I like how even though this game was "filler" it had strong references to what actually happened in the main story.
not rlly a filler. the first chronicle game was actually kishimoto's original plot ideas.
dredvax Calling this game a filler is indeed incorrect. It is only a small deviation from what actually happens and even throughout shippuden. I mean, Sasuke did end up coming back.

I remember these days lol, back when we all desperately wanted a game that was accurate to the anime, but got a bunch of hit or miss titles like this :(
I dunno, this, chronicles 2 and ultimate ninja 3 were pretty awesome.
Chronicles 2 was more enjoyable than the original, the game was less repetitive, local co-op was nice.
Chronicles 1 was just eh..... 90% filler until we got some abridged version of the actual story (like this fight), support characters were limited use, Naruto only had a few combos, it just got extremely repetitive and boring.
UN3 was good, but at the time, I think I really just wanted an open game like Rise of a Ninja that played as good as STORM.

The second fight only triggers if you beat the first one in under 3 minutes. It's really easy to do, but most people will play very carefully because they're afraid of getting insta-killed by the Lion's Barrage.

i remember about 7 years ago now, getting to this my first time through, AND THAT'S IT. i don't know if i unknowingly passed some requirement or something, but i never could get to do this fight. didn't mean it was any easier though.
In order to get the curse mark fight, you have to beat the first fight in less than 3 minutes.

Back in 2005 2006 i use to play this on the ps2 good times notice the rasengan is called power strike the game was a mash up storyline wich was actually further then the dub episodes that was aired on tonome the show was still in the early chunine exams ark b4 we really seen what they could do like 64 palms it blew my fuckin mind then i seen the episode of neji using it on tv point is the game was ahead of the show and if you did not play it you missed out a wee bit

Win in less than 3 minutes to start the curse mark fight. If you're too slow, the game skips it.
when ever i got to this part i never understood how i got to fight sasuke in his curse mark and when ever i did it was randomly. i just wished that this game had a condition in order to fight curse mark sasuke.
There was a condition, but the game never tells you. So far I know, you have to beat Sasuke with more than 3/4th of your health and haven't used any healing items (Dual items are not counted as healing according to the research I did).
