The Karate/Martial Arts guy was Ron Slinker. Slinker was Bad Ass and it tells you how Bad Ass Black Jack was. Bischoff did so many wonderful angles, very intelligent, and his appearance was perfect for management. His 2 mistakes were his unfamiliarity with the WCW demographics and expanding the nWo. Eric pushed the WWE boys and neglected the old NWA boys. WCW fans rejected the WWE workers as Baby Faces and as overs. I remember Terry Taylor asking me who is the guy with the perfect hair. At that time Eric was a 3rd string announcer. One evening after a dark show, Ole was fired and Eric became the Booker. So glad to see Ric and Eric are friends!

From what I can gather through research is basically, the "Time Warner" contract wasn't a thing sort of. After WCW was sold, Time Warner made UWH(Universal Wrestling Holdings), a subsidiary company were Time Warner stuffed all the wrestling into, It's cash, assets, debt, liabilities, contracts, venue agreements, etc. That's the company Nash sued to get his merchandise money he was owed from WCW from (and probably where he bought the licensing rights to NWO from). Because WCW never went bankrupt, officially. Time Warner simply decided to sell off the stuff they could get some quick cash for. Hence why when Bischoff tried to buy it, he was also only offered the rings, library, etc. No TV time, talent, or anything of potential value. McMahon bought it though, because he had a contract with WCW many years prior that stated he would get 1st opportunity to buy WCW should it ever go up for sale
The package WWE bought from Time Warner of WCW was literally nothing but a video library, some licensing rights, and probably any physical assets (rings, equipment, lights, etc). The talent's contracts were never involved in the deal. So basically, the reason WWE didn't buy out the big names of WCW's contracts were, because they weren't going to pay for it. They could wait a year, or 2 for when the talent's contract was up and they needed a job

After all Ric did for the company I wish he would have said no more often. Eric has been lucky his whole life. That pretty boy can get you only so far. Eric thought he was going to put Vince out of business. Funny how he always has selective memory.
Even to this day it’s hard for me to like him.

I can’t stand this guy. To me he buried WCW. Once a jerk always a jerk. Good on Ric for letting things go but I don’t see how they’re friends.

As easy as it would be to blame a person, the real truth is that the merger of Turner, and Time Warner /AOL is what killed WCW

Eric played a huge part in WCW becoming a major player. Yes Turner funded it but Eric came up with some very innovative ideas for Nitro that helped them kick WWF's ass for 83 weeks.

    • @GarseJanacek

Lmao! He made WCW, it was done before he took over they were shutting it down he was their last roll of the dice. He brought it and wrestling in general to it's best ever time money and ratings wise. Changed the entire business. The merger with AOL and Turner was what killed WCW they pushed WCW into a PG show when violence an sex were the biggest thing in wrestling. Corporate ruined WCW more than anything.

To be the man you have to make out with your rival backstage like Hogan did with savage back in late 80s. You don't need a lot of " tongue down the throat " action, but you could at least 🤔 about it. That's right. Drunk and curious 🧐 they were. That's a classic
