I came here to say exactly that! As an inexperienced solo street skater (I do a lot of London organised street skates, which are awesome, but those are hundreds of us, with Marshalls to lead the way, and guard us from traffic). I would love a video with mostly rear POV, preferably camera held high over you, and ideally either a live or post-dubbed commentary: how do you decide which routes, when to switch from pavement to road, which obstacles to avoid, jump or plough through Which junctions to take at speed, which ones to slow and stop? Was this a familiar route to you, so you knew every element and hazard, or was it virgin, and your decisions are wholly reactive? Keep up the great vids!
I've been curious as to where in Philly to skate. Honestly it's been a while since I've done a round or two through the city. This has given me the inspiration to pick up skating once again and explore. Love the video.
I dig multiple camera angles because it allows for better examination of skating techniques. These 360 action cams and slick software present completely new opportunities for creators.
Glad you like it! My problem is that I’m much more of a skater than a creator, lol. The 360 cams and how cool they are is a one of the reasons I’m here, honestly. This camera and my iPhone are all I’ve got. I need a good lav mic to do more audio recording for tutorials and stuff.
Hey thanks! Likewise, I’m subbed to you, keep shredding! The soul slide is awesome. I’m a bit of a soul slide evangelist… trying to spread the good word, lol.
@@rerollinginline You are doing a great job at it. I got a lot of value out of your soul slide tutorial, thanks for taking the time to break it down like that.

Please, make it standard. I didn't know it befor but I need more fakie skating with the camera in the back, this was sweet!
Thanks! The from-behind perspective is just not as easy or simple. Holding a stick in front is much easier and gives better control than sticking it out behind you. It’s tough when you can’t tell exactly how far behind it is, or at which angle it is. I’ll still try to get more of this perspective though and work on it. Thanks for watching!

I’ve personally never used harder than 86A, but I’ve got some 90A wheels delivering tomorrow because I’ve been wanting to try harder wheels to see what they’re like. Some folks recommend not using bigger wheels as a beginner, but I wouldn’t really know since I was a beginner as a kid and can’t really reference it.
Not sure completely. Overall maybe 10? I’m not sure when I started (8 or 10 years old maybe?) but stopped at age 16. Picked it back up when I was 38. Thanks for watching and happy skating :) practice makes it a little easier every time.
These are "Triple 8 Kneesaver" but they're pretty low quality, if I'm being honest. I've had them slide down during falls and still got road rash. I wear them because they're slim. They have also protected me though. Just a risk I take. As you mention, it's hard to find protective knee pads that are also comfortable. Always a tradeoff between comfort/weight and protection.
I’ve actually wondered what Pittsburgh would be like. I went to Pitt freshman year of college. I remember the campus in Oakland had some pretty steep hills.
i would like to know what skates you use on your videos for commuting ? i want fast skates that are bellow 200 dollars in which i can go to classes and do commuting in the cities. i have the powerslide zoom 80 but they are not fast i have to do a lot of effort to roll them, i am looking for something fast and durable. i was looking at flying eagle 4 raven or the f5s eclipse but i'm not sure if they are fast ? or should i use a 3 wheel skates instead ? please i need your advice
The skates in this video are FR1 Deluxe Intuition. Gear is listed in the description of the video. I don't have experience with the zoom 80 or either of the flying eagle models you mentioned, but they will all probably feel similar. They're all plastic hard shell urban skates with 4x80mm wheel setups. Are your powerslides the zooms or the zoom pro? I'm asking because the zoom pro will allow you to just buy a new frame for the same boot if you wanted to experiment with other setups, like 3 wheel skates for example. You'll need a trinity mount frame, like these: powerslide.com/collections/powerslide-urban-frames But if you have just the regular zooms, and the frame is riveted to the boot, you won't be able to only change the frame and wheels
@@rerollinginline Thank you for your reply, i have the regular zoom 80 they are comfy and all, i was just looking for more speed and less effort. I just got a preowned fr1 80 in white at 160$ with taxes. Is that a good deal ? i hope they ll be faster than the zoom 80

Thanks! Yes, plenty of folks skate wheels that hard and big.
How long have you been rolling? amazing skills! hope I can reach them soon!
Not sure completely. Overall maybe 10? I’m not sure when I started (8 or 10 years old maybe?) but stopped at age 16. Picked it back up when I was 38.
Thanks for watching and happy skating :) practice makes it a little easier every time.
How can you do de videos someone do the camera works ?
Can’t find knee pads that are comfortable… what kind are you using in the video?
These are "Triple 8 Kneesaver" but they're pretty low quality, if I'm being honest. I've had them slide down during falls and still got road rash. I wear them because they're slim. They have also protected me though. Just a risk I take. As you mention, it's hard to find protective knee pads that are also comfortable. Always a tradeoff between comfort/weight and protection.
the camera´s work?
Philly is fun. Pittsburg, I want to see someone knock that out.
I’ve actually wondered what Pittsburgh would be like. I went to Pitt freshman year of college. I remember the campus in Oakland had some pretty steep hills.
Hey, are you using the insta 360 x2? Or gopro max?
Insta360 ONE R (gear in video description). I think it's comparable to the X2.
i would like to know what skates you use on your videos for commuting ? i want fast skates that are bellow 200 dollars in which i can go to classes and do commuting in the cities.
i have the powerslide zoom 80 but they are not fast i have to do a lot of effort to roll them, i am looking for something fast and durable. i was looking at flying eagle 4 raven or the f5s eclipse but i'm not sure if they are fast ? or should i use a 3 wheel skates instead ? please i need your advice
You'll need a trinity mount frame, like these: powerslide.com/collections/powerslide-urban-frames
But if you have just the regular zooms, and the frame is riveted to the boot, you won't be able to only change the frame and wheels
What is the name of the Song at 3:18? Would be nice if someone knows it =)
It’s “DLZ” by TV On The Radio. Usually UA-cam adds it to the description automatically, I’m not sure why it didn’t this time. The first song is “Happy Idiot” by the same band.
@@rerollinginline ah thanks alot! I knew the song, but couldnt recognize the name 😀
damn i hope one day i can skate as smoothly as you
Lots of practice!
Nice video! Quick question, how long does your wheels normally last?
I’m not entirely sure, but a rough estimate is about 50-60 hours. It all depends of course on how much sliding I do, the surfaces I’m on etc.
@@rerollinginline ic ty
It would be cool to hear the sounds you hear.
