A very talented and determined artist . While riding her bicycle in Philadelphia in November 2003, Gardot was struck by an SUV and sustained head, spinal, and pelvic injuries. Confined to a hospital bed for a year, she needed to relearn simple tasks and was left oversensitive to light and sound. Suffering from short- and long-term memory loss, she struggled with her sense of time. Encouraged by a physician who believed music would help heal her brain, Gardot learned to hum, then to sing into a tape recorder, and eventually to write songs. For several years, she traveled with a physiotherapist and carried a transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulator to reduce pain. Given her oversensitivity to sound, she chose quieter music. On the treadmill, she listened to bossa nova by Stan Getz, specifically "The Girl from Ipanema". Unable to sit comfortably at the piano, she learned to play guitar on her back. During her recovery, she wrote songs that became part of the self-produced EP Some Lessons: The Bedroom Sessions. Gardot was reluctant to record her songs at first, stating that they were too private for the public to hear, but relented and allowed her songs to be played on a Philadelphia radio station.
I am really grateful for the music, so sophisticated, also for the nice sound of the flute and other musical instruments with harmony, not with magic, yet fantasy in this realm!
This Lady plays the piano exellent, she plays the electric guitar, she treats her voice like an instrument. What else can she do? We dont know. Im lucky to recently have discovered this, sorry there aren´t so much listerner. YET.
The music should be allowed for amazing ambassadors of alluring music, among ambitious tastelessness of many modern, popular musicians! It is the matter-of-course!!!
This is her CD, but as I see it, a better version, with more improvisation, more free spirit, more open air. I like this consert a lot. And I also like the cello-player, he is a true musician!
Even if she speaks, it sounds that beautyfull. That´s not my musik, but i´ve never seen something work that good. she knows about her biggest tallent, and let´s us all enjoy her: I don´t know how other musicans ,there under me, are able to find a fuck, to criticize this wonderfull hour. ...thank u Miss Melody Gardot and the other uniques around you. If you see a man loosing tears while he moves like the devil to your danceable once, ....it´s Me. ..ride on..
She is acting the DIVA, but as long as she is so talented, so warm, so nice to the public, so filled with inspiration it is OK with me. She can wave her things and stay behind her glasses and have this perfect lipstick and her impossible hat, or what it is, so long as she sings and expresses her the way she do. She is a true musician, and we for sure want her to return to the scene.
Many men in these comments have said that they love her, me too. That proves that we dont want a little shy women that says yes and no to all stupidities we utter. No we want a strong woman, an inventor, a partner that can match us. Also in our stupidities. Like Melody. And so my listening for tonight ends with this blessing to her.
This Lady has created a class for her music. I'm so glad she invited all of us to join her. Ms Gardot please keep up the great work.
Love your comment, yes she has. This Lady can do anything she likes, and I hope she will do it.

This woman simply thrills me. I am a poet, so I get it.
What an epic show! That sax player ⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️💚💚💚💚⚡️⚡️⚡️⚡️
Irwin Hall is a beast on sax!

This Lady plays the piano like a Goddess. Wait and see.
I want to close my eyes and listen, but I can't look away.
Ms. Gardo amazes me with her extraordinary talent and musicianship, as well as her commanding but subtle stage presence. A class act!
This is SOOO much fun! Love how she changes things up with her various live versions. It must be such a joy to perform with her!
Quelle douceur, quel voyage!

Who cannot be yet in agreement with this opinion, sense and sensitivity, in the global village?!

Excepcional cantora! E belíssima!!!!
24:40 is my favorite song in the concert.
Melody Gardot's voice is as sweet as Tupelo honey.
Sencillamente extraordinaria.
OMG, superb !!!!! Ela tem samba no pé !!!!!

Juste magnifique
"I hope you join me in my toast..." Yes, we will.

Melody is amazing ❤💕💟
A perfect performance.
Love her
Her band is SAVAGE....omg.
Un délice je recommande
Wow! What a talent!
The sunglasses tho🤣
She wears them for medical reasons from what I've read. She's extremely photogenic light sensitive due to an accident she had when a teenager.
Swell. I haven´t heard this before. Like it a lot.
A great concert by great band!
👍 Excellent 😍 💓💓💞🤗🍀💕
I love you!!!
Super bravo !!!!

And a skilled pianist. I am impressed by the way she plays the piano in "Goodbye"!
Seldom has a positive judgement like this been placed on the bottom. Perhaps has it to do with the algorithmes, think of the word diva.
She has no choice but to stay behind her glasses. Have you not heard about the accident where she almost lost her sight?
She’s a modern day Frida Kahlo
24:40 Lisboa My favorite 🙂
Caro dis-moi que je vis un cauchemar
Where was this concert held

Bow to he woman Bow to the man Bow to each other & it all works out
But what do you have to offer such an extraordinary woman like Melody Gardot?
Man! Now that's a woman!
Is she even from this planet? Melody and her team, I mean...?
She's proof that aliens walk among us. They hide themselves in the arts. They've been doing this for eons.
Am i born again or what
She was 27 in this. jus' sayin'
