@Pro_IslandRoyale It's not rare when you can easily break bedrock in creative then fall through in survival, but in terms of standard survival gameplay, you'd be correct.
I think at 2048 blocks it isn't even necessary to have a high sensitivity. You could just walk along this axis with a very small deviation from a perfect north/east/west/south walking direction, coming slowly closer to the unvisible gap and fall through.
I might be inclined to agree if it wasn't for the number being a power of 2. All the data for the game, like all computer data, would be stored in bytes, like how he explained the stripe lands becoming visible, 2048 might be the point at which the void portion becomes occupiable. Although I don't know. Is minecraft precision 2048 per block?

Imagine leaning on a wall and then you just suddenly fall through reality. The idea of reality glitching like happens in games has always been nightmare fuel for me. For those into SCP stuff, look up the broadcast tower. That kept me up at nights.
Mojang has separate development teams working for Java and Bedrock. They run in different programming languages, so crossplay is extremely difficult. Microsoft has control over both, but monetizes the Bedrock Edition extensively.
Also, in Minecraft Bedrock Edition, there is a invisible barrier at Y=--40, in 1.18 Y=--104, but if you travel enough, that barrier will dissapear. And you will fall into void infinitely!
I think the most annoying glitch/bug I've encountered is entering or exiting the nether and it would spawn me randomly in the overworld. It will never spawn me on where the nether portal is originally placed. This is on Realms though
ant you actually described it pretty well. floats (the storage used for position) becomes half as precise every power of two you move away. a similar bug even existed in SM64, where mario would become more jittery the farther you went out. in some PU's (the game wrapping the level geometry out to infinity), you wouldn't even be able to make it to the next position check, meaning mario would just run in place.
before it was fixed, clipping through bedrock accidently into the void was the worst accident in my case. only i did a place a redstone repeater(or else) on a 1 by 2 tunnel, step on it, 30% chance to get through the bedrock.
This is definitely a floating point error. Floating point numbers are often used because it can do decimals. But you may know if you have spent much time messing around in a computer calculator, it has issues as it gets further from 0. You don't usually need decimal precision, when you get very far from 0. In a game with an endless world though, there should not be a difference when far from 0. Minecraft should use integers for the position, and make it so every 1024 or so is one block.
I believe what happens is as the value of the floating-point doubles or squares, the computation causes it to become less precise and therefore the calculation of the hitbox relative to the visual block becomes off and therefore there is a visual block but lack of hitbox and jitteriness due to bad calculations of player and block positions. These are known as Floating Point Precision Errors and also cause other problems within and well outside Minecraft.
Now this makes me worried to even go past 2000 blocks in Bedrock Edition since you can randomly fall out at any time. I can still reproduce this bug in Bedrock 1.16.1
I always used to do java, but my laptop became unreliable, so I switched to bedrock edition on my tablet. This glitch must be fixed. How is this acceptable? I FEEL SO UNSAFE
@@JoeMama-dq5wq I guess it's not a horrible.e issue, but the fact this can happen at ANY distance doubling from spawn is unnerving. Especially since mojang said they won't fix it. But your right, hardly anyone goes that far. Wait, it's fixed? A week ago I teleported a few million out and managed to fall through the world. Well, I guess that really far out though
Honestly, I think it is kinda cool that that is a thing. I feel like it is just an unintended feature, and I think it could be a cool way to make a secret entrance to a base, or just a cruel trap...
@@ChongCMfan nah still there, if you get far away enough in bedrock you fall through the world, actually checked now in 1.21 in java i can do whatever i want at 16 million blocks away and in bedrock I fall through the world.

@@mitsukiiee4548 Herobrine and Entity303 are just stories done to scare people and what a lot of these stories have in common is trying to bleed reality into them or they do (really easy to do) editing tricks. for instance the very first "appearance" of herobrine was a flat texture on a wood wall in a house. you can tell it was for a few reasons but the most obvious reason to believe this was just a retexture of something was the fact that the lighting dipped when it was on the herobrine block and popped back up the next block over. Don't be scared of a stupid story that's trying to make you think it's real. You can get a mod on java to add an ai of what people think herobrine would do, but as far as i can remember the mod won't ever delete saves or not let you play minecraft, cuz at that point I believe it would be considered a sudo virus.

I've never had this happen and ive been pretty far. Im guessing it's pretty rare. My current game base is around 1600 so i guess im safe there? did they fix this at all?
It hasn't happened to me yet but I'm horrifed that the day will soon come. It seems to be pretty rare in smaller distances but if you travel millions of blocks away you'll definitely fall through the world. I can attest to that through goofing around in creative. That's the stupid thing. Not only has it NOT been fixed...but they're not going to fix it.
They still don't want to fix this bug because they want Minecraft to be playable on a 7y old devices. Who in 2019 has a 7y old device? Very few people I imagine. They can buy a phone for pubg, fortnite, asphalt 8 or 9, but not for Minecraft?
I've never encountered this problem. And I've been playing bedrock since it was pocket edition alpha 0.8. Bedrock has its quirks. But it's really not that bad. The benefits far outweigh the negatives.

The worst glitch happened to me today, went to fight the ender dragon, stepped through the portal and spawned in the void. I lost full netherite with perfect enchants including tools. Needless to say I’m pissed
@Electro ninja well it's somewhere after 18mil so you don't have to tp *that* far away Btw I play on a phone and it was *LAG* as in 12fps Slower than my usual 20
I found a area WAY WAY farther than the lines that are one block they are 5 BLOCKS APART u can do it by putting a rly height number also village’s still spawn and all blocks are size of slab and in normal worlds there is water u always fall though but on flat worlds there is just grass and bedrock, not even dirt what I do is put any number with 6, zeros and than a number before that like 7000000
I tried to do the same thing in Beta 1.7.3 and was able to see the camera movement problems as far back as X: 1024. It's extremely hard to see and you have to look at the movement of the pixels themselves rather than looking at the player's hitbox. You have to go to X: 8192 in order to see the hitbox jitter.
So, I’ve been playing on bedrock for a few years, and I’ve traveled easily over 80k+ blocks multiple times over the years (I’m a traveler). Never seen this happen, or even lag/stutter. Worst bug was chunks taking a bit to render. Am I missing something?
Ys this hasn't happened to me either. I'm seeing conflicting comments: some say it's been patched and others say that it is still there and it killed them :/
I think I know exactly why this happens. To store real numbers (like 2.5 or 131072) computers use what's called "floating-point variables" There are two types of those: floats and doubles. (In some languages like C++ there are also long doubles, but I don't think Java has them.) The float takes up 4 bytes of memory, and the double takes up 8 bytes of memory. A 32-bit integer also takes up 4 bytes - and they can store ~4.2 billion different values. You can't store more than 4.2 billion distinct values in 4 bytes, so how does the float store real numbers? Well, a float is divided into a mantissa, a exponent and a sign bit. The sign bit is obvious - it controlls whether the number is positive or negative. The actual value of the float is this: -1^signbit * mantissa * 2^exponent. It's like scientific notation, but in base 2 instead of base 10. Since you can store numbers as big as the number of atoms in the universe, you'll need to lose precision somewhere (like scientific notation). In doubles, the mantissa and exponent are twice as big, and there you don't need to worry about precision. In Beta 1.7, the player position was a double, but the positions used for rendering are floats (probably because OpenGL prefers them to some degree). In bedrock, the block hitbox sizes are floats and the imprecision kicks in.
It never had perfect performance. As soon as the world gets big (mine is 200MB+) it often gets super laggy resulting in things like not being able to open chests for a few seconds
Java: /tp @s 29999999 ~ -29999999 And you are fine, there's just a border Bedrock: not even 4000 blocks out, and you can already fall through thevworld
Even tp 300 000 000 000 blocks in java, and you still are fine In java, it only starts around 375 TRILLION BLOCKS (Although you need heavy modding, if not, it crashes at 2147483647 blocks (or the 32 bit limit)
I mean it’s kinda acceptable at 65566 blocks away as no one is actually gonna travel that far but 2048 blocks is pretty unacceptable, but at least it’s super hard to trigger. At 4096 and 8096 it does seem pretty poor though
I did some testing with this glitch, and your explanation appears to be incorrect. What I observed was subsequent falling after the initial fall until I exit and re-enter the game. However, I did not observe falling through the world simply by standing on the edge of a block, even past 4,194,304. I think the block hitboxes are correct, player’s hitbox changes to 0.
I personally think it happens when the player's movement is stopped by floating point errors and the the player's x/z position perfectly coinciding with an integer at the same time.

ant you actually described it pretty well. floats (the storage used for position) becomes half as precise every power of two you move away. a similar bug even existed in SM64, where mario would become more jittery the farther you went out. in some PU's (the game wrapping the level geometry out to infinity), you wouldn't even be able to make it to the next position check, meaning mario would just run in place.
before it was fixed, clipping through bedrock accidently into the void was the worst accident in my case. only i did a place a redstone repeater(or else) on a 1 by 2 tunnel, step on it, 30% chance to get through the bedrock.
Isn't that a floating point number with extra steps? /s
So you want a 1-pixel block???
And there will simply be 2 arrays of coordinates: in the world (integer) and in the block (decimal) 👍
You meant fixed point
1:37 that is so freaking trippy, like wtf? Feels like dimensions are struggling to converge into one

@@JoeMama-dq5wq I guess it's not a horrible.e issue, but the fact this can happen at ANY distance doubling from spawn is unnerving. Especially since mojang said they won't fix it. Honestly, I think it is kinda cool that that is a thing. I feel like it is just an unintended feature, and I think it could be a cool way to make a secret entrance to a base, or just a cruel trap...
How would you use it as a trap? Unless you made them fly millions of blocks away, I don't see how this could be a trap.

@@ChongCMfan nah still there, if you get far away enough in bedrock you fall through the world, actually checked now in 1.21 in java i can do whatever i want at 16 million blocks away and in bedrock I fall through the world.
OK, now I'm scared to create a survival world. I haven't done it yet because I was waiting for the update to show up, but after seeing this, I'm sticking with creative mode. 😨
I'm like this since I learned about Herobrine and Entity303.

Btw I've had a surf. world for over 7 years and my house is at 10784 134 583279 and this has never happend. \_('_')_/

I have encountered this glitch in the game and ive tried I think its fixed, plus lots of people still play minecraft on 360.
I've never encountered this problem. And I've been playing bedrock since it was pocket edition alpha 0.8. Bedrock has its quirks. But it's really not that bad. The benefits far outweigh the negatives.

Thats an different bug, that obe is just the world renderer breaking down, bedrock is the entire movement system breaking

I'm seeing conflicting comments: some say it's been patched and others say that it is still there and it killed them :/
I think it's just pure luck.
If you travel to millions of blocks you'll definitely fall through then.
Creeper
Edit 2 years later: aw man
So we back in the mine
Thanks for the thorough explanation it was cool to learn about!
Woah Is this the end of bedrock editions perfect performance?! auto correct :/
What do you mean Enrico? You can't fix bugs by changing your settings.

Hola
I once walked 150 000 blocks from spawn on minecraft bedrock edition and nothing bad really happened. Just a little jittering from a bug
Java: /tp @s 29999999 ~ -29999999
And you are fine, there's just a border
Bedrock: not even 4000 blocks out, and you can already fall through thevworld
Even tp 300 000 000 000 blocks in java, and you still are fine
In java, it only starts around 375 TRILLION BLOCKS
(Although you need heavy modding, if not, it crashes at 2147483647 blocks (or the 32 bit limit)
So that's why 2b2t is only on java
servers also are just not as good on bedrock
bedrock edition
Java is the oldest
0:46 bruh he sounds like the foot lettuce dude
Who, Chills? Uhg, I hate him

Java edition is one of the best Minecraft versions by far.
I personally think it happens when the player's movement is stopped by floating point errors and the the player's x/z position perfectly coinciding with an integer at the same time.
playstation 4 edition is the only edition of minecraft that don't have this glitches
but we have duplication glitches and a barrier
