Seriously needed this. Why do they make an issue out of this, this is the very reason n number of women don't feel comfortable starting career again. A cousin of mine had only 2.5 years of career now at the age of 44 she started after a 12 year career gap because she was the prime care taker of her 3 kids. God if only India had such companies who could encourage to get back to the workforce. Sad, it will take years for this to normalize.

I agree with you sir. This should not be the reason to not to accept any applicant but many companies in 2023 still believes that career gap is a career gap…its not working in practical scenario. I have a 8 years corporate career gap now I am looking for a corporate job but I am getting rejected just because of my career gap.

I was in a job where my experience was considered as a niche. None other company could entirely relate to the experience i had. For those who do partially, for them my pay was too high. I took a gap and updated myself to a skilled product manager. But now, nobody is even calling me for an interview. 2000 application later, a start up called me and during interview, he made me feel insulted for taking a gap even though I've visibly completed certifications that shown my learnings. I am heartbroken getting stupid thoughts

Archana... don't worry.. don't get into depression. In youtube search "codebasics career gap" or career break. you will find my couple of videos where I interviewed people who had long career gaps and they still got a job and came back to the industry.
