Indonesian food is indeed influenced by various cultures from several countries, but the spices of each Indonesian dish are not influenced by the culture of any country. Indonesian cuisine has its own herbs and spices. Has its own composition. Indonesian spices and herbs are the most complete. That's why the Dutch first colonized Indonesia. One of the reasons is because they wants to master Indonesian spices

My Indonesian friend once took myself and another friend to an Indonesian restaurant in Westwood, CA near the UCLA campus and it was really good. Can't remember the name of the place, unfortunately.

I didn't know Borneo was a Michelin starred restaurant. I just ordered from an app when I was in the area and proceeded to have my mind completely blown by how good it was. I went to LaaLaaPan around where I live, and they were freakin' amazing too. I'm surprised not to see them in this video.

You should include Medan Kitchen in Rosemead. All these other restaurants are pretty good for people who have never tried Indonesian food. But Medan Kitchen has some of the most diverse options in LA for Indonesian food- the flavors are also a lot more bold/ authentic compared to the places mentioned here.

Try LaaLaaPan its the best Indonesian Food in LA in my opinion, made by an Indonesian. I love their pompano grilled fish. Simpang Asia feels like a chain it was mid. Mr. Sate does have the best Indonesian skewers. And I’ll have to try Borneo Eatery!

hello, there. I just wanted you to know that I'm grateful to see how excited you are in trying our cuisines and this is a reminder for me personally to be grateful for our culinary heritage. however, I'm a bit disappointed because the Indonesian lady could've answer your questions with more detailed information, but she didn't. anyways, thank you for loving some of the most famous Indonesian (fusion) dishes-you should try our desserts, and I wish you the best from afar.

Food is not influenced by India, only by the Netherlands and China, but most of it is created with its own distinctive Indonesian characteristics, because Indonesia has many spices which is why it was colonized by the Netherlands.

Because Indonesia has a diversity of spices that are characteristic of Indonesian food that no other country has. Even Thailand only uses coriander leaves in all its dishes with a very strong sour taste.
Unlike in European and Western countries, they only use a little spice and it tastes bland. Only use Pepper, Oregano, Basil & Parsley. So it feels boring, right...? Every day just eat bread, pizza, spaghetti, sausages, burgers. Not many variants are made. Meanwhile, Indonesia has more than 5,300 types of food from Sabang to Merauke. With more than 17,500 islands with the 4th largest population in the world.
Once you try Indonesian food, you will definitely be addicted again, right? Search and try again over and over again in every different taste. Indonesian food is really delicious. Food heaven only exists in Indonesia.
