    I always thought about doing a delete. Texas is doing away with safety inspections in 2025. According to a friend of mine who happens to be happens to be an officer for the Texas Department of Public Safety, starting next year (2025), they will begin pulling diesel pick-ups over and doing an emissions test on site checking for diesel delete. If found deleted, they will issue a citation. The long & short of the story is, you will have so long to show the delete has been done away with and emission controls are back in place. It is at this point, they will conduct another emmisions test. What a damn shame.

      Ok, I see. So if it has all the components, except DEF, that makes a little more sense. The 2008 Ram never had DEF systems (2013 is when Ram started with DEF). If it had all the other components, there is a good possibility it has all been disabled with the tune in the truck. You should make sure it is tuned to run without all of that junk IF you are planning to remove it. I know that some box tuners require some of the components to be removed. Hope that helps.

    I'm a Mechanical Designer, so I have some background to back up my bull$hit.
    If you continue to "add lockwashers" where they weren't originally, on a torqued connection, three things can happen.
    1. You reduce the number of threads engaged in the hole (increasing the chance of stripping out the threads).
    2. The washer (flat or locking) changes the torque needed to adequately make your mechanical connection.
    3. By introducing a washer with an unknown coating for corrosion resistance on a Stainless Steel bolt, you increase the chances of dissimilar / galvanic corrosion.
    Your Mileage May Vary.

      We love our home and the environment. Yes, we understand. I’d love to know what’s worse, burning extra fuel, DEF (and the associated packaging, shipping, etc.) vs. less fuel. Like with emissions equipment is there more g/L of less harmful emissions vs. no emissions equipment producing less g/L of emissions. Anyway, with Canada vs. China, India, Russia, most of Africa, what we’ve done here is merely a drop in the ocean. We love planet Earth and want to enjoy and keep it pristine. DPFs are diesel PARTICULATE filters. Particulate settles out of the air, like dust. Not trying to make things worse, but we do spend a lot of money on these trucks and would like to make them last.

    • @calebjackson4708
      @calebjackson4708 9 місяців тому +3

      Lol. No they arent. All of the emission research works with multipliers. They take current emissions from vehicles then multiply year over year as if all of the vehicles are still driving and running while multiplying for growth. They never factor in that year over year the older vehicles are crushed as the newer ones come in. So their projections are always way off. And inflated. Mostly on what ifs.
      If I tell you there is gold in the atmosphere you just have to figure out how to capture it. You can research it for 20 years and come up with some similar features of gold found in the atmosphere and there still wont be gold there.

      @Jason-ms4gb 9 місяців тому

      Sadly, I wish I had the capacity to explain the bureaucracy behind the EPA, and how they determine emissions; and there is a TON of it. I was stating in my comment (not in specificity) NOX is a very bad neurotoxin amongst other chemicals that the DPF, DOC, SCR filter out very effectively. UREA (DEF) renders NOX almost to 0% ppm. Combusted Diesel is nasty stuff when analyzed with Horiba or AVL equipment. I'm all about making more power by deleting these things, I was trying to make light of just how bad unfiltered diesel is. I wasn't trying to insult your intelligence, I'm sure you've done your due diligence and research this topic. When you're behind a fella that "Rolls Coal" don't breath it, once you educate yourself on whats in it. It will change your outlook of diesel exhaust emissions. @@calebjackson4708

      One more thing we wonder is about the unburnt or unused DEF and how bad that is for us to breathe. I think scientists are starting to find evidence of it killing honey bees and plant life near roadways. I know that walking behind a DEF spewing diesel, it sure does burn your eyes and nostrils! I’m sure that’s not good for us either.

    • @Jason-ms4gb

      Unburnt/Untreatd DEF is Coaked on the DEF injector outlet, causing MIL codes, easy fix if the OEM would publish the issue to buyers. DEF is essentially a synthetic urine, diluted with H2O. Even Google gets this search right. @@ChrisAndLink
