Thank you Dr. Andrew Vardanian for this detailed video on Liposuction. My body is more muscular than fat. In the last few years I have gained a lot of fat on my upper ab and I am considering a Liposuction around my upper ab and back. I am not using the surgery as a weight loss method because I am a regular member at the gym and working out has become part of my life for the last 15 years. My problem is I am just afraid to have the general anesthesia because I am so afraid of being put to sleep. I was told that I am very good at tolerating pain and was wondering if I can be awake since I only want to lose the extra 3 to 4 pounds of fat ( 2 liters ) around my upper ab. I am not asking for a flat waistline.
I had it at 66 years old and did very well. Ate Mediterranean diet and and continue to do so. I drink lots of lemon water, wear abdominal board, and compression garment. Recovery is coming along and once swelling goes down I think results will be worth the effort. There were medical reasons mine was done, too complicated to get into here.
I have been unable to lose body fat since 2015 , I keep gaining body fat. I gain weight despite exercise and calorie counting. I don't even eat enough to maintain my current weight but experience severe weight gain that increases with the greater the deficit. Starving diet seems to be the only cause left i used to run now i just walk. Its unlikely to be a surplus as there isn't enough food in my house to add to exactly 4 pounds. I have now doubled my body fat. My thighs carry all my weight. I hate what has happened. I have given up on my fat loss journey.
Sorry to hear about your struggles. I can imagine it’s very frustrating and upsetting. 🤕 Maybe working with a trainer who can help you with both your meal planning and exercise might be a good investment for your health and happiness.
Have you seen an endocrinologist to see if you have a hormone problem? You need to have your thyroid, adrenal gland, and blood work done. Your problem could be medical.
Love these regular videos from these talented doctors
Way to go Doc! You took us all to the top to get a better view down in the valley.

I would love to have a free consultation. Thank you
You look so handsome! Thank you for the info.
Would this be okay for a 64 year old woman. She takes no medication.

Has anyone died from liposuction?
Rhetorical answer for pricing. Could have given at least a few examples
