- Man Alive! This movie was a bit of a monster to edit! I tried to be respectful of dialogue, the soundtrack, and cinematography. Hope you enjoy!

I have been waiting for someone to do a reaction to this movie adaptation forever. Thank you!!
This is the closest adaptation to the book that has ever been made. And in my opinion. This must have been a passion project for ALL involved. De Niro as the creature. Was out of left field and perrrfecttt
It definitely holds a special place for me! De Niro was absolutely brilliant.🥰
21:57 😂😂😂Still hilarious, how the monster just *yeets* across over to Victor.
Kenneth Branagh is great...
The book still holds up. It's beautifully sad. Very very well written....
Hardly nobody reacts to this epic film, shame. So well made.
I had forgotten, Bilbo Baggins was in this 😊 hahaha 6:40
Back when I first saw this movie I had no idea who this actor was. I just saw the characters. Now when I re-watch them, and I'm like; I know every single one of these actors.😄
This movie is truly an unknown masterpiece of 90s
I haven’t seen anyone else do this! This is such a gorgeous film. Enjoyed your reaction 😊
Thank you so much!! It was one of my favorite movies growing up.🤩
Good film. Excellent insights. Thanks.
Glad you enjoyed it!
@@MtcRead why did he kill all the dogs I am confused
@@MtcReadwhy did he kill the dogs
@@seekforjannah2432 Excellent question. I was wondering that myself. I have some theories, but I'm not sure.
Maybe the dogs tried to attack him and he flung them off. (Although it seemed like they were trying to flee more than attack.)
Maybe he wanted to get rid of the dogs as guards?
Or... maybe they just wanted the intro to be scary and mysterious, so they put in that scene. I wish I knew.🤔
@@seekforjannah2432 self defense.
I think this version of Frankenstein was more villainous than other versions and even more mad than the others.
You clearly haven't watched Hammer Horror's Curse of Frankenstein. Peter Cushing's Frankenstein was so evil, with his designs on creating life ranging from grave robbing to straight up murdering the professor for his brain. He even has an affair with Justine behind Elizabeth's back and then has his monster, played by Christopher Lee, kill Justine when she blackmails him to marry her instead when she becomes pregnant.
@@sebastianemond5313 Never seen it. And holy shit you have a point.
Ive been obsessed with Frankenstein (the novel) since i was a kid and this movie was amazing to me when it came out. But i remember it getting awful reviews and i just never understood why. I think it was done very well.
BTW, your point about her being dared to write a horror story isn't exactly accurate. It wasn't anything about her being a woman and how they couldn't write anything scary. It was just a friendly competition between her, Mr Shelley, and Byron. Everyone who read it encouraged her to get it published and it actually wasn't even published under her own name for some time.
Now after it had gotten popular it was hard for people to believe that she wrote it and not actually her husband, who already was a somewhat acclaimed writer/poet. But she eventually got her due praise and the book is now credited as being the first science fiction novel ever written.
Thank you for clearing that up! I'm happy that in the end at least she was widely acclaimed for her novel.
To the "first science fiction novel" point, I have to object on behalf of the ancient author Lucian, whose satire of travelogues, "A True Story," tells of how his ship and crew were blown off course by a storm and carried on the wind to the Kingdom of the Moon, which at the time was embroiled in a war against the Kingdom of the Sun over the colonization of Venus.
Later, his crew visits a land inhabited by dead, great thinkers and philosophers. Plato, however, was not there, as he was said to be living in an imaginary society of his own creation lmao
@@DavidEllis94 Interesting... Imma look into that!👌
8:43 Robert Crawley, Lord Grantham of Downton Abbey, Hugh Bonneville, there. Also, 11:37 Carson, Butler of Downton Abbey, Jim Carter, on De Niro's right. I'm surprised at how many Downton Abbey alumni are in Frankenstein adaptations, like Dan Stevens as Henry Clerval in the 2004 miniseries, or Jessica Brown Findlay in Victor Frankenstein with McAvoy and Radcliffe.
See, I didn't even know Dan Stevens when I saw the mini-series! I even still have the box-set at home... So fun to re-watch these old movies and suddenly recognize actors that I was not familiar with back then.
You NEED to watch the movie :
Wilder Napalm
It doesn't get enough love.
Never heard of it before... and that's rare!😅 I will give it a watch!
Thank you for being yourself.
Your quiet wit is great.
I laughed I cried 😂
I subscribed.
Refreshing to watch along without the "creator" acting like an idiot and being loud for clicks....
That means the world to me! Thank you, very kind☺️
I wish you would react to the movie Stake Out you will see someone you might recognize
11:42 You were right when saying "watching people get HANGED". You added a correctional blurb of * *hung* in the video, but that's actually not the proper way to say hang in the past tense when referring to that word in that context. Hanged is correct 👍
