it. This story is well worth the read, regardless of my personal opinions. I simply don't get a romantic vibe from either the manga or the anine between the two. Their relationship is almost familial to me, like older/younger cousins or something similar...family friend, maybe. Just my $0.02.

Especially seeing as in your initial comment you did not phrase anything as a personal perception, but rather as objective truths (as in, at no point did you say "the way I see it" or "my take on it is" etc). That was also the entire reason I chose to argue against you in the first place - to clarify that there are other valid ways to view the relationship (which apparently you were well aware of, yet seemed to ignore).
You are fully entitled to your opinion as far as I'm concerned, so if you had simply said that you *personally* disagree, I would have found nothing wrong with what you said or how you said it.

AcenPhina thank you for the clarification. I definitely needed that- I am having an off day. I must still stand by my original comment, but let me add some support to it- Yana has stated previously in a blog post that was translated that Sebastian and Ciel aren't romantically linked (also not yet being ready to reveal the link). Could it have been mistranslated, accidentally or intentionally? Of course. But thus far, it's a no-go. Again, if this does change, it won't stop my reading of it- I ADORE GRELL DEEPLY, and have no issue with non M/F pairings, whatsoever. I simply don't view them this way, thusly liking most of this song you have posted...right up until the end, where it hinted at romance that I have an understanding doesn't fit the storyline. -shrugs- make of it what you will. I would still die of happiness to see this musical live, however I feel about it!
