@@AthanHristodulu yeah I just feel the eagles are a balanced team, they can put up points and move the ball and the defense can do well, as seen against Baltimore. The lions take too many risks to be at 1 because if they make decisions like that long term, as seen last year in the nfc championship game. It will come back to bite them. Us a 3, we need to be taken seriously, we are Super Bowl Contenders. The bills at 4. One not so serious loss to the rams but they are still good. The chiefs at 5, they are just winning with devil magic at this point. Cmon
Bills defense had a bad game. Allen refused to publicly berate them. The defense will remember how he handled that and won't let that happen again. As for Campbell, love that man just doing his own thing and letting it rip.
Because that gives them a far smaller window to keep him from hitting free agency. At this point, Darnold has done and shown enough in Kevin O'Connell's system, and I've been a doubter of his just about all season.
@AthanHristodulu I mean that's true in a way, but Sam knows that this is the plan. KOC told him that he could come here and get better and have the best year of his career so that he could rejuvenate his career. He knows he is here to be a bridge to JJ. If they go to or win the Superbowl, it's probably a different conversation internally, but anything short of that really, the JJ plan still makes the most sense. It's not like he's at home doing nothing. He's in the building everyday, he has hour-long meetings with KOC every week, and he is using VR to take reps through the Go Pro Sam wears during practice. Most players don't have mod season contract talks. KOC isn't even having extension talks yet, and of course they are extending him. This media narrative is a bit ridiculous at this point in the season.
It's also not unheard of for teams to see a season like this and go, alright, let's at least start the conversations. Even if he was just supposed to be a bridge, you offer Sam a competitive 3-year deal you can get out of in 2, you set JJ McCarthy up for success not having to rush him out before he's ready. His development has been set back missing this year injured, so you'll need more time. Now you'd have a QB you can compete with in the short-term while that QB gets paid and can land a massive deal at 30 if he continues to play at this level. I view Kevin O'Connell's situation differently because you're right. It's a forgone conclusion he's being brought back. There's no need to rush on that end. Obviously, none of this could matter because maybe they only need that month to get him signed if they decide to go that route in February. I'm just a little surprised that no one in the front office has at least mentioned anything to his agent yet.
@@AthanHristodulu yeah, in a normal situation, teams might start talks here, but in this specific situation it doesn't make much sense. The Vikings don't want to saddle themselves with a massive QB contract right now, they just did a ton of work to get out from under that and are eating 58 mil of dead cap this year to clear stuff up for next year. In addition to that, a lot of our good players are one 1 year deals, so those spots will need to be filled. Kwesi showed this year what he can do with a roster of he doesn't have a middle tier QB on a high end salary eating up cap. Granted, right now I view Sam in KOC's system as an elite QB, and most of the league probably views him at least as a viable starter in their systems. Sam wouldn't be smart to take a deal from the Vikings that is going to be lower than his market value, and unless he makes it to or wins the Superbowl, I don't see them wanting to suddenly jump back into a 45-50 mil a year QB. If you want to see kind of how the team feels, Wes Phillips did a presser today and talked a lot about Sam and his future. Also, it's pretty cool that you took the time to have this discussion in the comments.
The conversations in the comments are the most fun for me! I learn a lot from the people who follow their favorite team closer than I do, trying to follow the whole league equally. The thing we seem to differ on here the most may be what Sam Darnold would actually get as a contract. I look at him as someone due to get a Baker Mayfield type of contract in TB. I can see where you're coming from regarding a $45-50m type of deal. But I'm thinking he gets more like $35-40m. While this year has been great, it's one season in a stretch on an overall unsuccessful career. You can fairly point at the Jets and Panthers for that, but I can see teams still using that in negotiations. I also wouldn't be shocked to see some owner saying F that, here's $50m a year, so who knows.
Sam Darnold is playing as good as we could possibly hope JJ could be. They'd be stupid to let him go. Sign him to a 3 year 100mil deal, let JJ learn under him and vikings can have a fantastic quarterback for at least 10 years.
@yajinvasion That's my thought as well. McCarthy must have really shown them something before he got hurt to feel that comfortable not at least talking to Darnold's reps.
Watched your videos for the first time today. I like the detailed explanation and overall great quality! Keep it up :)

@@robertz44the Eagles are #31 in passing. How is that balanced?
@@paulmayer8654 cause if Barkley gets stopped then they pass or hurts can run. They are just a good team
@@robertz44 what about #31 in passing do you not understand? 😂 That's not just because they run a lot. The passing game has problems.

I just hope they don't let that happen again. Josh Allen is having a special season, and managing only one stop in that game is criminal
You should check out how many points that the Lions when going on 4th downs, it's surprising. Great show a show that I always look forward to.

Why would the Vikings negotiate with Darnold pre February? Wouldn't make any sense.
