Bro, I love you and I’ve been watching for years.
I’ll be blunt, you did this to your channel. You’re not shadow banned.
You trained the algorithm to show your content to people who like 20 minute + videos. That’s who UA-cam shows your videos to.
Then you started a bunch of 3 minute videos. We see the short video and think “I don’t want to have to pick another video in three minutes. I want a 30 minute video”
We also think, “How much can I learn in a three minute video?”
We skip it, and UA-cam stops showing us your new videos.
Also, since your fans skip it, UA-cam thinks it’s not worth sharing to other people who also watch for 20 minute videos.
They’ll try to find new people they think will watch. But you’ve confused the algorithm, and it has to start learning again, with a bunch of conflicting data points.
I’m in advertising, and it works the same way with UA-cam ads. Same algorithm.
I saw this coming when you first started making those clips.
My advice, delete all the short videos from this channel and go back to only posting longer videos here.
Take the new channel and only upload clips over there.
Make it easy for UA-cam to know who to show your videos to.

You wanted to weed out the dabblers from video one. The ones with ticktock brain won't get past neophyte or vid one. And with what you currently offer for free anyone with honest christ effort can get to find their own answers. Trying to fight the shadow Ban, in my opinión would go against what I think this channel stands for.
Exactly, nobody wants to watch a repeated short video when you watched a longer video previously.
Even if you didn't watch it, most of us will still skip shorter videos, and plan to watch longer videos - even if we don't actually do that.

I agree with this also.
Subscribed to the new channel as well, but wanted to also suggest trying to put a tiny bit of money behind videos on this channel to promote them (in UA-cam Studio --> Content --> New promotion--> More engagement with videos). Even $20 makes a difference in the eyes of the algorithm, it works to break the deadlock.
i'll say this re. short videos: i watch them all, and i love them, just like the rest of the content, but.... i end up with a sense of disappointment for .... well, they are just so short - why else 🙂
having said that, i appreciate the fact that they really are 'to the point'..... there is so many treasures in each video published in this channel, sometimes those little pearls of wisdom get lost among all other information, so it's good and nice to be reminded of them.
My first thought before you asked us for our opinions was to just reupload your old stuff it’s amazing how it is. The only thing I would recommend is getting them organized into playlists. The amount of videos you already have and loading them in will put you in an advantage with the algorithm since the more content you pump out the better. That’s what I would do if it were me. Also I’d do a spell or something to protect the new channel from being shadow banned.
I do have several playlists and am beginning to include them on the end screens of new videos, the mystery school playlist being the longest and most frequently used. You are definitely going to see more playlists being shown.

I have a playlist for all of his videos plus ones that were mentioned but I haven’t kept up with it entirely

More vids, such as reviews, etc. Some individuals pump out tons of content, thus remaining in the minds eye. FF comes to mind. Anything magical, including movies even. The younger gen needs that connection.
For the record I was recommended this channel yesterday in my main feed, and also came across it again during a search today.
As you ask our opinions: re upload all the old vidéos..but add moving visual (nature, stars, planète trajet etc...) often around the end (25/30min or so) of your old videos i use to get distracted and finish the lesson later on. All your contents are beyond priceless and naturally, as a curious person, i bought few of your programs...Totally worth it.
Ps: Lyam Thomas Christopher channel is really cool also as you recommended it. Maybe a podcast or something btw your respective channels?... i dont know.. just sharing opinions. Blessings to you all to all of you. Merci Frater Xavier. 🧙♂️
If it were my channel I'd reimagine the old content perhaps extend them to be an hour or so long mixing a few of the lessons together so as to make the amount that needs to be reuploaded. As an example your very few first lessons polarity the subconscious mind and banishing negative thoughts those would definitley go well together into one video which also could be rebranded as free courses that you could put up on your website and could be bundled together with your other courses.
I like this idea.

I wanted to add that if I were in your place, I would consider doing a Collab with other big UA-camrs in this niche, such as Foolish Fish, Damien Echols or similar which would expand your audience.
It's normal for the algorithm to narrow down on which people it considers would enjoy your content while at the same time your audience retention should go up. At any rate, doing a Collab would bring more people for the algorithm to have in consideration while pushing out your content.

I had been heading in that direction in the past but the collabs I had done previously always seemed to also bring a lot of unwanted drama along with it. After that, I shied away from doing any altogether. I'll may reconsider it though.

I agree Frater, you have so much more knowledge on how to do videos now and seem a lot more at ease with making them, you just flat out grew as a man. Maybe you could do a new video of the mystery school info with a brief history of ancient Mystery Schools and talk about them like in your first intro (I didn't like the first one) a challenge to viewer to actually learn. Then each one of the rules/ laws re edited and maybe a short new video in-between with random thoughts about that concept or how they work in real life or interact with other natural law or how they worked in your life or in other peoples.
Someone mentioned doing collaborations and I don't think you should do that if done in the normal way, your brand is "The Solitary Practitioner" so a podcast YT thing wouldn't work but maybe if you review this idea there may be some kind of angle to it that would be plausible. I personally do not like Live shows but many people do, I can think of 2 or 3 non Magical channels that do it and their subscribers love it but those are more shows about weird events and happenings, one channel does a very well put together explainer video a week and a few days before it a live (I think for members) read event where he just does a read through of the script and then they Do live after partys after the Polished video is released for everyone, many of their other fans love both of these things. Again I don't know if this will work with your style but hopefully something or somethings in this comment thread will give you inspiration directly or indirectly.
Something just "told me" to say maybe you could give a little more info of course not all that was behind the paywall in these videos and also dive deeper how "Every thought is a prayer and every word is a spell" How we are manipulated by words and concepts and how we can use them ethically to get things in real life.
I heard that UA-cam started prioritizing live video around January 2023 I think. Since then the only videos that grow on my channel are livestreams. You could run longer videos as livestreams to experiment with it and see if the shorter video length may have something to do with your loss of growth. Just a thought :)

I gave this some more thought because there's a wonderful opportunity here.
I had said that the first 30 videos were the best.
And there were definitely other videos that were absolutely great and gave me a lot of "a-ha moments!"
I just mentioned those first videos because that body of work is pretty incredible.
I cannot think of a time when I experienced greater personal growth than that period of time.
For example when you would talk about the Lovers tarot card.
You really broke down how Magick works and explains the mind to all of us.
At that point in my life I had a job washing cars at a funeral home and I would just listen to those videos on repeat all day long to squeeze out every bit of knowledge, wisdom and insight.
It's amazing how repeated listenings offered so much to me!
I was able to accept more knowledge and deeper understanding upon repeat the listings too.
To me that body of work was extremely foundational and to this very day is fundamental to my own practice.
I want to make sure that my comments are always positive constructive and show the proper respect and great gratitude I have for what you gave so freely!
Even though I may have moved on to investigate other areas of the occult, I always made sure to buy all your programs to show my gratitude 🙏 ❤️

It was pretty amazing the information given to us in these videos.
I'd love to see the channel to get back to that sort of content.
Personally I don't tune in for the political commentary or the Spirit box stuff or any of that sort of thing.
I always asked for a follow-up video concerning the story of you viewing a spontaneous healing when a cut arm or hand was healing and when you were shocked at the healing stopping, it stopped.
There's so much more I would add and so much I would request in addition to that. But I don't want to write a book here and take up too much of your time.
Yeah I remeber being bummed when I couldn't find the link to the original video in the description, was it from Joe Dispensa or Bruce Lipton? That was awesome video though. I agree the first 30 or so videos were "lightning in a bottle" and the channel was and is still enjoyable but maybe started turning a little down hill after that but there seems to be a ebb and flow in everything.
@@johnmcgraw3568 It was a Gregg Braden video that kept getting removed from youtube either by the uploader or due to copyright that kept breaking the link. It was a worthwhile watch but unfortunately it kept getting taken down.

I just got Fire and Water, and signed up for The Laws of Magick Vol. 1. Thank you, Frater for your occasional discounts and giveaways. They've helped me out a lot. I've bought several programs, but I've won several, too. I've been extremely fortunate, in that regard. Frater, you've really helped me figure out and make sense of why "weird" and supernatural things have always been apart of my life. I've been following this channel since 2013, and I just subscribed to the new one!
Maybe upload your old content to your new channel, Frater, and have those on there drawing in an audience, while you are working on your, "expanded, revised", editions of your old work (AKA, "your labor of love".) ?
I would revisit and revise all the old content. For one it's very valuable knowledge and like you said you may want to add to or change some things. I know you have grown as a person since those clearly vids so maybe you have new knowledge to add to them or a changed perspective even though, I think, they are all concrete topics. I know I'd watch every one of the "reboots". Much love and success to you and the new channel. P.S. also you wouldn't have to think of new topics so that's a plus
The new channel isn't a bad idea. If you can find the time, reformatting to short-form vids might help too. Granted, I loved the days of long form vids from you, and found them really helpful. But that aside...

I've subscribed to the new channel. As to this channel, I check it often because I don't trust UA-cam's notification system. It's been buggy for several years. So I don't trust it.

Make your new channels about stuff like doing reaction videos related to occult, supernatural, magick 101, collaborations with other occultist/ magicians
I think you could find a audience doing this and it could do well possibly but IMO it's kind of like Elvis in a white Jump Suit or Fonzie jumping the shark on a jet ski. But maybe that is just the flow of life or maybe I'm completely wrong
I think it's the short clip videos that are about 3 mins long that have negatively impacted on views and channel growth. I've seen other channels do the same thing and it always results in dips in views and makes youtube think that people aren’t interested in the channel's content anymore. Of course, that isn’t the case, anyone can tell your content is some of the best out there, but the clip videos confused people and don't offer the same rich, indepth content that your long form content does.
So basically, imo, definitely don’t do any short form content over on the new channel, just stick to longform and keep sharing your awesome knowledge.
Agreed. Also all the ads. The first 220 vids on the mystery school playlist were legendary.. and then something odd happened. It was actually right around covid and it seemed like Frater lowkey fell for some of the bullshit. Still very grateful though.
Compendium of Egyptian deities- you can expand on these, materials from side book recommendations mentioned in kabbalah magick and the great work of transformation, your personal experiences with magical evocation and invocation like those story time videos and some more of practical magick. So a practical magick series sort of.
I think diversification of content type across multiple channels definitely helps growth as well as catering to specific audiences. EX: Candle Magick channel or what have you. I think this kind of content does become stale in the algorithm, and I don't think it's a "shadow ban" per say. Realistically, the amount of people this kind of channel can get is pretty low in terms of total UA-cam population. I've been on UA-cam for a very long time as a viewer, and I've seen the rise and fall of channels. Longer form (10+ minutes) informational/educational videos aren't really the meta anymore unless they hit a specific niche while ALSO catering to a younger audience for growth, and retention for stats. Take Veritasium or Mark Rober for example, normally the kind of information they display in their videos would be very boring and out of the algorithms rotation if they weren't so entertaining and geared towards younger audiences. That's the difference between other channels about engineering and theirs. I think the best way for you to grow personally is to add some more visual substance to the videos, the older style of sprinkling videos and pictures in with mainly audio isn't as appealing as it used to be, and individual attention span is dwindling. That's my take on the matter, and no matter what I root for the growth of the channel, this type of content, and all of our success. Much love

It isn't always a wise solution to just wave a magic wand and expect it to fix problems.
It possibly could fix it but there are other risks and factors when targeting UA-cam with magick.

Subscribed to new. I haven’t been on in awhile so I’m not sure if new content was added. The old channel is amazing as is but maybe mailbag stuff weekly or however time to put in. Or a quick 2-5 min daily video on something new to keep algorithms and interest up? I like your clips - good reminders

Are you releasing new content other than 3 min clips and ads for program sales? That's all I get notifications for. I kinda figured you were focused on Patreon and only used this to drive traffic there now because it was monetized better. Other channels are dropping new content far more often than I see on your channel. Talesin McKnight, for example, drops new content daily. Sometimes more than one vid. Would love to see more from you.
Yes. I just released new mystery school content right before this video, same day even. I release new long form content weekly and short clip content twice weekly. If i released daily, I would have no life nor practice. Thanks for watching!

I think you should do the same videos redo reimagining and extra content added to the old videos kinda like your recent video judging god with a lil bit of songs& scripture relating to the occult and esoteric reimagining would be best
I like the scripture reading and a short talk explanation afterwards idea.
Definitely make more new videos for the facts that you can make them either more accurate or less confusing for newbies and myself I only ever really watched the mystery school so when I hear stuff about the Kabbalah I don’t know anything about it and like sidgel magic I have no idea what it is and when I search it after hearing about it I’m not as interested coz it’s not from your channel idk but that’s just my thoughts, also if you make more vids you open yourself up to more views and more adds but yeah nice work love you and everything you do for us, hope you’re well

Its weird. I tried looking up a infamous researcher about a year and half ago, no matter how I tried to search him out on YT, almost nothing. Then recently it flooded me with his last series of interviews that were released a year and half ago. Not only that, another guy that had did hundreds of videos on esoteric readings of the Bible and other works that I like and respect started flooding my recommended the other day out of nowhere.
@@johnmcgraw3568 oh I confirmed something is blocking emails to creators who have missing pieces to my own eso. research ( I am into wekrder not-dark but more hidden stuff that goes beyond frater's teachings).
Wish frater was into my perspective... seems he is not.
Even small channels with 200 subs that have similar pieces of the puzzle were blocked. I had to find this one person in a VERY difficult way with LUCK --- and we confirmed personally my emails dont go thru.
Has happened with 2 similar creators so far.
You should add a lot of CGI and make it so Han doesn’t shoot first!

I appreciate the idea but it will likely never happen for several reasons. 1) I value my privacy and detest fame and public recognition. 2) It may make a more interesting video but also detracts from the material as many would focus on the man instead of the message. (That's why I also turned off comments originally to not influence me either way at a critical time when starting out.) 3) Correspondence to the occult is to remain hidden from view. - there are other reasons but not showing myself is one of the smartest decisions i made during all of this.

Personally I think the reason the channel might not be growing anymore is because the quality of your content has really gone down. I'm not trying to hate here but that is my honest opinion. I got into this channel when you first started and love the mystery lessons. The quality of the content was phenomenal. But at a certain moment the quality of the lessons dropped and I feel like you stopped putting your heart and soul into this.
I have nothing against you making a lot of money from your programs, but I also felt like the content became much more about buying your programs. I really miss the old days of this channel and I'm not the only one. A good friend of mine used to watch your channel and thinks the exact same way. Anyway, just thought I'd give my feedback. Still nothing but love for you but I felt like it was needed to say this. Best to you Frater.
P.S. with regards to the new channel I would recommend to produce new content that's even better than the old mystery school lessons. I'd up the production quality, and get back to your passion for magick and start explaining different concepts and practices in depth again.

It's a very different world than it was in 2013 when you launched your first channel. Also it seems every channel I watch has been shadow banned too. Both of these reasons, I can see why your first channel has peaked. Others are suggesting you relaunch your original material. I agree, your original videos are excellent. However, they are dated and sometimes reference world events no longer relevant. I think people gravitate to what's going on today and have less interest in what happened years ago. So here's my suggestion: you could consider updating, repackaging and adding a bit of new material into your old material. Rerecord everything and launch it. I'll bet if you do, you'll wind up adding all kinds of new material; new things in magick, you've learned yourself these last 11 years running your channel. You'll also likely get new ideas on how to monetize your work. I'm excited to see what you do. I'm sure you'll wow us all.

It didn't help public perception.
I had a 200k+ subs channel until I got demonitized and shadowbanned.
Have tried everything to grow it but to no avail.
It's probably best to make a new channel, but then again, there are no guarantees that you will gain traction.
Maybe you should make a channel focusing only on UA-cam shorts since that seems to be the way to go these days.

New channel probably won't help. Understanding and reading more about youtube algorithm might help.
Right now, based on my own dabblings on youtube channel, the game is something like: new video gets shown to 100 random people -> if clickthrough and view time is too low -> video gets put down in view stack "shadowbanned". If it passes the 100 people requirements, next tier is 1000 or something.
So my tips would be the same as mentioned here; less shorts since they aren't working. More videos on recent events and happenings. For example "Magick and the AI". Or if if someone in the media goes viral "*enter name here* magickal reasons for events w/e" .. Similar to your videos in "magick in plain sight" but with better keywords in video.
Best choice? Best for ME? Or best for you? ... Words matter in requests. I can't answer until I know what you mean.
