I collected sea weed about 2 years ago. I washed it out with water and placed the sea weed in a 20 gallon plastic planter that I let dry out for about a year. I could see salt crystal on the sea weed. I decide to shake it out a little to remove the salt crystals... Than I used another 20 gallon plastic container to start my compost with the sea weed, dried leaves, fresh garden trimming, magnolia seed pods ( I collect them for my compost) fresh vegetable and fruit scraps. Mixed it all together and than topped it off with my worm bin soil. Worms and eggs were also with in worm castings. After about 6 months I turned the container up side down into another container and had super rich soil with lots of worms and eggs through out the soil. There were lots of other micro white bugs crawling around the soil also The magnolia seed pods did not completely break down but I could mash them with my hand and mix them with the soil. .

Happy Valentine's Day Maria!!!💌💝🌹 Ok...... I'm obsessed with this! My seaweed (sargasum) is currently soaking out the salt in a bucket. I found a couple jellyfish while cleaning it, so gloves are definitely a must! Thank you for showing us how to save that $ and get great results. And I'm going to dry some of mine as well. I knew it would be super stinky, but most of mine are out side anyway....I'll let you know how it works and will be waiting for your next video.💕🤗 #mindblownbyseaweed 🤯

I am relieved that you wore the gloves! I myself would have never expected jelly fish. But anything is possible...I've found snakes hiding in my orchids! YIKES!!! I will show you how I plan on watering mine and I think I am only going to let mine brew for a week and see how it goes. Indeed let me know...what an exciting adventure for the both of us! I think the best and very expensive seaweed fertilizers is made of Norvegian kelp. I live in South Africa in cape Town we have tons of a very big kelp that I have been using in my compost and to make liquid fertilizer of. The roots of the plants don't grow as well like h and g fertilizer I'm still learning.

think i will stick to comfrey and nettles.....with the salt content you would need to rinse it very well otherwise you could kill your plants and loo at how much water would be wasted too...for people on water meters this would be expensive to make

    • @PictureMaria1
      @PictureMaria1  4 роки тому +2

There are a lot of people that actually collect and use seaweed and some put it directly into their garden as a top dress or mulch and don’t even rinse it off. Supposedly there is not enough salt content in the seaweed to cause damage to your plant and garden. I myself rinse it off just to stay on the safe side...majority of people that have a huge collection of plants as I do...understand the investment they are making when they choose this plant lifestyle...the care, time, money and energy involved is quite a commitment and sometimes can be rather costly, but the ones that are truly passionate about their plants are willing to go above and beyond to ensure their plants are at tip top condition. The happiness that my healthy, lush and flourishing plants give me always outweighs the struggle...as you mentioned though, there are many other options in how you choose to fertilize your plants and by all means choose the best one that suits your needs. This is just another option. I have other videos that show other organic material that I use as well. I give my plants a buffet of homemade organic fertilizers and supplements and they love and reward me for it. Thanks for watching and HAPPY GROWING!

maybe is interested for you this is the hydroponic liquid formula:
The bellow links are a videos for a system that I improved.
    ua-cam.com/video/zpVzLjLEZag/v-deo.html
    ua-cam.com/video/e_z0iBWNKpo/v-deo.html
This can have a bigger tank if needed, but always the tank must be under the last pipe. If not the last pipe overflow. If it is the opposite a small height will not permit the air lift the water to the top. The water level in the tank must be at least 1/3 of the total height to the highest pipe. If it is half and half one half lenght is under the water tank level and the other half is that the air must lift will have more flow the system as less head to lift and more submerged pipe more flow will have the system.
Also can be a bigger tank a bigger compressor and some lines in parallel with each one a pipe to lift water from the tank.
This example have more and less 80 liters. I will explain a tentative procedure.
    Materials:
So can have for the 80 liters example:
    - 100 grams of lemongrass
    - 100 grams Paico
    (Chenopodium Ambrosoide.

    - 100 grams cow mole dry
    - 100 grams seaweed dry

    - The mycorrhizal for trays and seeding the small plants can be:
    www.amleo.com/mycoapply-ultrafine-endo-ecto-mycorrhizae/p/UEE1
    1. Find one kilogram of pineapple, banana, mango or apple recycled from the market. Ones that are not good to sell but are not so much bad.
    2. Blend the fruit with some water after clean them. Leave the skin. And out it in a bucket.
    3. Boil 5 liters of water
    4. Put the boiling water in the bucket with the blended fruits.
    5. Cover with a thin cloth that can breast air through and leave it get almost cold. Must not feel hot the skin.
    6. Open a corner of the cloth and Add one bottle of half liter of raw cider vinegar with mother. Close as soon as possible.
    7. Leave ferment for 15 days in a place over 20 Celsius degrees but not with sun or hot place. Best 25 Celsius. Then pass it to a strainer. The leave it decant. With care pass to another bucket discarding the end with solid materials.
    8. In parallel to it take the dry sea weed that must be well washed to take out the salt in it. Put it in a small pot more and less pressed and add vodka, or white Ron until cover all the sea weed. Leave it for 14 days there with the pot well closed (can be non denaturalized alcohol, ethanol 60% .Needs water in it) . One day less than the vinegar fermentation.
    9. In the day before of the vinegar is ready add the alcohol and sea weed in the vinegar bucket and leave all together one day more. So the vinegar will have the fruits and sea weed before be strained. This will transform the ethanol in vinegar by the bacteria acetobacter contained in the mother of the vinegar.
    10. The lemon grass and Paico grow very fast and easy in a big pot. Is easy keep it in a warm corner even in very cold weather inside close to a window. For this example can be used 100 grams of each plant in 40 liters of water. This can be harvest in one pot easy. Are two 20 liter pots that must boiled. Can get cold a little and still hot but not boiling added to the system filling pipes and drum. Must be strained first. The hot gonna sterilize the system that is better. 100 grams of this tea apport approximately (www.organicfacts.net/health-benefits/herbs-and-spices/health-benefits-of-lemongrass.html).
    Calcium 0.9 mg/liter
    Magnesium 0.9 mg/liter
    Phosphorus 1.3 mg / liter
    Potassium 9.6 mg / liter
11.. Repeat the same for the cow or horse mole in 20 liters of water.
    12. When is cold the piping and drum add the bucket of vinegar of fruit that have the sea weed in the pipes and drum
    13. Make run the system for half hour.
    14. Add the bacterial inoculation according to the vendor recommendations. Can be same quantity as per kilogram of compost. Must split the inoculation in pipes and drum.
The vendor of the link that I mentioned recommend 0.25 kg per ton of compost of azotobacter. So are 0.25 grams per kilogram can be used 0.25 grams per liter or 20 grams for the complete system divided into the pipes and drum.
The bacillus amiloliquefaciens is not specified but the count of spores is ten times higher so the whole system probably needs only around 2 grams.
The vendor must be consulted for a that.
    15. Run for half hour again.
    16. Now is time to add the ash. This must added only in the pipes since is good keep the solids in the bottom there where the roots are. The ash first must be leaved in a bucket and add white vinegar until the pH is 7 then can be added there the potassium sulphate.
The requirements are for liter of water
    Nitrate 210 (Mili grams)
    Phosphate 50
    Potassium 420-14-339= 67
    Magnesium 75
    Sulphur 140
    Calcium 220-1.2 = 218.8
If the potassium sulfate is high purity and is Penta hydrated the molar mix weight 264 and in which 29.5 percent is potassium and 12 percent is sulphur.
So is necessary 1.15 grams of potassium sulphate per liter or 92.4 grams for the complete system.
This apport 339 Mili grams per liter
So is necessary add ash to complete 67 Mili grams. Per liter.
If the wood ash have 5 per cent of potassium is necessary add 1.4 grams of ash per liter or 112 grams of ash. Saw dust wood chips. Average 1/50 so must be fired about six kilograms of wood.
This ash have approximately 15 milligrams of phosphate so are necessary to add 35 miligrams of bone ash per liter or 2.8 grams for the whole system. The bone lost less weight and 42 per cent is phosphate. So in the six kilograms of fired wood a couple of bones are more than enough to complete the phosphate.
    17. Complete the system with cold boiled water or well filtered water or drinking water. Must not have chlorine.
    18. In some days like a week will make enough nitrate to put small plants there. Is expecting that the optimal quantity of nitrate is reached about at 40 days or less since in soil is capable to fix 20 kg/ha year .
    19. The trichoderma is added when the plants are placed there. And the plants trays can be done with glomus, rizhobium, or and rhizopogon to have mycorrhizal in the root.
    20. After one harvest must be done again an the removed liquid is organic liquid fertilizer for crops in normal Earth. The liquid must be strained.
Liquid can be cold driead like milk powder or soluble coffee with a spray and some vacuum to do a water soluble organic fertilizer with biological culture.
