Andy, for $3 bucks more you could have gotten the "DE-LUX KIT" , which comes with a harmonica! 🤠
Don’t forget the authentic wire coat hanger to hold the harmonica.
This was hilarious, pure comedy.
Cracked at "only the king can eat you" 🤣.
Get better soon.
Publicly Schooled English Folk, singing about the 'Toil' is the real one.
“White people didn’t experience pain growing up” is becoming the most cliche thing on the internet
Lyric suggestions:
British folk music:
As I went out one morning, in the merry month of May, a maiden I did spy (pronounced “spoi”).
Americana:
Stuff about levees, creeks, bayous etc.
This was one of the funniest vids I've had the pleasure of watching! Great stuff!
Brilliant Andy ....loved it .feel better
Andy, you've brought me to tears. I'm on the floor and my stomach hurts. Hysterical! Get well soon.
Priceless!! 😁
Brilliant, heartfelt, hilarious.
This will definitely be included in the group of very informative videos on this channel along with best biscuits and prog mustache ranking.
Too funny 😂 and authentic 🤘🏽
"Well where did that come from, then???" LMAO!
This was entertaining.
Loved the lyrics.
This is what UA-cam is all about, or rather, what's it's meant to be about. At least to me. Home videos of people having fun.
Oh, my. Andy, I hope that you recover quickly from the Covid. Loved the video!
Thank you Andy for such practical advice!
Glad it was helpful!
Eat your heart out, Jethro Tull! Brilliant, Andy!
Brilliant video Andy. Hope you get well soon mate.
A Masterclass!
Best yet!
In Avantguard Americana Progfolk that we play in our village here in East Belgium traditionally we also add steeldrums in a microtanal tuning.
Hope you're feeling better Andy. Even when you're under the weather, you still remain over the top and ahead of the curve.
Thank you
Eat that Bill Bailey! Animals of England rules...thanks for the laff Andy I needed cheering up this morning! Re the 4k test the pic quality looks great....and hope you get better soon!
My Canadian version was the same except it advises me to sing a verse in French. Leonard Cohen is laughing somewhere..
Hilarious! This is what I love to do as well sometimes - just fooling around with weird lyrics and cool melodies on these chords that you can just do anything with. Sometimes something useful comes out of it like your hunting swan song :D
Get well soon!
Get well soon man love your videos my grand father was British
Had a coffee down the nostrils moment when you went into the badger verse! I think I was overcome with the musics sheer authenticity!
You were...
Get well soon, better get you some grits. Very funny video. Thanks Andy.
pretty good man😁
Too much fun! Haha! Your brit accent really makes it sound authentically Amerciana.
- "Doing stuff with cows"
- "Dressed in red they want the foxy dead"
Brilliant! hahahaha! Thx for the entertainment!
"Doing stuff with cows" is a beautiful lyric.
That was funny 😂
😅 Love it.. your best yet Andrew.. you should go solo as The Yodelling Pirate 😂
If this is indicative I can't wait for your next album.
Have you ever listened to Allison Kraus & Unioon Station? Some of the later records. See if you can play one single tune on any of those records. Good luck, with or without the hat.
I can't wait
Believe me...you can.....
4K HDR...looks good 👍
Andy looks like you're having a great time doing this video. 😁👍🏾💯🎶
I am...no research needed, no editing...just pure stupidness
Add a bottle of malt and throw the thing into DADGAD for authentic Scottish folk music. Therein you’ll find the basis of the blues. 😂
Andy, you're so funny !!! "trop drôle" in french....
We need a non-covid version, but that's great that you felt possessed! 😂
Best wishes for fast recovery.
Get a lot of sun really helps
Feel better soon Andy
If you’re feeling bad and can’t sleep I have a tune for you.
It’s called 12:30 On M Street.
Very relaxing and peaceful for the mind.
It’s also a nice slice of the music scene in Washington D.C. in the 1970’s….
Might surprise you.
More like Englishana!! "Doing stuff with cows" 😂😂😂
Love it Andy, you’re a true comedic talent. You sound a little like the FaceJacker character Dufraise Constantinople when you get exasperated 😂 The swan neck that only the King can break 😂
The greatest line that I have ever heard it's probably the one you just said the cheeky Fox brilliant absolutely brilliant I think I am in f****** love
love you too...spread the love...
Funny one!
Nice chords!
If Andy has got the lurgi, I wonder if this could be his swansong? [pun intended] More comedic rants please Andy!
This is so the local music scene open mic night.
Cowboy chords ago go.
The finest practioners of 'Americana' has to be Gary Louris and his compadres The Jay Hawks. Ostensibly becauase Gary has professed the British Invasion was a significant influence on his musical landscape.
Wow! Tour de Force!!
I want the album...! 😂👏🤣
What a song 😂
Is that the Roger Waters relux kit? Granchester if seashell and stone all rolled into one. Just need a few covid coughs and other body noises, and you could go global. 😂
COVID at this point? How retro.
Great conceit and execution as usual, Andy.
I've checked the website and other kits from this company are:
Learn Jacques Brel Classics Like "Je vous deteste" (beret included);
Yes, Gates Of Delerium, polka-style;
John Cage's 4'33" For Dummies.
Thanks, and get well soon.
I was digging early David St. Hubbins vibe with the Save the Swan Song 🦢 ✌
Comedy gold.
Speaking of Americana, James Taylor wants his hat back.
I believe my respect for you has multiply to the power of 3 I've been looking for someone to fill in the shoes of Arlo Guthrie has an American I am truly truly impressed I think you have found your true calling in music pentangle anymore my God you are superb I wasn't really sold on all the Americana and British Folk but you have reached out and touched my soul I apologize I'm there with you now
I may do some more of these brilliant songs
....the effects of COVID!!
Good recovery, Andy!
Really funny! The low voice sounds like Mark Knopfler.
I haven't laughed so much since the time you threw a Last Exit CD across the room.
THANK YOU. 💌 I swear if I hear one more gd song about a train I might throw myself under one. Or whiskey or ramblin' or outlaws. WELL DONE. (and get well soon).
Thanks for listening
Where else on UA-cam can you find an authentic royal subject strumming and singing tirelessly despite his afflictions in an honest and heartfelt attempt to master this ancient form of music? I just wish you could add a kilt and bagpipes and film in a castle. That would be awesome!
Hysterical! I hope it doesn't spoil the Bellowhead concert for me later this year.
I hope it does....have they started going to their gigs by car like evryone else yet?
@@AndyEdwardsDrummer Don't think so, they mainly use a steam powered, hurdy gurdy.
Andy's Guide to Polka. Germanicana I guess. As long as there's beer involved I'm okay with it.
Roooolllllllllllll oooooout the baaaaarrrrrrrrrreeeeellllllllllssss 😂😂😂😂😂
Hilarious!!
Perhaps a ballad to the unfeasibly small waistcoat?
Guaranteed 100% Americana
Haha, what a crackup... 👏👏👏 play Rocky Racoon 😎
I want more yodeling dangBurnIt!
Ride them there cows Andy!
Couple minutes in still waiting for Witchita Lineman, Hard Rains Gonna Fall. If you could read my mind (that's a song also) Dire Wolf maybe. But I like your videos Andy all of em including this one.
Funniest video ever! 😂
You should be on the stage. The next one leaves town in 10 minutes.
What do you call or think of all the bands like The National or Arcade Fire who have lots of people on stage but with seemingly very little music happening. Is that some sort of americana?
You're ready to collaborate with Allison Krauss! Feel better soon
When does the tour start?
If I were putting the Americana kit together, I would have included a plaid shirt and suspenders instead of the waistcoat. Also a paste-on big, bushy fake beard.
Kenneth Williams did a folk singer character, on radio, I believe.
I loved that character...he knew how to roll his vowels. I wish I could talk about these people here on my channel...
Kenneth Horne, unquestionably one of the most understated comic talents and one of the finest 'radio voices' ever to grace the airwaves.
Well English chaps have got the market cornered on witty humor. That was so funny. It was a pretty good Bruce Springsteen impression though. Try some Junior Brown songs.
He’s looking mighty Dust Bowl
The Great Depression lives on in the two chord boredom of trust fund college drop outs everywhere
Feel better, ANDY ….
You covered from Bob Dylan to Mark Knopfler! Well done! Hope you get well soon……👍
Andy, I’m afraid they may have sent you a defective kit…. The 3 chords you need are C, D, G. Not F. And yes, a capo would be required if you want to play an F. I actually know a bluegrass musician who showed me how to play in drop D tuning… with TWO capos!! Imagine the ingenuity of this! Yours truly, an American Amateur Guitarist. ❤
On the 22nd? "I will wait"
That covid medication is obviously strong!!!! 😂 I wonder if they do a jazz fusak kit??😅
Sure. Bob Guccione junk jewelry, see-through socks, and a pint of Hennessy to share with your main squeeze while you try to convince her that your other main squeezes don’t exist.
Open your own micro brewery?
It's like a B n' M Bargains Ry Cooder
Andy - i couldn't have done this better…this kind of 'critic' runs deep with me, in that its (or ANYTHING) is so easy to parody. i often get lampooned for my disrespect. But its only just a joke, as you & i know. Just listen to 'Solitude' - Black Sabbath (On Master Of Reality). A two chord (English folky) tune i guess, not unlike your original (Americana) rendition. Go figure ! LOL.
Paul.
PS; as i most often don't listen to lyrics, or the meaning of same, i was always mystified of this (Black Sabbath) track, in amongst so much strong music on the album….for me, it seemed like a 'filler' - but what would i know ! LOL. LOVE your work !
Question is to anyone, what genre do you suggest for someone brought up in western culture who wants to play largely acoustic and simple music?
Mumford & Sons
@@StratsRUs hmm. Even though you’re the one who said public schooled folk artists talking about toil is “the real one”, you’re gonna suggest Mumford and Sons, after Andy put that waistcoat on. The question was rhetorical friend there is no answer other than the bands everyone decided today to add to the list of things that aren’t as good as what they grew up with
I think you need to purchase a map that will enable you to locate your sense of humour.
@@jimmycampbell78 it gets lost
Keep tapping that spine, Andy, there's gold in them thar hills there is! Aaarh and begorrah I think I gonna sing a song bout a beaver in the mountains of the Great Achiever now. Inspired be I by swich mickle tydinges of bamboozle. Maybe the Legend of the Arindorondacktack Beaver Bear That Ate A Gallon of Mooses by the side of the flower mead. Alas and alack. Murie betide thee. Hale and good health upon the morrow good Sire.
you give americana too much credit by playing an F...they would need a capo for that advanced musicianship.
deliberately...if an americana musician is watching this getting annoyed, thev Dsus2/F will properly point out their uselessness and how they should leave this to the professionals like me...
Yea the music you like is so much better then that, how do they even not see it they’re total idiots compared to us
@@arzabaelnobody plays that chord. Not because we can’t but Because we don’t want to.
@@Hartlor_Tayley was referring to the big picture I don’t know what that note is because I am a fan of music more than a skilled music reading academic so I can actually tell you what sounds good to people rather than what sounds good to other artists
@@arzabael what sounds good to people, yeah that right. Sometimes it not about the chords. Songs are funny things,
Link for the kit??
Pencil in the 8th August in your diary for Cropredy!
I have played it twice, headlined it in 2000
Who’s that guy in the corner loading bullets into his six shooter ?
YOUR FUNNY
Aaaannnnddd your thoughts on that Allison Krause Robert Plant project??? 😮
Robert caught up with his aging audience and gave them something to tap their toes to whilst clipping their roses
HEY!! I resemble that remark. Excuse me while I go water my roses…
