I'm not familiar with the current name of this robot, but it sure looks a heck of a lot like an anime robot I used to know back in the very early eighties, it was called Koldorak. Brings back childhood memories though.

It's the same robot, in my country it's called Goldrake, it has a different spelling depending on the local adaptation
