Put your expensive sunglasses or prescription glasses in the fridge to protect them if you are leaving them in the car. My mother had her $1000 progressives destroyed by leaving them on the dash, direct sun, warped frames and the coating on the glass bubbled and cracked.
Hey man. Good videos! I’ve been looking for a 12v fridge and I’ll be using your link. Just a heads up for anyone using one of these. Use the 12v to your power station/ car. It will cause the Battery to last about 20-30% longer as it won’t have to convert the DC to AC.
Remember, as we are approaching summer, the high grade sunglasses coating will be turned off and you can save some more energy by placing your sunglasses in the refrigerator.
Big fan of yours. Congrats on being on Gutted. If the Producers need an extra van. My wife’s 2001 E350 7.3 powerstroke van has been sitting for a couple years and she still plans on getting it ready for VanLife when we can afford building it. It’s been gutted forever and Pandemic took a toll on us. Please if they need a van for the show. It’s clean

Instead of getting a light inside, there's a USB Socket on the top. So we plug in a flexible USB Powered Light (like students plug into laptops to light up their books) and when the door is open, we shine the light down into the fridge. I enjoyed your video very much! I just purchased the BougeRV 53 quart freezer/frig 6/2/2022 for $299.00. Free delivery and I love it. Keep up the good work and stay safe!
Right on, I have the same one for my family camping in a tent for their motocross races. The fridge is a tank having been in hot dusty environments and massive torrential rain storms. Runs great off of my 12 volt Go Sun portable 244 rugged battery or my Go Sun 1100 larger battery also with a 12 volt plug. Even though I have a 1500 watt AC plug in the trunk of my 2018 Mitsubishi PHEV, I make sure my Go Sun 244 portable battery is fully charged and I rest the battery in the extra Fridge bag cover pocket or another flat surface in my trunk. I find this easier to keep the fridge powered vs connected to my car while I drive.
It’s Dutch’s, glad I got to meet you. You’re such a real genuine person. Really appreciate the True information about the refrigerator. For me would be too small. But I’ll look at the other ones. I have their 53 quart fridge/freezer and absolutely love it!!! When I’m not using it for travel I use it at home as a little deep freezer. I was also wondering about the sunglasses suggestion in the manual 😂😂😂.
For anyone who didn’t know, or doesn’t travel, the desert, the temp is super high and even higher in a vehicle, glasses can be ruined or damaged just left in a vehicle, so they say to put them in the fridge to keep them safe.
You might be able to take the guts out of some paracord and run the chain through it to keep it quiet. I just got this fridge and it's pretty good for the price. Runs for a long time on my small solar generator. Using it as a backup fridge in case this hurricane takes out our power.

the reason it's hard sometimes to read those manuals along with other products from other countries is that they take a written form of the manual say in chinese and then do a direct wording into another language whether it's understandable or not because some words are not easily a direct translation kind of like playing the modern version of telephone with text messages
Hi, so glad to get another video. We're really looking forward to the new content and how the competition went. It looks like you brought some of your clever space saving techniques with you! I was wondering if you could show how you moved your camper off the truck. Most of the time, you do things by yourself, so I'm curious how that process went, weight, attachments, assembly, etc. Thanks!
I haven't seen you in so long that I've forgotten that I was subscribed to you. I'm planning to do some car camping soon in my van and I will look into getting the fridge that you spoke about.
Happy to hear you were a participant in “ Gutted” . I follow many of the participants and your past vids certainly qualify you as a major player in this arena.
That’s pretty sweet. The only reason I’m going to go with a bigger Iceco is for extended trips, less restock, and I probably don’t need it, but I want the option to have it as a split with a freezer side.
Just a quick FYI, you meant to say that the compressor is quiet, not the condenser….without getting too into the weeds, in a Freon refrigerant system heat is absorbed by the vapor refrigerant in the evaporator core, then compression of the refrigerant by the compressor. The high pressure/high temperature state of the vapor refrigerant gets converted to liquid in the condenser
My biggest beef with any portable fridge/freezer And or cooler is the heights I have a camper 05' Blazer with a full size bed on Ikea telescopic rails (x3) which extends a few inches above the rear wheel wells I rather have a longer Fridge/freezer that is shorter to run on a railing system under the bed Than a taller fridge I have to throw on the passanger seat Or on the bed etc ...Food and Fridge one drawer And Burner And sink on the other
Just buy a good 12 volt compressor that runs on r134 and install it on a r134 mini fridge. Granted not many know how to do this but experience is the best teacher if inclined to do so.
Costco has Massimo 12 volt e-koolers on sale but then I checked out Bouge and they're about the same price on sale. I'm not 100% happy with the 50L Massimo I already have (I paid $285), so I plan to get the tiny Bouge as a freezer.
I just bought the 30 quart for $216. Yes a whopping $216 it’s identical to yours I love it can you freeze successfully your blue ice in it it seems to me it’s taking too long I put ice in my cooler and then I don’t have to run my battery it just every once in a while kicks on have you tried that I’d like to do it with blue eyes, but it takes too long to freeze those blue Isis buddies here with white water ice

If it’s one thing I’ve learned about you and the whole van life is if you are going to convert any vehicle to van life then it’ll be smart to get solar panels? Dualex would you recommend?
Renology panels on Amazon calculate your wattage and what type of inverter you need , this dude helped me when I started the van life way back I think there’s a vid on this channel about it
tip: when powering 12 volt fridge, run it on dc, not 110. i.e. use the cigarette type power cord, not the household type plug. it uses a lot of extra power to convert your 12 volt power to 110, waste of energy.
Do you find that the Bouge keeps your food reliably cold at the temp you set? To me, it seems like I have to set it about 20 degrees to keep stuff in mine cold, not just cool. And bugs me because I don't want liquids to freeze and explode.
i have this fridge currently full timing and the compressor started to rattle on the plastic and it BUGS ME SO MUCH AT NIGHT. but other than that good fridge i could talk to amazon or something but too much hastle it works
Even Bob Wells has recommended them. He has said the expensive ones have the ability to break within a couple years, so why buy the expensive ones? I'm thinking about just getting a freezer and making ice for a larger cooler. Like freeze some milk jugs with water. Does this have the option to switch to a freezer?
You could get a a small to medium 110v ice maker and use them instead. Can reuse the cold water after ice melts to make new ice which would help to freeze them faster. Those small ice makers dont use to much electricity. And would always have ice. Those small chest fridges cant make ice unless dual zone or like you mentioned use it as a fridge.
