    Wow Rob i have been playing around with Azure backups for on-prem vms. Everything was working fine but i had an issue with restoring. i was trying to import instead off adding new vm eish you are a life saver

    Thanks Rob, worked like a charm! I accidentally deleted my VM from HYper-V and luckily enough I had not deleted the disk!

    Mine isn't doing it. I'm trying to get my Kali VM going just from the VHDX, and it keeps saying it can't find a boot record

      kali and hyper v is on my to-do list but not enough subscribers for that subject. you might want to check your boot sequence to start with. its either that or it is corrupted.

      it looks like it points to corrupted or misconfigured VM config. i would try to export and than import to see if that solves it.

      not sure what you mean. importing a hyperV VM into vmware or virtualbox ?

      @robjorgit yeah. A lot of the function you used are exclusive to hyper-V, no?
