Base model has a digital dash, which is cheaper, has plastic mud guards with are cheaper, no brembo anymore, which is cheaper… but the price increased. Well done. 👍
Probably because of all the upgraded electronics.. You now have ride modes and things that you can configure, and a digital dash makes that all easier... Hard to do all that on analogue dials, I would imagine?
Plus the spec went DOWN on the base model. Incredibly disappointing Triumph. Plus I agree on the hundreds of comments about the twin clocks. You Fucked up Triumph!
when people asked for an RS version of the speed twin I don't think anyone was saying to make it more modern. By removing the twin clocks and by adding those speed 400 design ques like near the air filter, it's just tasteless. Sorry Triumph I'll stick with my 2022 Speed twin with Ohlins in the back and stunning looks.
I am the proud owner of a 23 Speed in Orange. Bought new and my first Triumph in over forty years of riding. I have been really impressed with my bike, the dealer and all after care. Coming to the end of my riding carrier and the Speed was going to be the last bike. Then a whisper of an RS version, interesting, exciting even, maybe my last hurrah could be with a new RS. Then I saw it, sorry but it looks awful. The old version (mine) you can visually see a tie-up to a Bonneville, a hot rod version of one, that`s why I bought it. The new one, has non of these design ques, apart from the motor, which now looks out of place. It could now have Yamasaki on the tank and even that lovely previous shape has been altered for the worse. All the RS version needed was the adjustable forks, maybe the rear springs (but I think the standard ones are fine, so are the brakes) and some trick colours and a few more billet bits here and there. Now it looks cheap, plasticky and not retro at all. Sorry to go on but I for one was disappointed, the design team have ruined a future classic and that is such a shame. On the bright side, I get to keep a bike that you as Triumph should be proud of.
And you slap on a budget dash and want 14.5k for it. No thanks. For that price I would expect full Ohlins front forks and those gorgeous clocks from the Thruxton. I was interested in buying one but not now. You have blown it.
I love my 2019 Speed Twin and I will not change to 2025 Speed Twin with a single digital panel. I did think of changing to a new '25 model, but no more. I will only do upgrades on my bike. I love all the details of the 2019 model.
What is going on at Triumph with the decisions behind this bike? The 400 was a clearly a success but judging by the public feedback, this bike release has been a disaster. And what's with all the different angles, nothing aligns. Seat, Side panels, motor, and tank all point in different directions? The colour schemes are terrible and now there's an entry-level bike's dash on a 14k+ priced bike. ? And cruise control is an additional option? That should be standard on both variants today.
As a lover of the Triumph brand, i think while this may be a better package, handling etc. I cannot get why you would drop the twin clocks which looked elegant for the trident digital dash, this is wrong. Bring back the Thruxton RS which i would take any day over this. Just my opinion 👍
I was really expecting a combination of the Speed Twin and Thruxton, and then this comes out. Sorry Triumph, but to me it looks like a slightly larger 400 model. I’ll stick with my Z900RS for now and hope you release something super cool soon, like the Thruxton.
They also took out Sport Mode , and installed plastic instead of brushed aluminum fenders. The only real upgrade on the bike is 5 more HP . Triumph is usually really good when they make changes , this time they've really screwed the pooch.
Twin instrument pods gone!? Damn! Nope, not interested in the modern classics anymore as it doesn't remain much "Classic" anymore. I absolutely love (loved, now though) the Speed Twin 1200, but the usage of this digital dash from the Trident 660 looks absolutely horrendous on the Speed 1200. Extremely disappointed. :(
Rs for 14k and there are no double clocks. The bike looks great and the changes are great, but in my opinion Triumph will lose a lot of customers because of this cheap speed measuring crap.
Rider position is a great feature on my 2019, like a hybrid between the triple and the T120. I like tucking in on the freeway, then having a relative upright position in town. Plus the twin clocks on my bike with the Arton Works face swap out looks incredible. Can't imagine trading that for the brand generic looking round digital screen. The tank paint job, while not unattractive, will make adding any tank pads look clunky and unaesthetic.

I love the twin clocks and the red and black paint scheme on my 2019 Speed Twin. I wouldn't have minded a quick shifter and cruise control, maybe the better suspension. Sorry, I really doubt if I'll be changing my 2019 one, those twin clocks on my one, I still really like looking at them ! Now if you made a 1050 -> 1200 triple engined (with a 120 degree crank, and NOT a lumpy T plane crank) modern classic that looked like a speed twin , I could be interested in one of those ! ( with Twin clocks like a 2019 Speed Twin, QS, cruise control and a nice planish red paint scheme )
The end can puts me off the most. I think if I changed my 2020 speed twin today I would go for the Kawazaki z900rs. A retro with all the history and cheaper; it pains me to say this. my local dealer has been amazing but the recent bikes seem to be watered down. I know there is more HP but the cheaper parts/less quality and more cost.
I didn’t get the old Thruxton because it’s already 8 years old, so I went for the beautiful Z900RS instead, hoping that something really cool would come out soon - a retro combination of the Speed Twin and Thruxton. But this is really way off, so I’ll stick with my Kawa for now and hope Triumph will release something truly cool soon.
It's a beautiful bike, but I don't understand why Triumph killed the Thruxton name and then basically brings it back but without the name and twin gauges.
Great to see the ongoing development of this platform. Not a fan of the Trident derived instrument cluster, but do like the added features it provides.
triumph, if you still have time to pause production and switch to the old twin clock design you should do that. the single clock design looks cheap and off center, making the bike appear asymmetrical. it sure seems like you listened to a bean counter instead of someone who actually has a passion for this model. ya done goofed here.
I still really like the twin clocks on my 2019 Speed Twin ! If you need a bit of LCD/TFT display for the new stuff, have a look at how Kawasaki do it on the Z900RS ! ( but I guess you know that already !)
Oh dear..no. My 2019 Thruxton R looks a million dollars compared to this.. if this is the real, ready-to-be-released iteration, than I think you have really cocked up Triumph.. sorry, just no. Not a credible replacement for the Thruxton R (or RS), and insulting to Speed Twin owners - Model yr 2024 Speed Twin's have now just gone up in value!

I travelled 500 Km away and was supposed to test ride the last generation T speed twin and wait and buy the new ST!! What a bummer the twin dials are no more! This has put me off and not buying a retro classic with single digital Speedo !! Goodbye Triumph 😢 !
Why if going with a screen did you not use the rocket style one? The trident tft is barely functional and looks cheap. Twin tft or one tft one mechanical would have been cool. This sucks

The new RS model.should have been a refresh to the 2nd gen Speed Twin. You had it nailed with the styling and now it's ruined. Update the frame, suspension, brakes, engine... but leave the rest alone. The new dash, tank, and headlight are hideous and you've effectively killed the sales of the Speed Twin.
Something is seriously wrong with that dash...shouldn't it have 2 gauges, one for RPM and the other for Speed. If it's supposed to look like an older bike, that would be a smart styling choice, this looks too modern.
This is a great looking motorcycle. Love the single clock with the TFT, cruise control, rider modes, quickshifter, Ohlins, Brembo master cyclinder with stylema's , wheels, and IMU! Great job Triumph! Get it to the USA ASAP!
Dash is complete off, no twin meters. No showa for cost cutting and 400 series head lamp for making that bike look extra cheap. Triumph really? From a glance one can think of speed 400 with different colors from the front view. Disappointed with this. Bring back thruxston 1200 RS
Wow, what a miss. That single clock is awful. Also what's up with the different peg position forcing you forward like a Thruxton? With these fails it would be better value to buy a used Thruxton which ultimately looks better. Hard pass from me and the Speed Twin 1200 was going to be my next bike. Twin clocks are not negotiable on this bike. It's the essence of it. You clocked up there.
2 years ago I was buying a motorcycle, I wanted to buy a triple and I wanted to buy a street triple RS but I couldn't stand this weird wing tachometer. Finally bought XSR 900. What I mean by this story is that you can actually lose clients because of clocks/dashes. The ones you put onto new speed twin 1200 are neither modern nor pretty, they are just stupid. I would even understood if you put small TFT like BMW installs as an option on R19 but noooo, you found this cheap turd and decided that this is a good idea to go with it on your supposedly premium product. BTW headlamp looks weird as well :P.
All the posters here complaining about the twin clocks ... did any of you all actually own one with those twin clocks? They were terrible, despite looking retro from 10 feet away. Kawasaki did good with a small TFT between twin clocks. Triumph missed the mark on the twin clocks that needed to support modern features. At least the new single gauge will be usable and readable. As good as it is, I don't really want Kawasaki's inline-4 retro that's just a modern sports bike in disguise, I want the Triumph twin-cyl. Or BMW's take on it with their opposed pistons. As long as it's pleasant to use and not Yahama ugly. If you need to stare at your bike in the garage, there's Ducati and Harley.
Nope, sorry, not for me :/ I'll stay with my modified Thruxton 1200 R. This one is not competing at all with the Yamaha XSR 900 GP.
