Parle was started by Mohan Lal Dayal who had “Swadeshi” influence and wanted to produce biscuits in India. His main goal was to provide biscuits to poor people also as biscuits made then were extremely costly and were imported. This was the time were Mohan Dayal went to Germany and learned the process of biscuit manufacturing. After learning this, Mohan Lal bought a factory and he and his family started working on it. After years of hard work they finally created the first pack of Parle-G. The name “Parle” comes from the place their factory was located “Vile Parle, Mumbai”
Let me add this ...after a long process of makiing biscuits ..the family was so engaged in all the work that they forgot to keep the name of the biscuits..😂 Than they got an idea why not we use the name of the place where It all started...in the beginning that area use to call ville parla ...they used the name and made it Parle..and that's how we got our very own Parle glucose.....the first name of Parle G.....you can find these details in vivek bindra's motivational videos.of great entrepreneurs.....jai hind, jai bharat 🇮🇳

Availablity of Parle-G in entire African countries is a great news to all of us. They dominate the Indian market. Parle, Britannia,ITC are the three major biscuit brands in India. About six more large Indian biscuit brands are there in India.

But the founder of Parle G company went to Germany, learnt the secret of making biscuits, and then started making them in India. For example, long before the instant noodle, "Wai Wai," was officially made available in India, or even Lotte's "Choco Pie," was officially launched in India, both products were available (meaning to say that they were imported) in the early 90's in some places in India such as certain North-Eastern states .

During lock down shops were closed and food marts were overcrowded with extremely long lines. I would stock up huge packets of Parle G as other things (flattened rice or semolina etc) were hard to find. It's the ultimate comfort food condiment with tea.

I never knew that parle g was that famous outside India specially in African continent❤ I remember go to parle g factory in my school trip of class 3rd we watched a short cartoon type movie how it formed then we visited inside factory And damm the smell was soooo good We got fresh baked biscuits and smell was too fresh and they make it very cleanly.. Elder people here mostly call every biscuit parle g 😂 they are something My parents never stop saying it's unhealthy And it' s my fav. This biscuit is still going strong among all new flavours that come every year. Though it hit the market first in 1938, not sure if taste was same. But for past 5-6 decades, taste has been consistent. 80s, 90s kid loved it. Even today kids born after 2020 love it.
Thanks for pronouncing Parle properly! Paar-lay..named after Mumbai's Parle (also pronounced as Paarlaa) railway station outside which the factory was located. Every time u passed Parle station, u could literally smell the biscuit fragrance. The factory relocated (cost-cutting) but the company name remains Parle and they make 100s of products including the iconic Parle G (G=Glucose) biscuits - best had with Indian chai! Also, the little girl's pic on the pack has remained unchanged for decades!
Recently indigo MD and billionaire Rahul bhatia seen eating parle-g on a flight travelling economy class.. a billionaire in a economy class eating 5/- parle-g.. only in india.. one of the top three richest person Ashok biyani (the owner of Dmart) wears plain dhoti kurta.. it shows no matter now much we progess financially we will always have that down to earth mentality (middle class mindset as we say).. thanks bertin for another awesome video...

This biscuit is still going strong among all new flavours that come every year. Though it hit the market first in 1938, not sure if taste was same. But for past 5-6 decades, taste has been consistent. 80s, 90s kid loved it. Even today kids born after 2020 love it.

Thanks for pronouncing Parle properly! Paar-lay..named after Mumbai's Parle (also pronounced as Paarlaa) railway station outside which the factory was located. Every time u passed Parle station, u could literally smell the biscuit fragrance. The factory relocated (cost-cutting) but the company name remains Parle and they make 100s of products including the iconic Parle G (G=Glucose) biscuits - best had with Indian chai!
Also, the little girl's pic on the pack has remained unchanged for decades!
Recently indigo MD and billionaire Rahul bhatia seen eating parle-g on a flight travelling economy class.. a billionaire in a economy class eating 5/- parle-g.. only in india.. one of the top three richest person Ashok biyani (the owner of Dmart) wears plain dhoti kurta.. it shows no matter now much we progess financially we will always have that down to earth mentality (middle class mindset as we say).. thanks bertin for another awesome video...
