I dropped my car off at repair the other day and got a lift back, but since it was only about 2-3 klms away I walked back to pick it up, I was buggered after that. I doubt I could have walked another 1-2 klms without collapsing, I am so out of shape.
Mario Rigby contacted me and asked if I would tell his story, which I had never heard of him or his journey of crossing Africa before. But once I started researching information for the video, I quickly realised that this was heavily covered in 2015-2018 by everyone. I must live under a rock as I never heard of him before he contacted me.
@Siward Beorn I often watch a lot of police / security camera videos, and a lot of videos come out of Africa and places like that of whole groups of men doing a home invasion. They follow your car home and wait to you open a HUGE ASS security gate and when you pull in they drive in behind you and attack you and take everything. Forget the health part of it (I am overweight and too old to do this now) I would still not want to do it, out of fear of being attacked / killed.
@Siward Beorn I am in the middle of improving, or to be more accurate at the start of improving. Now that all the cold weather is done for the year and we moving into Spring and soon summer, we will finally have some nice weather to get out and excercise in. I have already started dieting and excercising. I am currentlky 122kg and 50y/o so it is a challenge, but one I must do.
Dear Wonder World, I would like to thank you for publishing this worth while content and all of the other videos you do. I have just found your channel and see its inspirational value to the world. It makes me happy that children of the world, and my son, will get to live with educational content to inspire their brains to be great leaders of the future.
I am cleaning out a box of old fitness magazines and I came across one with Mario on the cover. So I decided to see what this guy was up to a year later and I find this video, cool.
wait, there is a real Forest Gump, did exactly what the movie Forest Gump did, just ran across america, I tried to contact him to tell his story, he never replied.

Really cool. Here’s a guy. Who’s trying something new. Because he’s a West Indian I’m sure he wasn’t sure how it would go. But he’s integrity he’s honest belife. In him self. Really superb. . We all should have our own. Goals. Do not fear ( ok fear ) but do not let this dent you in your personal belife. God bless.
Nice follow him regular... always nice to do this kind of adventures.... nothing can beat being on the road. Was arrested in Ukraine while kayaking. And many other encounters while doing walking projects
Big respect 🫡 to this man who do these crazy challenges. Sometimes I want to walk all the way from Alaska to all the way to Argentina 🇦🇷. I just want to do it, I don’t care if the police 👮 is going to stop me or my family or friends and I don’t even want people to stop me and give me lift in a vehicle 🚗. I just want to walk all the way from Argentina 🇦🇷 to Alaska, it’s my ambition to do it, and I know god is going to help me do this.
WOW, this is simply amazing. Funny how a guy farting in a mall in America garners millions of views, yet this awe inspiring journey has fewer than 100k views!!! Humanity is messed up.
Ok I'm sorry but my ignorant ass thought from the thumbnail you might be from somewhere over there, the fact you're not has made this like 20 times more insane! What an amazing guy
hey don't feel that way, I thought that myself when he contacted me, I thought ok an African walked across Africa, so what? Then I found out he from Canada, and I thought ok now that's interesting.
@@WhyForWhatNow if he actually walked 50 klms every day he would have arrived in 240 days not 2.5 years, so he took his time, but when he did walk he walked about 50klms a day.

I though Sudan would give him grief instead of Malawi, because of things like Al Shabaab. Very surprised you got treated like that in Malawi, I lived there for almost a year.

wow he srsly used his smartphone for this? i offroad travel too in my hollidays all over the world. but i soon figured out that a smartphone is way to fragile. i carry one with me but for maps i use a gps device from military. they work under water, dont drop dead at 40+degree, dont shut down with 15% batterie left, are useable with gloves, work waay better between mountains(you can change between gps and glonass and other alternativs)
It's sad that because of visa, most Africans can't walk across Africa but a Canadian can. But kudos to him for doing this
Ok. But. He’s the pioneer. Maybe. Many more will follow. But I hear you.
