this is cool, i love seeing peoples reactions to magma because their music is almost impossible to describe. I first heard about them through some people in the metal community (go figure) and because of this I was expecting them to sound like a metal band so you can imagine my shock when I first listened to them and was blindsided completely by what they actually sounded like
Glad you enjoy the track. You'll probably like a live version of this over the studio where they push it just a bit over the edge. One of my quirks of the album the Last Seven Minutes is on is that there is no guitarist, just the bassist doing multiple layers.
The founder of Magma basically created his own language for the vocals, one of the advantages of this is that when you listen, you're forced to focus on the vocal sounds themselves.
This band began during 1969 and stil making new material, new albums today! Experience it in concert is something! Test The Üdû Wüdü album or Mekhanïk Destruktïw Komandöh This will change something inside you.
Glad you reacted to my request, Tre! And glad you dig it. Don't miss the other two songs I've sent you from Magma. I'm sure you'll like it too (though they're a little different).
MAGMA!!!
Digging this period of the band, reminiscent of the Grand Wazoo era of Zappa.

Lol this is a crazy magma song to send someone as an introduction to the band.

Wild. Never heard this band before. Tightly intertwined, if I had to come up with a description...until the choir arrives. Good stuff.
