Still in 2021 there are farmers with lack of maintenance..... Not much is changed since.
Correct, you are absolutely 100% right there, some farmers like myself can fix anything while there are others who dont deserve to be even let near machinery.
Yes and unfortunately because many farmers never own there equipement. Just finance them long enough to trade them in for something newer.
Run them like mad for a few years, then let someone else repair.
A few of my neighbors are this way, one in particular has Dairy cows, and some of the truck drivers we have haul our grain to sale have threatened to call ASPCA on him. He has no idea what he is doing, he adds 2 months onto anything he does such as planting. And my favorite he tries to spread manure without beaters on the back of his spreader so it just sits there in big clumps.
Poor Green seems to be a bit off a bollocks. He should have decked that guy with the camera 😃😃😃

Loved it. These historic documents really give you a feel for things of a different time.
We have a Fordson super major tractor 1964...
the basics stilll apply....fail to prepare ..prepare to fail.
As my sainted grandad used to say , the cheapest tool is the most expensive to buy if you look after it . Don't look after it and you'll pay more over the years .

I'm positive about the negative but I'm little negative about the positive.
We have 2 Fordson majors, great tractors,, they will go all day on 1 gallon.. Regular oil changes, filters etc.. And we also have finger mower we use on these,, perfect match.. Great video. Memories are incredible.

Now days tractor's trucks and cars you need 10 thousand dollars worth of tools and computers and collage degree to work on them. So simpler back then

Farmer Green is going to get his arm broken. I have a tractor with a crank, but I keep a charger/maintainer on the battery. When I have started it by crank I start at 12:00 and make one quick thrust down to 6:00 and pull it out in one fluid motion. There is a bevel that is supposed to throw the crank out. I keep it greased. And I don't wrap my thumb around.
Farmer Brown seems to have Coon dogs judging by the dog box on the trailer.

That type trailer and toolbox were very widely used by the County Agricultural Executive Committee that had tractors with drivers for hire to famers during WW 2 to help increase production. Later became part of the Ministry Of Agriculture Fisheries & Food

It is a "Lea" plough with a long moldboard that is built for ploughing grass pasture lands.
