Hey guys. Just wanted to tell Joshua that it’s not weird to eat KFC during Christmas. Jamaicans do that every year as well. KFC kinda has a chokehold on the country 😂 loved this video though and the ad was genius as always
KFC does this a lot out of the States. Since they are not very popular in most countries, they try and brand themselves as a special occasion food.

KFC was introduced to Japan around Christmas time, and a lot of American brands were popping up around Japan at the time but then KFC advertised a Christmas drumstick bucket and everyone started buying it, so now it's a tradition in Japan to eat fried chicken or more specifically, KFC.
There's probably some more historical details that I missed but you get the idea
I read an article about that. It’s common for a lot of households to order their Christmas chicken buckets in advance because it’s so popular they sell out. Other companies are starting to compete but “Kentucky” as it’s called are the main sellers.

If yall have never made a Thanksgiving burger then you must. Turkey with a mixture(or smashing together of however you want to do it)of Stuffing,Mashed Potatoes,Green beans casserole(with Bacon for ultimate flavor) and a bit of gravy. Also on each bun or whatever kinda of bread you use put Jalapenos mixed in with cranberry Jam.
It is hard to choose between Festive Domino's Pizza and Festive KFC here! So maybe, both is the best option here!

fun fact: one of the prevailing theories as to why KFC is a Christmas thing in Japan is because foreigners couldn't get Turkeys or whole chickens in Japan. So they started buying KFC to celebrate the holidays. This eventually led to KFC expanding their Christmas marketing kinda like Coke created the modern Santa in the West.

The only "festive" thing we really do is I make one batch of my special Christmas cookies. That's it. One batch per year of these cookies, that I have never seen in any recipe book or even know where the recipe came from. And they really aren't that special, just chocolate ball cookie covered in peppermint icing. Weird.

I feel you. Christmas has always been extremely hard and depressing for me, coming from an extremely toxic "family." The older I get, the less I feel like even attempting anything "special" for it. After all, I have no one to share it with. I do, however, dress as an elf every year, but that's about it. 😂

I always find it interesting that brussels sprouts are considered a traditional Christmas dish in the UK. Because in the US you’d be lucky to find any kind of green vegetable in a holiday meal. Just lots of starchy stuff. The only exception being maybe green bean casserole, which is swimming in sauce.
I live in the UK now but came back to Italy, my home country, for Christmas and I’m really glad I did😂

Interesting thing about eating KFC on Christmas in Japan. Since most Japanese are either Shinto or Buddhist, Christmas isn’t celebrated other than a day for shopping and gifts. So to increase sales, KFC’s marketing department offered specials. It was a hit and now a tradition… now, you have to reserve your Christmas bucket of chicken 3 weeks in advance!

Oddly enough the Greggs Vegetarian sausage roll tastes EXACTLY the same as their normal sausage roll. This is because flavourless vegetable mush baked in pastry tastes the same as flavourless meat mush baked in pastry!
