What I do is go to parachute rapidly put it on and off and then continue with the mission then I can save it afterwards.

@@wckmllr7758 I went straight to it, put it on, put on gloves and then new session.
Spawned in wearing it and then saved it...I'm on PS4 though.
I heard going to parachute and putting it on and off then finishing the whole mission worked but haven't tried that.
