It's rare that someone showcases a product like this, and successfully delivers the reasons of how musicians and aspiring composers/scorers could BENEFIT in such detail. This REALLY is a great product sell. Very well done Homay - it would be nice to see you covering so much more like this!
I have Albion One for a year now and, of course, I still don’t know all the instruments, but among my favorites are: Legato strings mid (really gives this emotional sound) Woodwinds high (long and short) Strings staccato and spiccato Brass high long Strings octaves long (and short) The legacy cymbals and gongs XXL percussion stereo mix And the strings long (especially in the higher octaves) And much more... :)
I just got Albion One and this was a very helpful walk through of how to use different pieces of it together. One thing this video makes clear though is that there is obviously a lot of work to putting together a great track such as this one -- lots and lots of details. I imagine one could get the basic idea down, perhaps in a day, but then it could take weeks to get all the details perfected. Homay is clearly very skilled at this.
Awesome as always Homay, you always explain things with such clarity, you also make everything sound wonderful. Thank you so much, you're such an inspiration. Take care look forward to the next one, stay safe best wishes Terry
Wow. Between Sadie’s Waltz for BBCSO and now this, Homay’s compositions are quickly becoming some of the best around for VI examples. Keep it up please... more Homay!!
A great piece to demonstrate Albion One. I particularly like your overview of the work and how you soloed various instruments/sounds and explained why they were used in the piece . It would be good if your work was more frequently shown on UA-cam. Thanks Homay for this video.
Really love your style! This was 1 of the 4 tracks that got me to get albion one. 3 were yours and Alex Pfeffer. You have new fan ;) Thank you for the great music
I'm sure there are workarounds in my preferred Spitfire string libraries, but the full string section spread in this is probably going to become my preferred mockup for string parts going forth. SUPER useful as someone who wrote with XPand2 for many years.
Albion One is my first “professional” orchestral library. I’ve reworked some older compositions in it and I’m composing new stuff daily. So much fun and so easy to use.

legatos are working of every instuments but spicatto or the other patches like synth sound or repetation of one sample.
Well, film music can be any type of music, as long as it fits the film's story. For example, Full Metal Jacket has non-orchestral music in it, the movie mixes up the music genres through-out. It was stylistic but yet suited its scene's tone.
Thanks Homay! I'm very new to all this but bought Albion One a month or so ago to do original music for my demo reels. It's wonderful! I'm wondering: 1) can you guys publish a template that sets up Logic with all the instruments organized, it would be so much easier for beginners as I spend so much time just trying to discover each sound. Having the whole orchestra laid out as you have it might make it so much easier to get going 2) can you recommend some compatible (hopefully inexpensive) DAW control surfaces for regulating expression and dynamics - it's hard to figure out what's best. (I was looking at the Korg NanoKontrol but some reviews state it may not be that compatible)
A great tutorial, especially with all the sounds coming from one library, but I think if you used a stock reverb instead of the third party one, it would be more appealing, especially if people are on a budget!
Great clip - thank you. Wonderful sounds, music and orchestration. Though - I'm really interested in how you created the title channels in the header which don't have a colour bar. Do you have a colour palette with a no colour option? Or something sneakier even? Hmmm…………
@@kugan_ Yes of course! Then that "no output" channel can be used as a divider/heading containing the name of the orchestral section that follows. Very clever - thanks for your insight.
Very nice. Like your ideas and orchestrations. Would also like to hear you do something that includes very soft content as well for great contrast. Wherever or however you chose to do it, I’m sure it would be great.
Thank you so much for this video Homay. I have Albion ONE and it's an awesome library. It's great to see how you use it to compose. Any chance of getting the logic project file to see all the settings and articulations?
This looks fabulous - I wasnt clear whether you are using one instance of the plugin and accessing each sound on different midi chanels or if its multiple instances if you could advise!?
Love these spitfire samples! It'd be really useful to know what controller your using for crescendos and volume control seems really useful. (the dials with Homays left hand)
Although this is not a specific Albion ONE question... But does Spitfire have any vids on setting up Templates and/or channel VI assigning... If that's a proper question? Lol. Hope I'm asking it the correct way.... So many composers that do vids have massive amount of channels and I'm not sure if it's a sample of ( for example) Brass Longs, or Woods spiccato....etc. Or are these just set up like templates... Using the same set up I'm referring to.
Quick question: why would you not have the expression and the dynamics controlled together by one fader if you're moving them in the same way most of the time?
Are you using an instance of Kontakt for every channel strip ? Can't find a video about the best way to configure Logic mixer with kontakt...help please
This is exactly my question too! I'm struggling with Kontakt multis - it seems easier to me to set 1 instrument to one Kontakt instance and give each a track in Logic. I've heard that it eats up memory though? Any thoughts / help advice greatly appreciated!!
David Beardmore I had other answers about this and yeah, apparently people load one instance per instrument of Kontakt on different tracks. Easier to set up and easier to have everything in order .
@@albylizhard Ah thanks AC - I'd hoped there would be a template for Logic & Albion ONE but I can't find one anywhere so am slowly building my own. That was a key question - whether to have one instrument per track or try figure out the Kontakt multis! Thanks
Was wondering if you could make an equipment list you have in this video and post it on the comments section - from the wonderful desk, expression module, to the flat screen. Would be deeply grateful!
I apologize in advance for asking a very beginner question, but that's what I am: I would like to know if the attack (not the dynamics) and other envelope parameters of the Albion One strings can be modified. Thank you!
I just saw this video and I like Albion One, but looking as a newbie to all these libraries, as a beginner, it's almost frightening to choose and maybe its the wrong library. Not the library itself, but my confidence to do what you do with it. All the named libraries are done by professionals and that's why they sound so great. Anyway, I can't afford it at the moment, but I know you have sales sometime, but would like to save up for that. I hope I can get a response from you.
I see that you use the Logic pro Daw. Could the Albion One be compatible also with Ableton live 10 or Cubase?? Or do i need exclusively the Logic in order to produce Cinematic Film Music.?? For i have windows PC , that's why i'm asking!
Hello, I need help in how set up the mixer to create a template and put all different sounds of Albion on different channel strips . Is every channel strip a new instance of Albion ?
Thank you for video!!!! My favourite library but not yet discovered all there:) Question, wich Fader you use? I could not see,i can't decide wich i need to get to work better and eaaier with dinamic instead to make automation manually everytime...
what controler you youse for the volume control al i see is " freak on top of the controler" would be nice if you can tell me what it is real name and where i can find, thanks a lot. nice shout out. great vst !

Thanks in advance for your reply ;-) I'd like to get control over the various cc-settings. Sorry for the noob question. Of course anyone else who knows the answer, feel free to reply. Thanks again.
Great video Homay.... I'm looking at creating a studio set-up soon...iMac, Logic Pro X, Roland RD2000 (?), Focusrite Clarett 4pre USB audio interface, a expression controller and Spitfire Albion ONE (for starters). Does anyone know how to wire this equipment up.. regarding USB/midi cabling? Can't find any wiring digrams on the internet!! Really confused how to wire in the Expression controller... do I use USB or midi?!!! regards, Martin
Hello again : did you make this with just one instance of Albion ? How do you set up mixer channel strips ? Is every channel a different midi channel of Albion ? Need help in setting up my mixer
Thanks for this tutorial, I've had Albion for a while and have learnt some really useful tips here. One question I have is how you have created the section breaks on tracks 10, 12, 18, 25 etc? I've been trying to work this out for a while now and bang, there it is on your template! Appreciate anyone's comments suggestions please :-)
There are 2 automation lines because she selected multiples clips with different automation between them. She is controlling the MIDI CC1, which is standardized as Modulation, but you can set any kind of parameter to any CC, independently of what it's regularly called. And Spitfire Libraries usually default the Dynamics (she is controlling the dynamics, not the volume) parameter of their VSTs to CC1, so even though it's called Modulation, she is actually writing dynamics.
It's rare that someone showcases a product like this, and successfully delivers the reasons of how musicians and aspiring composers/scorers could BENEFIT in such detail. This REALLY is a great product sell. Very well done Homay - it would be nice to see you covering so much more like this!

Fantastic demo of a fantastic product....Thank you Homay!
Sounds great. If only I could afford it.
You'd be surprised how great their $29 Epic Strings sounds. Have you tried it yet?
For professional use, it's cheap and will pay for itself quickly.
You may well now be able to afford it. It's US $269 until the end of the month.
@ There are very few "professionals" in this line of work that actually require this level of curated workflow and out of the box quality.
what does O Mic position mean ?
Homay, would be great if you could save your logic file so we can bring it in to our Albion One to get an idea of how it all works together!
I would love this! I have so many ideas but have trouble figuring out how to actually make things sound like they do in my head.
Great idea!
Absolutely! That would be really helpful. And please save the midi files so we can open it in Cubase too!
Or even better a MIDI export so we all can have a play.
As a first beginner "professional" library I'm tempted lol
Nice piece of music! Great as a demo! Can’t wait to get behind my pc again 🤪

I know I'm rather late, but I myself was wondering why "film music" is often thought of as orchestral...guess it's up to the artist? 🤔

Nice presentation, and impressive sounds. But one thing I don't get - if it is meant to sound realistic, why on earth would you quantise everything?
Nice demonstration and nice music. No wonder ppl talk about this lib so much. I'm sold. But I'm broke. :-(
