The sales guy is partially correct. India has always been a price conscious market. The majority of sales has been of diesel engines, it’s only in recent 3-4 years Petrol engine buyers are increasing due to the new BS6 pollution norms. Most of it is from big cities, smaller towns and cities still prefer big diesel cars or small petrol hatchbacks. The SUV market is predominantly diesel engines, petrol engines are given only to cater to cities with diesel ban for older cars.
You're right about Safari not having 4x4 and being called a 'Safari', basically it's a 7 seater Harrier which was launched due to demand of a 7 seater and was called Safari. In summary, individuals who opt for diesel engine cars place a higher priority on having a powerful engine and enjoy the sudden burst of power that they provide. They are willing to overlook the higher cost associated with these vehicles, and some may even disregard the idea of preserving the environment. For many Indians, owning a car is seen as a symbol of luxury and status, and this makes it difficult to deter people from buying them.
Diesel used to be more polluting than petrol in the past but now due to strict emission regulation diesel engines are very much refined and sometimes even better in some cases, like BS6 diesel engines have 50% less CO2 and 10% less PM emissions but 33% more NOx emissions than a BS6 petrol engine of similar capacity. In India, one of the reasons why we have few petrol powered SUVs is because of fuel economy.

Hi, first of all, your Husband's way of dealing and questioning the salesman was absolutely fantastic. Secondly, I would like to tell you that the salesman here was not informed about the models. The Nexon model that you guys checked out in the showroom was a FEARLESS variant. One tip if your are going for the 2022 model Safari would be to ask for a good discount on it. Because it's a discontinued model, there will be some good discounts. Negotiate for as much as you can. The 2022 model Safari has a Hydraulic Steering, which is a bit heavy. This has been solved with the 2023 model where the steering has been changed to Electric. Also Harrier/Safari is known to have a heavy clutch if you guys are considering the manual variant. The automatic unit is sourced from Hyundai. Also, Tata spares are kinda on the expensive side if that bothers you. Plus they are not so good in Quality Control and are sometimes plagued with problems. Though, one of my friends has bought a Harrier and hasn't faced any problems yet. If reliability is your top priority, then go ahead with the Japanese. Hyundai and Kia are also good but have certain issues. For ex, the most infamous is the Hyundai Creta brake issue. Just google 'Hyundai Creta Brake Issue team bhp'. Though this issue was present in the earlier Kia Seltos too, but now it seems to have been fixed in the Seltos. Honda and Toyota are good too. Only problem is that, they don't sell their parts outside their authorised workshop. So incase your car needs some parts, you'll have to buy directly from the showroom/authorised workshop. Mahindra is better than Tata in terms of reliability and after sales service, but their cars can also be plagued with some issues sometimes. Though overall, Mahindra should be less fussy to own. Unlike Tata, they use their own Engines and source their automamtic transmissions from Aisin. The Scorpio -N and the Thar uses the same automatic transmission used in Toyota Fortuner, so those are definitely reliable. I would also advice yoyu guys to check the Skoda and Volkswagon.
Actually these car are designed according to Indian people requirment and Indian people want powerful car that's why this comes in diesel , If u want 4 by 4car then you can try Mahindra Thar

He literally marched into Babylon/Baghdad, which was the greatest city of the time and freed all the slaves there and banned the practice! He was pluralistic and respected all people and backgrounds. Even those who fought against him, like the Greeks, sing his praises. He is a true great and an inspiring figure of humanity. If you have time, read the Cyropedia. It is the Greek account of Cyrus. Many modern leaders of this world have learned from Cyrus.

There are a lot of things going on wrong here I don't understand why this Iranian man is ranting about negative points or irrelevant negative points which do not even exist. His nonsensical argument is weird with the agent. If I was there I would have suggested him to sit quietly because you're driving a safari such an amazing car, you don't even get to see these in Iran so be grateful that you're getting the chance to sit and drive in these cars. If you see he's only comparing Toyota and other brands features which even he don't know nothing about, safari is not 4WD, less Airbags, only Diesel option, why not Petrol, cheap jbl, why do you call it safari if it is rear wheel drive?, also saying there is loud noise, the material of the dashboard is cheap, agent kept explaining why only diesel option is available but he's asking same question why no petrol why no petrol 😂😂 and in the end he mentioned you love EVs and Diesel and you're a natural love who said the bro? Chill out bro don't ask too many questions if you don't want to buy! 😂😂😂
I'll suggest you to wait for thar double door new model which is currently under testing. Its 4×4 and bigger than the regular thar. But if you want a premium inside go for mahindra xuv 700.
As someone who own couple of Car,(bought about 6-7 years back due to the big marketing promo/status symbol etc propogated emtional angle of having my own car, own home etc) my advice don't buy new car in Banagalore or any other Cities of India..its big loss of money ..if you add the cost of car, interest, fuel cost and deprceition , a 25 lakh car in 5 years cost you around 50 lakh and when you go to sell it , it will not resell for more than 15 lakhs, so for 5 years, you pay 35 lakhs..now you add the headache of driving it in traffic, finding parking space , stress of road rage etc.. Instead if you use ola or uber for even every day for every travel, you will not spend more than 10 lakhs , so you save 25 lakhs plus you have a driver for ur each travel, no tension of parking, no stress of road rage etc, rather go for a seond hand good car of around 6-8 lakhs and keep it to use in emergencies or some family functions etc.
India is very niche and challenging car market for indian and global automobile manufacturers. And we are creating solutions for our own problems(which you can find mostly in India and some are applicable to rest of the world). And you will find manual in A,B,C Segment cars mostly. That's the mass market segment. And manual works in all the situations ++ financially also it's great and it's a proven technology which will not break. Because torque converters / DSG or cvt on entry level cars are financially not a good option. And in India for the whole trafic problem, we have a unique solution, that is "AMT" (it's an automatic, that works for India). You can find AMT gearboxes on all mass market entry level cars.
You may try Renault and Nissan next...these two french and jaoanese brand r doing good in India...Specially Renault kiger and Nissan Magnite... Next Citroen , another french beauty....🎉❤
Diesel cars are being phased out periodically can't just close it down like a switch . Millions of users needs time. 10 years is the govts stipulated period.
You can not debate preference with ideas. We Indians love driving manual cars, its just something we prefer. Also TATA is developing a petrol engine, won't however release it unless the engineers are fully satisfied with it. We aren't American or Chinese.
@@fati.greenland the reason being is the new model is recently launched and customers are facing a lot of manufacturing defaults, which will be refactored with the upcoming launches and updates, and moreover you can get a huge discount on the previous model, which is my personal favourite.
Wow great advice and suggestions, thank you
Actually these car are designed according to Indian people requirment and Indian people want powerful car that's why this comes in diesel ,
If u want 4 by 4car then you can try Mahindra Thar
That is lovely car but less space
@@fati.greenland ohk but it's perfect for small family

Parsis came to India after the Arab conquests of Persia we settled in gujrat state another group of zoroastrians came to India during the qajar dynasty they are iranis
👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
I feel bad for zerostrians. They became refuge in their own country. Islamisation of Persia to Iran is of horrible historical conversion with crimes😢
They have destroyed all libraries those days
@@fati.greenland oh I see .but state religion of Iran is still Islam . I don't why? 😭
@@amritabhinav5364 Iran was established by Cyrus/Kourosh/Kurus, the greatest Iranian king. He was one of the most ethical and moral leaders the world has ever seen. You will be amazed by him! His high ideals and goodness, were simply surreal! He outlawed slavery!

Do you planning to buy new one or just test driving cars for youtube?
Diesel is cheaper than petrol in India. That's why people prefer Diesel cars. Simple! Diesel cars are expensive than petrol cars in India. But in the long run people save on fuel.

FYI, the current chairman of Tata is not Persian. They are Parsi. Also, Tata family didn’t come to India as refugees. They were a part of Parsi community which migrated to India.
Please read History one more time

I like the color of this nexon car and its upgraded look and features. I am going to buy TATA above midrage car for my next purchase.
Ratan tata real gold of India
Love from Jamshedpur (Tatanagar)❤❤

Did You Buy A Car.?
I'll suggest you to wait for thar double door new model which is currently under testing. Its 4×4 and bigger than the regular thar. But if you want a premium inside go for mahindra xuv 700.
Tata Safari Dicor was Something else

Tata Safari and Harrier Petrol Versions launching soon in 2024
India is very niche and challenging car market for indian and global automobile manufacturers.
Tata harrier is made on land rover platform and , Range rover and Jaguar owed by tata

Diesel cars are being phased out periodically can't just close it down like a switch . Millions of users needs time. 10 years is the govts stipulated period.
Jamshedpur or TATA Nagar is a big Indian city in Jharkhand state named after Jamshed ji Tata.
You can not debate preference with ideas. We Indians love driving manual cars, its just something we prefer.
Also TATA is developing a petrol engine, won't however release it unless the engineers are fully satisfied with it. We aren't American or Chinese.
Please visit Jammu & Kashmir to show people that how much they feel safe these days
Ok sure
I'd suggest buying the old model of tata safari or harrier
👍🏻
@@fati.greenland the reason being is the new model is recently launched and customers are facing a lot of manufacturing defaults, which will be refactored with the upcoming launches and updates, and moreover you can get a huge discount on the previous model, which is my personal favourite.
